Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

The EU should end Serbia's hopes of joining the EU. If they were currently a member, they would be blocking sanctions or any response from the rest of the EU on Russia. There's no reason to admit a country that will actively work against the EU's interests.
Exactly. It is fecking ridiculous that they have been allowing this policy of being both with EU and with Russia.

Serbia should choose either EU or Russia, and should not be allowed to do both. This, I want the EU money but do Russia’s policies is only gonna hurt the EU.

I presume because Russia went to war in 1914 in defence of Serbia?
Oh yes of course, it was unveiled in 2014 too, so 100 years after the fact. Had a bit of a brainfart there.

Extremely optimistic opinion, but let us dream for a minute.

The incompetance, defeats and lack of progress could be signs of deeper rooted problems within the Russian military that we aren't aware of just yet... maybe.

Surely this is beyond optimistic? If what is written comes to fruition this would be the one of the biggest underdog victory in history of warfare. Sounds great but just can't see it happening. I also didn't see Ukraine holding for a week too , though.

Russia don't need tanks. I'm sure they can continue their bombing raids.

Imagine all the hitler bunker videos that will come out if this is true :D

They have excellent relations. Russia also vetoed UN resolution for NATO sending troops to Serbia, and blocked Kosovo’s independence in UN despite that the original plan was to go with Ahtisari’s recommendation (they backtracked when Ahtisari recommended independence).

So traditional ally, in addition to the help Russia have given to Serbia recently.

Vucic is in a very difficult position. His policy was always try to enter the EU while having great relations with Russia (and China). That might be problematic after this.

Russia see themselves as the grandaddy and protector of all Slavs and that extends all the way to Serbia, whom they seem to have a special affection for. Quite possibly due to historic rivalries between their imperial leaders way back in the day.

Once Putin hits Odessa, they are probably going to destroy the Opera House (among so many other things).

Not all Slavs to be fair. They have bad relations with all other Slavic counties in Balkan (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, N. Macedonia, Bosnia without Srbska Republica).

But most definitely because they own half of the Serbia, including one of biggest oil rafineries here, Serbia being one of their biggest buyers of gas in this area, etc.

If you're wondering why Putin is cracking down on independent media and social media companies, it's because they were getting far more engagement than state media despite state media having far more reach.

I'll acknowledge that my perspective is based on my study of Soviet history and that some variance might have occured since those days.

Ooh look at Amar providing the crucial details!

I am pretty sure there are many Croatian politicians here with good Russian connections. There were few stories about Bosnian and Croatian HDZ leaders getting lot of their dirty money from Russia.

I know Russian propaganda have got their hooks in a decent amount of Russians but i'm curious, does anyone know someone that isn't Russian who's actually supporting Putin and think they're doing nothing wrong?

You've done some serious damage to your credibility on this forum. And i know you're staff. But you just keep fecking poking. Like a teenage girl with a acne problem. Sorry. Not sorry.

I think he's laughing at my gentle ribbing of my friend Amar.

I think we need to have a chat in the thread next door about how poking and teenage girls with acne are actually one in the same.

Apologies. I'll explain.

Weapons amu factory goes off. Raul states a thermo bomb had gone off. But posts video that had been recorded several days previously. Look at the panic. In those posts afterwards..
