It’s Carrick you know
You live in a country which has jailed 1.5 million people in the Gaza strip, you're in no position to talk
Suicide for any reason, or the use of one's body to turn into a bomb, is not allowed in Islam, and it is not martyrdom. Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) has clearly drawn a line separating martyrdom from suicide. He had strongly repudiated the term martyrdom from those who deliberately took their own lives in the course of battle, even the soldier suffering from sever wounds. The Muslim fighter enters battle not with the intention of dying, but with the conviction, that if he should die, it is for reasons beyond his control.
Martyrdom is the will of God, not of any human being. Thus suicide bombings and other suicide attacks in the name of 'Jihad' are not Islamic, and the perpetrators are not 'Mujahideen' In fact these are against the two basic principles of War laid down in the Holy Quran. In Islam, firstly, no one has the right to take his own life, and secondly no one is allowed to attack and kill non combatants, whether or not they are Muslims. Islam dictates to protect innocent people.
So, terrorist acts committed by people having Muslim names have nothing to do with Islam, nor with 'Jihad'. These are all political acts committed in the name of Islam, and false martyrdom.
Don't be daft, Sultan. Qaradawi is one of the most influential Sunni clerics, and his interpretation of terrorism as some divine justice is far more dangerous than you and Nistlerooy not taking the streets in protest after 7/7.
There are nutjobs in any religious groups of human beings. It's the platform these people are given, and the number of followers they attract that make a difference. We're talking Muslim Brotherhood, Al Jazeera and IslamOnline here, which means 100's of million of people here hearing those words of wisdom whereas nutcase settler Rabbies are denounced and ridiculed by 95% of the Israeli popualtion and kept off any semi-respectable media channel.

How about I quote proven terrorists/influential Zionists who have been given the very top platforms of being your countries leaders?
You're aim in this thread is throwing salt on fresh wounds to justify your countries atrocities on the Palestinians.
Holyland Red:
This thread proves what a despicable, and a low human being you are. As Indians we are trying to deal with this best we can, and here you are trying to create divisions. Any decent human being would try a conciliation route.
All the quotes you could throw into this thread are irrelevant. Fortunately we had leaders who were brutal enough to keep our country alive under dangerous circumstances.
My coutnry's conflict with the Palestinians is a matter of another thread. You're wrong again regarding "my aims". You were discussing Muslim leaders taking the streets, making themselves heard against terrorism. I merely pointed out that a good start would be prominent "moderate" Sunni clerics stopping their endorsement of terrorism.
It's fascinating how people are allowed to voice their (different) opinion here until the point an Israeli joins the discussion. Then the usual suspects start talking about "his aims" and his "right to talk".
I haven't ventured any opinions in this thread other then to point out your hypocrisyYou live in a country that is responsible for more Muslim deaths and you still feel you're entitled to have your say. Nobody kills more Muslims than Muslims themselves, yet as a Muslim you feel your opinion is worth our time.
feck off
How about some of you Israelis' coming out onto the streets condemning terrorism by your wackjobs, and state controlled institutions?
Don't reply to that, only Muslims are terrorists.
feck off
Mumbai is being targeted because of the number of US companies that have moved jobs over there. Citigroup have thousands of workers and contractors in the area, and American managers make trips over to Mumbai. I bet they will have a tough job finding people willing to make business trips to the area now.
Do you ever wonder why you and your country have no friends?
what a prick you are. Dickhead.
Try living under constant threat and tension for six decades, never knowing when it's going to hit you, pea brain! What a fecking ridiculous thing to say. London boy.
Sultan there is certainly more protest coming from Israelis against their own government policies than there's protest coming from Muslims against the terrorism initiated by the Hamas or Hizbolah and other Islamic terrorist organizations. I suspect it is partly because an Israeli is capable of thinking free and detached from any religiously influenced ideology while I wouldn't claim the same for an Egyptian, Jordanian, Iranian etc.
The reality of the present situation is also incomparable. You can complain about the way how Israelis treat Palestinians if you want but who's gonna complain about the killings of Christians and the burning of their churches that happen on daily basis in some Muslim dominated countries like Egypt, Sudan, Pakistan, India etc. (the killing of Jews is of course mostly limited to Israel because there are hardly any Jews left in muslim countries)? The extend of terrorist actions committed by Muslims worldwide exceeds by far anything Israelis could possibly do on their small, disputed piece of land. That, at least, is a statistical truth.
Is it only the Israelis living under such conditions?
Palestinian lot is very much worse.
Stop being blinkered.
I never said only Israelis live under such conditions. Yet I think that the Palestinian youth has no reason to be afraid that a Jewish suicide bomber might blow himself up while they're sitting in a cafe and smoking shisha.
And you know exactly that those 1.4 million Palestinians would not have to live under such conditions if their Muslim brothers would invest in Gaza and WestBank instead of building artificial islands and golden towers in deserts.
Very much of an exaggeration to say Christians being killed, Churches being burned everyday. Check the last an Israeli was killed in Israel, as compared to the daily killing field Palestine has become.

