Aston Villa VS Manchester United

I won't mind if Anderson start if we can't get the injured players back.

the way villa have been playing lately, espescially at home, i would definetly take a 1-0, though i expect 2-0 or 3-0, with united finally shutting up all the critics.

A victory at villa would definetly shut all the 'it was only wigan' muppets up, anda clean sheet would be wonderful.

Just need a win against them - the whole of my bloody wife's family are Villa fans - I'd never hear the end of it otherwise!!!

You've got the same calculator Essien is using? I want one of those.

umm... You can have it, mate.

Villa are doing well this season. I think they'll be contenders for a European spot at the end of the season if they manage to improve their squad depth in the January transfer window.

I think Young is the danger man. If we can keep him quiet, we should win comfortably.

Talking about Young, he seems like a very good player indeed, shame we didn't make a bid, to be honest, he looks better than Nani. And he is only one year older and £9 million cheaper. Oh well, Nani's class anyway.

Agbonlahor

Agbonlahor

Also very good.

But Young is a better player, Yes Agbonlahor has a bit more pace, but Rio is also very fast so should be able to deal with that threat, whereas Young has combined skill and pace so will be harder to handle.

i think the pair of them will cause problems if they are on their game

Like the poster above said, fight fire with fire, especially when our fire, Ronaldo, is hotter. Malouda's just as good as the two Villa wingers but when we played Chelsea he did hardly any attcking because he was too busy helping A Cole to contain Ronnie. If we play well, their wingers will spend most of the game defending, which they're probably not so good at. And then they might get frustrated like J Cole did against us. Evra and Brown are both fast enough to deal with the wingers, anyway. And we have Rio if they get past our full backs.

good call , here's hoping

Agbonlahor will find a lot more space to run into behind Evra. And as good as Vidic is, his one glaring weakness is when fast players run at him, particularly when he's drawn into cover the left back position.

The key's probably gonna be keep possession away from Villa's midfield 3. It'd also be nice if Tevez would deign to play along the line and stretch the opposition defence every now and again.

Villa Park is a good ground for us, we'll get the three points as long as Young and Agbonlahor are kept quiet.

Man Untied have never lost in Villa Park since 1995, and I don`t think that Aston Villa will break this record!! we have so many injuries, but A.Villa do too!!

ManUtd.com: Mellberg looks unlikely to feature in Sweden's side for Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Northern Ireland and now faces an uphill battle to regain fitness in time for the champions' visit to Villa Park.

Thirty-year-old Mellberg, who usually operates in the centre of defence, has spent the majority of this season at right back after Mark Delaney's retirement and Aaron Hughes' move to Fulham. If Mellberg fails to make Saturday's squad, Martin O'Neill is likely to turn to midfielder Craig Gardner for cover.

Meanwhile, Saturday's match also looks to be too soon for Villa striker John Carew, who limped out of action in Villa's 2-0 win over Everton last month.

"Carew is improving," Martin O'Neill said, "but I would, at this minute, say he was unlikely to be available for Saturday. Saturday would be the fourth week and we were always anticipating between four and six weeks."

Villa's Mellberg likely to miss Man Utd clash

Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg is struggling to be fit for Saturday's clash with Manchester United.

The Sweden centre-half has suffered a back injury while on international duty and looks certain to miss the Euro 2008 qualifier with Northern Ireland.

Villa boss Martin O'Neill is facing an anxious wait to discover the full extent of the injury. Mellberg has been deputising at right-back after the sale of Aaron Hughes to Fulham and the retirement of Mark Delaney.

If he is ruled out, then Craig Gardner - a midfielder - may revert to the role he occupied for the opening four games of the campaign.

Big player for them, would be a loss
