Havent read any before but he wont make it at united, along with gibson and im having doubts about anderson still after another rubbish display. is it against his religion to attack. get well soon however.

I wonder how quick you were to dismiss Fletcher...

WTF??? If you dont see the potential and talent in Anderson, you're clueless. And nice that you dismiss players at the age of 20...

I thought he was one of our better players yesterday

At (just) 18 I think he's a great prospect. He's intelligent and his inter-play is excellent. I thought he partnered Tevez extremely well last night. I really wonder what some of you guys expect from kids of his age ??! At his tender age he's had a handful of first team outings and has done very well - now he's being rated, slated etc. Some of you really need a reality check, you really do.......

Danny played a key role in 3 of our goals yesterday. He assisted Sheasy, his run won the corner Tevez scored from and he played Carlitos through for the penalty.

Im excited by his loyalty so young; He's obvious GOOD enough to play in the prem already, no denying that he's better than alot of clubs strikers, but he's a raw talent with lots of potential.

The fact he wants to stay and develop with us is awesome, but one would wonder if he's better off here waiting

He is a good player but he is not physically equipped to handle 90 minutes per week. He is better off staying at United for the next three seasons at least. How many 18 year olds can claim to be a first team striker at a top European Club, not that many.

hes very fresh and young, im sure it will come, hes got good physical attributes and skill. Good Potential I think but very green still. Getting good experience at the moment but I cant see him skinning premiership defenders just yet.

Everytime Danny has made a step up in his career he took a little time to settle and then pushed on again. I remember when he first lined out for the reserves I was expecting so much but it didnt really happen for him at the start. I expect the same thing from him in the first team. He still has loads of development in him both technically and physically. At 18 hes a great prospect anyone who disagrees is clearly blind.

I stand corrected. And an excellent pass it was too. Fair play to the lad.

No no no Pogue, that is not the way of the Caf. You must ignore facts and evidence and stick intransigently to whatever half baked opinion you previously presented when drunk. What are you thinking?
Danny's got ''the thing" though, that's for sure. How he progresses will be exciting to watch. He will have been learning much from playing with the first team rather than the reserves and I hope he gets given more games before the end of the season.
The easy glib judgement of the 'Tards after watching him play a couple of times will, I hope, look as daft as ever in a few years. With all the necessary provisos to do with injury and opportunity, of course.

Nani played the excellent pass that led to the chance for Ronaldo just after Derby got their first, that's probably where people are getting mixed up

To put this "he's definitely not going to make it" bullshit into perspective this is a lad who technically should still be playing academy football at his age but who is instead playing for the european and world champions and not really looking out of place. He has scored a couple of goals and set up a few and has made a positive impact on every game he has played in bar the Derby away where he never got the ball. This is a lad who Fergie who normally keeps things fairly close to his chest with young players has been calling a future star since he was 15. This is certainly evidence enough for me that the lad has a big future and I think some of you slating him really need to get a grip

really? hehe - that told me

Campbell reminds me of a raw Defoe when I see him play/finish

Campbell is a nightmare for a defender because he is so lightning quick and he runs at everything. He is the kind of striker who will get your team 5-6 penalties a season in addition to the goals.

If his overall play is good enough - now that is another matter.

Welbeck has the potential to be better than Campbell - people seem to forget he is 18 years old. They can't all be like Rooney and Ronaldo at the age of 18.

nail meets head. good post

You are the biggest moron on the Caf. That includes Murph and GusHiddink so please do us a favour and feck off.

The kid looks to have good technique though believe he would benefit from a loan spell to lower league club or bottom table EPL team. Kid needs regular football, and learn how to deal with hard defending and how to create space.

We need to give both Campbell and Wellbeck the chance to develop. Strikers don't usually peak until 26 or 27 so I think its premature to pull the plug on them or say they are overrated. Wellbeck should be on the field for the last 15 minutes of every game so he can get more playing time. When was the last time we had a home grown striker consistently starting? If we don't give our young strikers a chance then they'll never develop.

No he shouldn't. That's crazy talk.

I'm not so sure about that.

Campbell has pace to burn, Welbeck has been invisible the last two games.

So did Bellion, and we all know how folk feel about him around these parts.

Welbeck played some nice touches last night and looked miles better than he did in the first leg.

Welbeck is still young in terms of not only age but also first class football.

I think we will be able to asses him a lot better next season when he has at least been involved with the first team this season.

He's going to have a future as a winger... people slateme for it but in the reserves and Academy he played his best football coming off the flank.

Regardless i'm excited by him, he's still young, like Rafael & everyone else we need patience because the finished product may still be a decade away.

He'll be a gem, i'm more than excited by his potential

So by age 28 he'll finally come into his own :( If that's the case might as well get rid of him now. The striker position is not one you can twiddle your fingers with like Fletcher in midfield. I expect by 21 he's either made it as somewhat proven or he's dropped. Frankly I haven't seen anything of a decent mind of technique to think he'll stay. Yes he's 18 but just not impressed with looking at other 18 year old strikers.. Always disappointed with our academy and strikers to be honest...

Which other 18 year old strikers are you comparing him to? Welbeck's technique is fantastic right now.

Bojan Krkić, do I need to say more?

Stevan Jovetić just turned 19 but he's been on fire the few club games I've seen and for country he's been fantastic.

From what I've seen neither Krkic or Jovetic are far ahead of Welbeck. In fact Jovetic from what I have heard has hardly set Fiorentina alight since he has started while Krkic just like Welbeck is a back up striker for a top club.

Welbeck has impressed like it or not, if he had a flashier name he would be deemed as one of the most prodigious talents in the game.

Right IF he did but he hasn't and hasn't gotten close.

Please don't compare Welbeck and Krkić. Even with tinted glasses it's obvious to see at roughly the same age, Krkić has done far more than Welbeck. Last season for a period of time he was bagging goals in fun for Barca while Welbeck has struggled to exert himself in matches and can hardly be called on with 15 minutes to go to change the game. Krkić was even meant to have been invited by Spain to play in Euros, Welbeck isn't even close to getting a spot on England's bench. Sorry mate just don't see it.

Jovetic- well to each his own but he was giving Milan quite the trouble last weekend. Quick, can read the play, can hold onto the ball, good hard shot, the attributes for a classic striker.
