Manchester United Vs Derby County

I wouldn't be bothered about this really because it's a pointless cup and we can do without the fixture congestion to concentrate on the league campain however at this point in the competition I would like us to win and get to the final.

I reckon we'll play a stronger side than in the 1st leg , Fergie got the midfield badly wrong that game and Derby had free roam. I reckon we will win 2-0. not so sure about the team.

I read that today in the Sunday Express with quotes from Fergie. I was considering making a post about this much earlier in the day but I decided to wait until the actual squad is announced for the game tomorrow. It would be a nice surprise if he managed to make his debut. Hopefully he has a good level of sharpness because we really want to win this game.

Definitely closer to the mark IMO.

However with Park not having played for two matches i could see him being in the Starting XI. And with Manucho now off at Hull, Welbeck too.
 
To be fair, for all of Vidic's hard work at the back, our attacking players and midfielders will use my energy.

In most of our games, we pass it around the midfield and spend more time int he opponents' half. Our defence can just stand there lol.
 
It would be great if young Tosic gets a run out, but prior to the first leg there was talk of Fabio coming into the squad and that failed to materialize. So I won't get my hopes up.

I'm actually looking forward to a League Cup game, I can't believe it.
 
As long as United win by a few goals I dont really care who plays, it would be nice to see Tosic and Fabio get a game though, but that will happen in time regardless, the result is what is gonna be important for this one.

I think it goes straight to penalties as it used to be extra time but they abandoned that as managers complained. Could be wrong mind, that could be only for quarters.

This is being shown on sky sports 1 for those interested.
 
Fergie should rest as many first team players as possible or at least they who played regularly as we looked a bit tired recently

Something like this would be good. Fabio probably won't play (may not even be fit enough) but would be good to see him and JOSH could be rested. I'd rest Giggs as well. Scholes could do with a game.

fergie mentioned macheda when he was talking about manucho going out on loan , talked about chester when evans was a doubt and the others are just expected to make their debuts some time soon

Is that the confirmed squad for the game?

If so would be good to see Macheda get some playing time - especially after his performance in the reserves last week
 
I'd be very surprised if Tosic plays, he hasn't played since the beginning of December I don't think so even if he does play I won't be expecting anything from him.

Sir Alex praised Macheda the other day when Manucho went out on loan saying how much he'd come on this season. So maybe we might see him.
 
I would play this team. Fergie said he would give first teamers a rest after our hectic schedule so its difficult to guess who will be left out. Vidic, for example, needs a break since Spurs on Saturday is a big game for us. This team would do well in attack, although there are potential weaknesses in defence. But we need to play for a win anyway...
