Carling Cup 3rd round

Old Trafford

I think the team will be..

.................Kuszczak...............
Bardsley - Evans - Pique - Simpson
Eagles - O'Shea - Anderson - Nani/Martin
...........Dong - Campbell..............

If Hargreaves is fit he will start alongside Anderson.... O'Shea left back, Simpson right back.

Bench: Heaton, Lee, Saha, Tevez/Rooney, Martin/Nani.

My squad:

GK: Kuszczak

RB: Simpson
CB: Evans
CB: Pique
LB: O'Shea

RM: Eagles
CM: Anderson
CM: Hargreaves
LM: Nani

FW: Dong
FW: Campbell

---------------------Kusczak----------------------
Simpson-----Piqué-------Evans---------O'Shea
-----------------Hargreaves----------------------
Eagles-----------Anderson------------------Nani
-------------Saha------Campbell------------------

3-0 Saha, Anderson, Piqué.

Feel free to offer links to equally big logos.

GK: Kuszczak
RB: Bardsley
CB: Piqué
CB: O'Shea
LB: Evans
MR: Eagles
CM: Jones
CM: Hargreaves
ML: Nani
ST: Anderson
ST: Dong

Bench: Heaton, Bardsley, Martin, Campbell, Saha.

2-0: Dong, Anderson.

Anderson, Nani, Eagles and Pique will get important chances to show their abilities.

Rio looked slightly injured against Chelsea, so he must get some rest. Pique will do fine.

Team will be.....

GK: PIG

RB: Bardsley
CB: Evans
CB: Pique
LB: Eckersley

RM: Eagles
CM: O'Shea
CM: Anderson
LM: Martin

CF: Campbell
CF: Dong

Where will the goals come from? Shame Ole and Rossi aren't around anymore other wise I'd really fancy our second string to go all the way in this competition :(

Fergie said Hargo' would be fit for Coventry... doubt he'd be risked in a meaningless game like this, perhaps an extra few days training would be better for him!?

Perhaps you're right, but Owen played not many games in United, so this could be a good chance for him to learn about the style of the team and develop his own abilities into United's football.

45-60 minutes should be a safe time for him to not get injured, again.

GK: Pig
RB: O'shea
CB: Pique
CB: Evans
LB: Lee
DM: Hargreaves
RM: Eagles
CM: Fletcher
CM: Anderson
LM: Martin
ST: Campbell

Subs: Dong Nani Simpson Bardsley Gibson

I'd like to see Saha on for at least 45 minutes and Anderson playing in his preferred position, whatever that is.

im hoping for:
------------PIG
---Wes-Vidic-Pique-Simpson
Eagles-Hargreaves-Anderson-Lee
-------Rooney-Saha-----
we will win 2-0

Sir Alex might field out the reserves or youngsters, but I think the following players will be given some vital playing time:

-Saha
-Anderson
-Hargreaves
-Neville

My team:

.................Kuszczak...............
Neville - Evans - Pique - O'Shea
Eagles - Hargreaves - Anderson - Nani
.............Tevez - Saha..............

Bench - Heaton, Simpson, Lee, Martin, Rooney

Obviously that's all wishful thinking and dependent on injuries/fitness.

Should this get posted in the 'reserves' forum as well?

Still looking forward to seeing some of the young guys in action (the main recompense for the round trip, ticket, plus expenses.)

-------------Kuszczak
Neville--Pique---Evans---O'Shea
------------Hargreaves
--Eagles----Anderson-----Nani
----------Saha-----Campbell
Subs: Heaton, Simpson, Martin, Rooney, Dong

Give Tevez a run to boost his confidence further with a goal or two

im hoping for:
------------PIG
---Wes-Vidic-Pique-Simpson
Eagles-Hargreaves-Anderson-Lee
-------Rooney-Saha-----
we will win 2-0

Its stupid to put first team players for this game unless they are returning to play and getting fitness like Hargreaves.

This is a chance for the lads like Pique and Evans, Martin, Eagles and company to show themselves and let the first team players rest and avoid injuries, remember next week we have Roma on Tuesday, 3 days after playing at Birmingham.

Not in England but seen as your location is in Switzerland that's pretty useless info for you...

It's not useless really, here they don't show any foreign football apart from the Champions' League, so if it's broadcasted in the UK I can often find streams. Thanks anyway.

Saha, Anderson, Pique and Evans should all start.

is the Carling cup one of United's priorities. I believe the pecking order in the sense of trophies to be won this season is:

1) League
2) Champions League
3) FA Cup
4) Carling Cup

I think Sir Alex will opt to use the lesser players in this competition and see how far they can go. I don't think that he will risk playing the big guns since our mission now is catching Arsenal and we can't afford to loose ground in that.
