Transfer United Till I Die
I am totally in the know, honest
United.
You are taking a couple of isolated incidents and assuming it's the norm.
a) the band can do wonders for the atmosphere
b) england fans have booed the players on isolated occasions, its not a regular occurrence. Some of the views on here make me think alot of the united fans haven't actually been to an england match yet they feel they can preach about it. United are not whiter than white we have booed our own players on many an occasion.
c) United have a 75,000 stadium which most of the time is devoid of atmosphere
You do realise that using Ingurland makes those who post it look stupid and matters not a damn on the whole to England supporters right? Is that the best slur or insult available to you lot? lol
And we at United possess perfection among our hoards of fans do we? I really must've missed that. Rather i'd say that every club and every national side ahs those who say thigns at times that make others cringe e.t.c.
I can tell you right now that when Gerrard scored last night, i was simply happy that he did, hsi Liverpool origins were nowhere in my mind. Ditto Terry pretty mcuh.
Do you think that when Sol Campbell nearly put us through to the Semis in 04, that him being an Arsenal player was ever a factor?
I'd pretty much agree with this.
I was gutted last night watching Terry and Gerrard score for England.
The only pleasure I get from England these days is seeing our own lads do well. I think it's down to so many cnuts playing for the national side these days, if the personnel was different maybe my view point would be too.
I didn't always think like this, although it has always been club before country for me,
This.I'd pick United winning the Charity Shield over England winning the World Cup.
A) the band are the only thing you can hear, not good.
B) Understandable but the last time i heard England fans booing was against Croatia when England were actually keeping possession.
C) That is true but more down to the nature of the game in England these days and the comercial aspect of United. When i hear the United fans at away days they are the best in the world.
Also the amount of times the bbc, newspapers, pundits whoever go on about how England fans are the best in the world is rather rediculous.
I'd pick United winning the Charity Shield over England winning the World Cup.
These cnuts on here all cheered when Campbell put the ball in the net too
They just wont admit it because it's not the done thing
All i see when i watch England is 11 players in white shirts playing for their country
A lot of me agrees with you ralphie. However, 'A love that asks no questions'; A line from 'I Vow to Thee my Country', such an inspirational hymn. Mentioned in a recent thread on the Caf, as it happens ('A rugby anthem') and of course the work of Gustav Holst (Venus, from 'The Planets'). Holst (really Von Holst - a germanic aristocrat, albeit from a Swedish family) was an early socialist, vegetarian and was keen on Hindu mysticism and spirituality.
I think what is probably most praiseworthy about England is this very diversity. Yes, we may dwell upon ill-judged wars and certain elements of our imperial adventures, but only in England could such a figure as Holst be adopted as representing that strand of understated patriotism which we espouse. The culture of tolerance and diversity thus exemplified endures even today. In marked contrast to most other shallow nationalistic cultures. And yet, I too find even our understated patriotism embarrassing, never more so than when witnessing the moronic 'Ing-er-lund' and cross-of-St George flag explosion attendant upon every World cup or Euro tournament for which we qualify. I was actually overjoyed when we failed to reach Euro 2008 for the very reason that it would spare us the nauseating spectacle of (very un-English) jingoistic self-indulgence.
United is tribal. Ing-er-lund is nationalistic. There's a political dimension to the latter which can be harnessed in such a way that it results in The Somme.
So Get fecking In United!!!
And feck Ing-er-lund
Theres a lot of good things as well mate. You have to look at both sides of the coin. It seems your almost ashamed to be English.
Delusional. Myself and many other simply DO NOT CARE about England. Others actually hate them and support whoever they are playing.
By the way, did you join in with the "Stand Up if You Hate Man Utd" chants at England matches in the late 1990s? Or are you too young to remember.
Did you join in with the Booing of Giggs, Ferdinand and anyone else that gets booed regularly by Man Utd fans
I've been to Old trafford a few Hundred times, i've also been to England games
I know exactly how football fans are these days, especially at OT and i am glad they weren't like they are now when i went to football because basically they are sheepish cnuts
You seem not to be able to see the irony of, United fans booing their own players......
England fans, made up from supports of dozens of teams, booing a player they dislike
To be honest, I'm on the same wavelength. I care very little about international football.
Sultan, your avatar is pure genius!
No, the issue was England fans booing players because they play for United. And singing anti-United songs when United players are playing in the white shirt.
As for the crowd at OT booing players - very very rare. There were a couple of games where Giggs was not exactly booed, but there were groans and cheers when he was subbed. As for Rio, he got a bit of stick when he was refusing to sign a contract - for about 3 games.
Just do a search in here for booing your own players
Or summink like that
I don't need to, seeing as how I've attended pretty much every home game since the late 1980s.

United winning a corner is better than John Terry's England winning the World Cup
I don't need to, seeing as how I've attended pretty much every home game since the late 1980s.
I'd take United winning the next five Charity Shields over England winning the next five World Cups. Odds are the words perch and off would feature on t-shirts by then on a more global scale.
Just for the record Ralph, we know you get to the games, you don't need to re-tell us in every post.
Does Ralphie go to games??
You'd think he'd have mentioned that by now
Does Ralphie go to games??

Of course, implicit in this is the fact that we could only win 5 Charity Shields by being in those games!
Hmm... finishing 2nd all the time behind domestic double winners is not an idea I'd want to think about...![]()
To be honest, I'm on the same wavelength. I care very little about international football.
Sums up the opinion of MUFC fans on England for me.
The Pride of All Europe.
The Cock of the North.
No mention of England at all.![]()
I'm ashamed or some of the things our nation has done, and I'm proud of others. On balance probably more of the former, which is one reason I won't be wrapping myself in a cross of St George and chanting "No surrender to the IRA".
Of course, implicit in this is the fact that we could only win 5 Charity Shields by being in those games!
I don't see why you relate being proud of Britain/England with being a nationalistic moron?
