I just want to add that Fletcher might be our best central midfielder in a couple of years
That's if he get's enough games to improve his game during these years.

I could be wrong but I thought that was what you were saying below
Edit to add: if you mean on the highlighted that I was suggesting you said he wouldn't improve, mentions of him improving is regards his chances to get to the level of our best player, which I consider possible though a huge ask, too many great players to pass out
I see. You want me to wait until he actually becomes our best player before i say, 'he could be our best player in the future'? Clever dude.
Usual FM conclusions. You're really embarrassing. I guess nobody other than Football Manager predicts Anderson could become one of the best, if not the best midfielder around at his peak then? Well just to inform, people have been saying that about him for about 3 years mate, ever since he was the best player in the U-17 World Cup actually.
Eh, I never wrote what you quoted you gimp. K14 did.![]()

OK you didn't say it but you were still saying no-one said it when it had been said, my mistake thinking you were defending yourself
K14, John Obi Mikel is quite awsome as well you know. If you ever watched him in his younger years you'd see he was like anderson and maybe even more.
John Obi Mikel is a fantastic prospect too. As much of a cnut as he is, i openly point out that i am quite disappointed we mist out on him. However, that usually get's intepreted as some sort of racial attack on Carrick, Fletcher or Hargreaves, with some sort of, 'you hate English players' comment thrown out.
it seems so damned difficult to predict who is going to become the best and who isn't. it seems as often as not that someone that shows every sign of having that quality ends up being mediocre. that may have as much to do with managers as the players for all i know, being played out of position, being asked to play a role that goes against their strength, problems moving to new countries, et cetera.
k14, i'm glad you're excited. i'm a muppet for ronaldo, he can do no wrong in my eyes [well, only siths deal in absolutes (absolutely only siths) but you get my point] and i won't hear any argument that he isn't the best in the world. but i don't watch every kaka and ibrahimovitch and ronaldinho/messi/eto'o game.
but it does seem like the argument could be arranged, on both sides, with a little less anger. naturally, opinions are polarizing, people see their favorite players through red tinted glasses.
and i was going to recommend to my caf friends to temper their anger with interest in understanding someone else's perspective, but life has been emphasizing to me recently how little people are interested in advice. perhaps that's why we throw around insults, shame works better than logic. or perhaps they are uninterested in changing, and that is why our insults hide advice about how to be more like us.
feel free to ignore all this [if you were already going to ignore it you didn't wait for my offer anyway]. enjoy your spat!
Mikel is a fantastic prospect as bad as it is. I don't like the little bastard at all, but it's impossible to deny that he has got a huge amount of potential. You can't deny talents like Mikel just because he's a prick.
I see it as badly adviced more than anything, he made the wrong choice not coming here, he could have been central to our future but I think it was bad advice rather than him being a prick.
Your being a bit of a baby there, mikel is a excellent prospect who will go onto be one of the best midfield players in europe, I would imagine no one would dispute that. However people would look at say you comments on Carrick since he is clearly competeing with your favorite Anderson, in your eyes anyway (I personally think there are plenty of games for both) and say why has he suddenly got a downer on Carrick. Same for Giggsy and Nani, I knew as soon as the season started there would be alot of negative K14 Giggs posts. Now you can come back with all the persecution stuff you normally come back with but thats how it appears.
I'd take Anderson above Mikel any day. They both have good passing technique but Anderson has better movement, tackling, work ethic and skill on the ball; at least from what I've seen. The only thing that Anderson lacks on Mikel is height.

Hello RD, how's things going? I was moving flats, and adjusting to a bit of a different life so I didn't post on here much. I'm settled now though, so it's back on here I go.

If you put them together though they could really grow into something very special, they would complement each other imo and be a really dominate partnership for a decade or more, unforutnatley we will never know though.
had to move after they found out about your nocturnal activities eh?
Are you still in MK?
For what it's worth, i've been an open Carrick supporter for a while. What i don't like is, is it not possible for me to honestly feel that Anderson should start ahead of Carrick, or Nani to start ahead of Giggs?
I've noticed, when reading through this forum, that many posters agree with this, but i often feel i should keep mine to myself, because when i say it, it must be taken differently from our 'proper fans' who seem to feel Nani should start, it's some favouritism thing apparently.
For my money, Anderson and Nani have, this season, been better or contributed more, than Carrick and Giggs. You have no idea how frustrating it is that that view can never possibly be seen as a genuine footballing observtion. So with every post, i have to jump into a silly 2 page argument about who i like more etc, wheras i've witnessed so many other posters getting away with saying they feel Nani should start ahead of Giggs without being abused and told to play computer games etc.
Oh dear.. When you have a team of Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Giggs, Scholes etc., your gonna need a hell of a lot more than 3(admittedly brilliant) displays to claim your going to be better than one of them, let alone everyone. Especially as Tevez, Ronaldo and Rooney still are very young players. Your jumping to your usual FM conclusions.
Again, can this not just be because i reckon he's playing poorly? The fact that we have a seemingly viable alternative as opposed to putting Fletcher out wide just makes it more frustrating, but in my view, not sure Giggs is in the team every game because he is simply playing better than Nani.
Anderson as contributed more than Carrick, I don't agree with the Nani/Giggs thing both have contributed quite a bit imo, they have been used correctly by Ferguson. I'm so pleased about the depth of the squad we have quality players I just think every one of those players can contribute so much from us. I just felt from your Carrick/Fletcher post and I may be wrong on this so I apologise if I am, that you were trying to bring across Carrick shouldn't play an important role anymore as Anderson needs to play every game. I can understand your excitment over Anderson he is clearly going to be a very good player, quite possibly one of the best in the world but that doesn't mean we don't need Carrick (or Hargreaves or Scholes or indeed Fletcher)
Again, i agree with this, but CantonaVeron, you can't honestly say that you would have just accepted the above view if it were me who posted it, surely?
Only you know and I'm not going to turn this into a argument.
I think its great to have options, Fletcher out wide doesn't really work I agree with that I just think giggsy and Nani have been rotated really well. I would expect Giggsy to start the more important games because of his experience and his defensive responseability, but in general Ferguson has rotated it very well. However I would exepect towards the end of the season begining of next that Nani would over take Giggsy and be important to the bigger games.
