F1 2023 Season

Yes, you are right. They should just take responsibility and die like men. Brilliant.

Why would they die? Just drive slowly. It's rain, not sheet ice. Red flags are daft. No need for childish comments like yours

Double yellows and safety cars - isn't that enough? It's only not enough if the drivers aren't mature enough to slow. Which the rules say the have to.
Two problems,

1) when you have so much water on the track and arent on full wets the tyres get overloaded, there is more water going through the tread than they can get rid of and you aquaplane.

2) Under safety car the tyre temps drop off too much.

I do get the whole, just go racing its water. But times gave changed and this isnt the F1 of 20/30 years ago.

Other sports manage it. And I didn't say just go racing, I said don't red flag a race because a car is being towed - just get them to slow down.

I don't think it's progress making everything idiot proof. It just making the world more suitable for idiots.

After what happen wth Jules Bianchi, F1 will never take that risk again. That was under a VSC or a safety car (cant remember) and he slid off and hit the recovery vehicle.

F1 have the drivers on their side on this issue as well.

On a sidenote there have been plans muted, to change the rules to not allow a free tyre change under red flag conditions. I hope they go through.

What could they change so we get more chances for them to actually go racing in the rain? I swear they used to keep going in wetter conditions in the 90s, how can we return to that?

I agree after Jules, there will never be cars on the track, while one is being removed and rightly so.
No free tyre change under a red flag, excellent idea.

I seem to remember Martin Brundle nearly dying at Suzuka in 1994.

I remember Jules Bianchi actually dying at Suzuka in 2014.

Not sure we really wanna go back to racing in weather where they're aquaplaning off unsuspectingly. I'd rather they stoppped.

Besides, we got perhaps the best race ever in Canada 2011 after not running for 2 hours+ due to rain.

Perhaps getting rid of the inters so teams have to use the full wets

F1 cars need speed to generate down force, if you can't drive quickly then it's like driving on sheet ice. Pirelli have openly said their full wet doesn't do the job and shouldn't be used until they revise it till next year. So reality is that red flags will be more common place until F1 has full wets which work.

It took time but we got to an end result and made what tends to be a pretty dull GP interesting. Pretty confident we'll see Red Bull win every race this year.

Next weekend at Monza seems everyone's best chance to win vs Red Bull. Just a pure engine strength track.

Doubt it to be honest, their DRS will get them back to the front if they find themselves in any problems. Singapore feels like the only opportunity I can see on the remaining races.

Yes their DRS is insane, but we have seen last years that some teams take insane risks adjusting their car purely for that speed there, not the best car has won at Monza multiple times. Maybe a bit Copium, but I want someone of Lando/Piastri/Hamilton/Leclerc be on top at least once, they all deserve it for their own reasons :D

Teams have Monza specific front and rear wings. However the RB is so bloody fast even without DRS that there is little chance it wont be a RB win.

Stop Max from winning you mean? Perez is totally off form or should I say the 2nd car is no way near the 1st.
Red Bull in general and that includes Max.

It’s Alonso’s luck. Every team he’s been on since he left for Ferrari has faced significant development/reliability issues that his driving can’t overcome.

Alonso's curse.

Hamilton seems convinced they were fast as Max, but they made tactical mistakes. Maybe the difference isn't that big anymore?

So unless some kind of mechanical failure, I assume Max will beat the number of wins in a row record next week with 10. Quite an incredible achievement and one I didn't think would be beaten when Vettel got it. While some of his wins have been effortless, I think this was one of his most impressive of the season so far. Dealt with a few things in this race, and still smashed it. Probably one the most (the most?) entertaining GPs of the season. Aside from the whole waiting for the restart thing. That's never fun.

Also, never get tired of seeing Alonso on the podium. Love the guy.

Alonso's curse.

You make your own luck to some extent. Alonso was exceptionally difficult to work with and an extremely bad team player, which made plenty of the top teams not want to take him on.

Also, part of the skill of a modern racing driver is being able to sniff out a team on the up. If you keep jumping ship and joining uncompetitive teams, you have to take some blame.

There is no proof of this.
Apart from Ron Dennis Alonso has never had a problem with anyone. Briatore, Domenicali, Zak Brown and others have all worked with him and haven't said anything bad about him. so difficult to work with that Renault hired him 3 times and McLaren hired him twice.

The British media and journalists succeeded in making him the villain after 2007 but protected Hamilton and Dennis even though they were part of the problems and because he dared to critisize Honda for making the worst engines.

you can’t trust lewis. he wants to be max so much that he’s been collecting all the other driver’s sweat and semen and dripping it into a rubber glove and then fecking it, pretending that it’s kelly, just so he’d know what it would feel like to be max.

problem with alonso is that he’s spanish and spends all his time throwing himself from the cockpit, pretending to be hurt, to try and con the ref. or sexually assaulting female drivers and pretending that they asked for it.

Lots of proof of alonso being a difficult character and not building a team around him. Its well known character flaw of alonso that any F1 fan can tell you.

Ferrari got rid if him because they got fed up. Mclaren got rid of him both times because they got fed up. Mercedes wouldnt hire him to replace roseberg, RedBull wouldnt hire him to partner max. Ferrari wouldnt have him back.

His options in the paddock are limited , henece the enstone team on three different occasions.

I wouldnt believe lewis on this occasion, depending on the downforce levels on the RB, its super DRS advantage is reduced. At dutch GP it was reduced because of high downforce nature of track. At monza i expect it will back to maximum again and the RBs will annihilate everyone on the long straights.
