Interim manager discussion: Who replaces the interim interim manger (Carrick)?

This board is utterly clueless admittedly as they were still running with the Ole is our guy as late as Friday. However, the next manager will be Zidane though. He and United agreed for him to be in place at the end of this season after he has learned some English. I’ve heard it on very good authority - not from tabloid gossip - that he has agreed to buy a penthouse in Manchester last week. I don’t want him but he’s coming….if he takes over now it’s 5 months too soon but obviously Ole has nowhere to go after yesterday. Fletcher interim til then? Good grief - more likely Zidane takes over with an interpreter - worked with Poch at Southampton the board will think.

Nobody wants to manage these misfit players. Their performance yesterday and against city showed that Ole is not the only problem.

Bollocks. Most top managers will jump at the chance to manage United no matter what. Finding a suitable manager who’s available is more the issue.

Ole had the club at heart but the Job was too big for him.
The players didn't help, as some have no respect.
We need to get a manager that shows his authority and takes no nonsense from some of these cry babies.

It would be better to keep Ole than to hire a care taker from the club. Fletcher is part of United and the failure we've been experiencing lately. Fletcher can not be a breath of fresh air, for he is part of the problem himself.

By the way, it is strange that they sack Ole now after a defeat against Watford. It would have been appropriate to sack him before the national team break.

He strikes me as a more studious follower of the game and I would imagine in his role there is, believe or not, a plan in which the club is developing going forward. Maybe he can implement that in the interim better than Solskjaer?

Guess talks with the next manager are ongoing. Just hope I’m right and Fletcher is a better tactical mind than we currently have.

I do not want Fletcher, Carrick, Phelan & that other joker of a nobody to be anywhere near coaching or managing this team.

What the hell is that supposed to accomplish? We are so fecking amateur it's unbelievable.

No. Just no.
If it’s a stop gap until the end of the season, would rather have Keane. Someone to put a rocket up these feckless lazy shites

after what Kean has said on tv about some of the players no way they would play for him. His tactics of flying kicking the whiteboard at sunderland in the dressing room was regarded as a complete joke to the players. they thought he was an arsehole and downed tools

Not sure why few are moaning about this. Till we appoint permanent or care taker manager we need temporary guy in charge for couple of games.

How many games he will be in charge depends on how slow board is in getting the next manager.

Exactly. We have a game on Tuesday ffs.

You're spot on. Folk are really getting carried away about this.

If the board signals that they aren't going to make wholesale changes to the backroom staff, expect shite performances from the players who have clearly lost faith in them.

Jesus we ain’t hiring Fletcher permanently. Someone needs to sit there on Tuesday. Hopefully someone proper in for Chelsea.

I said this previously, but Carrick and Fletcher have both been coaching our players to produce these poor results.
Ole was part of the problem, but Mckenna, Carrick and Fletcher are also to blame.
None of these people should be part of the new setup.

The worry is that if we get Fletcher in now as interim, he may stay in place till the Summer. Or worse, he may be given the full-time job.
We currently have a set of elite level players and they NEED an elite level manager with a big name who the players will buy into.

It’s not going to happen for a number of reasons but if it’s for two or three matches, I wouldn’t mind it being Keane in that dressing room.

Whoever it is shouldn’t be there after the Chelsea match.

I don't know how credible this is, but I do hope that Zidane comes in as quickly as possible.
I'd rather have him in before January and have him learn English while on the job.
Our players need a manager with a big reputation, so they work hard for that manager.
The other positive is that the sooner Zidane arrives, the sooner Carrick, McKenna and any other useless coaches will be relieved of their first team duties.

I honestly cannot see him managing more than a game or 2 at worst. Club won’t be fecking around this time. Too much noise on lots of different candidates. Just hope when we do bring a proper manager in he gets to bring his own coaches with him too.

People feeling burned to many times, thats why they losing their shit i guess.

If Phelen, Carrick and McKenna keep their jobs then that is ridiculous
I’d have to agree with you here. I’ve lost faith in the coaching team. As much as Ole took most of the stick I think the whole coaching team have failed. They were a huge part of the failure and must be held accountable. We need a complete reset with a world class team. I’m extremely worried this will be overlooked and the issues will transfer from one to the next.

For one game, yes ok. Just one though and do all you can to get the guy you actually want now, not the end of the season.

If Michael Carrick somehow manages to cling on again it’ll be absurd. We need a full clear out in the coaching staff.

Ole has taken the bullet and rightly so but this is a collective failure - by all accounts Carrick and McKenna were the main coaches and the ones the players didn’t respect. Keeping them around doesn’t really solve anything. Let them go learn elsewhere.

At this rate you’ll have Woodward and judge managing the team interim.

A caretaker manager until we find an interim manager. Yep, that’s the level this board is at. Incredible.