No, they live with the fear of being bombed from the air instead
Israel controls the seaports, airspace and almost all the land border of the Gaza strip, it is impossible to conduct business under such circumstances
invest in Gaza? Israel stopped the UN from sending in vital food supplies to those jailed in the Gaza stip just recently, you're right that Palestinian youth don't need to be afraid of Jewish suicide bombers, they'd have to be afraid of not being able to eat and starvation because israel decides not to let in food and medical aid, not to mention fear of seeing their houses bulldozed to make way for illegal jewish settlements.

On the other hand a Muslim is safe in any other country in the world (apart from Israel as you might say). By safe I mean that a Muslim does not have to fear he is going to be killed or at least he doesn't have to live with the constant awareness that losing his life is a real possibility.
True
They'll probably get blown up by helicopter gunship.
How often has it been said that business can get back to 'normal' if various Palestinian groups would finally stop firing hundreds and thousands of rockets over into Israel? You know who really controls the Gaza strip, it's not the Israelis, it's the Hamas.
Remember on your own doorstep a few years back?
Loads, have the various steps the Palestinians have taken over the years lead to normalcy? No. For months theres been a ceasefire in Gaza which was recently ended by Israel, previously Hamas has held a ceasefire without the same coming from Israel, nothings improved, nothings got better.
Hamas controls the Gaza strip in the same way a group of prisoners will have it's leaders, in the end it's the jailers that have the power, the jailers are Israel.
really?![]()
Well... no, not really come to think of it...
Of course I do. But that was a officially a bloody war and the minority would never be safe, no matter Muslim or Christian. Before it all kicked off the only thing you'd be afraid of would be losing your job (in any possible sector) and all because of the wrong name. The situation I was describing a few posts ago concerns countries which are not in a war and where in times of peace you get killed because of your religion.
To bring this back on topic. Its approaching 48 hours since the beginning of this attack but the end seems to be in sight. Initial reports say around 9 terrorists have been killed and a similar number captured alive. Reports vary but there may be between 3 to 5 of them still holed up in 2 locations holding several hostages.
The city has been tense all day with reports of renewed firing (subsequently denied by the police) at the main railway station and a major hospital. Life is getting back to normal outside South Mumbai. The stock market reopened and recovered early losses to trade slightly higher.
Too early to begin the post-mortem but there can be no doubt that this has been planned and executed by a major terrorist organisation... not the self-styled Deccan Mujahideen which has claimed credit. The nature and sophistication of the weaponry and the organisation and training of the terrorist seems to point to things originating abroad. It cannot be denied though that they have had substantial local help. We have a lot of introspection to do - both short term on how to stop these attacks and long term on how to resolve the level of angst especially among urban Indian Muslim youth that leads thems to participating in something like this.
Its been an especial shock this time because this is the city I love and these are the places I have grown up in. I've had a hundred beers in Leo's and traveled a million times through through VT. I cannot believe they are now war zones.
It is the Hamas which is responsible for the distribution for food and oil supplies and the distribution of money which is being sent from the Abbas' PA over to Gaza. And again, posters who mention Israels recent embargo on UN supplies do not mentions the firing of at least 170 rockets on Israel previous to the embargo.
Can't think of a better definition for the so called "vicious circle".
frosty you spammer I just noticed you have over 8000 posts..
