They're quite fashion-conscious you know, female terrorists. I saw a couple in a clothes shop a while ago and overheard one ask the other 'does my bomb look big in this?'.

I love how the Marriot hotel manager tried to cover it up by silencing the media and saying there was no attack....... until CNN broke the story
 
As for The Sun, i would expect its front page to be suitably changed by morning, or you'd hope so.



India TV have apparently spoken with one of the militants holding hostages at the hotels. He said that Muslims in the country would not be oppressed; adn went on to claim that there were six more Deccan Mujahideen with him. However the means to confirm his identity and agenda are limited, so a bit of an advisory for now.

The death toll has now risen to 101, six of whom are believed to be foreigners.

And as Israeli family has been taken hostage in an apartment or office block.
 
Sadly, this has become a part of the life in big cities. One of the reasons why I'll never move to a big city. The congress government has failed miserably in terms of national security.

I wonder if the terrorists make a selection within a selection, for example what if you are Bulgarian or Polish but have a British passport (and are therefore a British citizen). Do you still count as a 'Westerner'?
 
This kind of attack is unique. They've stayed to die rather than place bombs and run away like cowards as they usually do.

The city - especially the business hub is totally paralysed. Stock market closed, offices haven't opened, schools and colleges closed.

Whats aggravating the situation is the rumours flying around.

Both the army, and navy has been utilised in these operations.

It seems things are coming under control. The terrorists are now holed up in the Taj without any hostages. Just a matter of time before they are either captured or killed. There are reports some hostages are being held at Oberoi, and a Jewish family in centre Mumbai.

I think the police and army have done well to control the situation

Also the only reason that the "so called" terrorists were capturing British or american citizens was so that this situation gets international recognition and everyone hears their "message" of violence

No way... A Yank would suggest invading a country, arresting a good portion of the population, piling the prisoners up in a pyramid fashion (naked, of course), giving them a proper bath, whilst holding them down under the water long enough to get all the dirt out,

and then...

Only then do you commence a missile campaign that would last 100 years.

He's got a long way to go before posing as a Yank.

MSNBC says that the Mumbai Chief of Police says the attackers have all been rounded up and they are in a wrapping up stage.

The reporter claims that the Taj Hotel is still burning (at two locations within the hotel) and the sound of gun-shot bursts are still being heard coming from inside the building.

An attacker has taken a Jewish Outreach Center with several hostages. Police have surrounded the building. The attacker has been in touch with the local news media, but the US media is saying what they are discussing...

Now MSNBC says the attacker, inside the Outreach Center is in negotiations with the govt. officers.
 
It's sad to see how incensed Muslims become when their prophet is insulted and how willing they are to protest en masse.

However they seem to keep a low profile after terrorist attacks, committed in the name of their religion.

It is true actually - I think there needs to be more open condemnation of these kind of atrocities from the top level of religious leaders of the various Islamic sects.
Needs to come right from the top in Mecca and also from the big mosques in Pakistan, North Africa etc as well or it will not get the message across that Muslims do not want these things to happen in the name of Islam.
 
Brooke satchwell(used to be on neighbours, pretty fit, big mouth though) apparently hid in a broom closet. Then ran out when she could and saw a couple of dead bodies on the way :( . Situations like this really make you doubt humanity.

why should they ?

an insult against prophet mohammed (pbuh) is an insult to every muslim but what these terrorists are doing is totally un-islamic.

Maulana Qari Mohammad Usman Mansoorpuri, president of the Jamaiat-Ulama-i-Hind, called terrorism the most serious problem facing Islam, The Hindu reported. He blamed Islamic radicals for their actions and the news media for failing to distinguish between the radicals and the majority of Muslims.

"We have no love for offenders whichever religion they might belong to," he said. "Our concern is that innocents should not be targeted and the career of educated youth not ruined. The government should ensure transparency in investigation."

India has the world's second-largest Muslim population after Indonesia, although Hindus outnumber Muslims. The meeting was also expected to address issues like national integration.

"Islam rejects all kinds of unjust violence, breach of peace, bloodshed, murder and plunder and does not allow it in any form. Cooperation should be done for the cause of good but not for committing sin or oppression," the fatwa written at the Darul Uloom Deoband, India's foremost Islamic seminary.

Islam has nothing to do with what these people do, they think it does, but it doesnt.
