Congratulations to Twisted Woody. 22 comments in this thread altogether. 14 negative, the other 8 weren't about the action on the pitch.

I'm having one of those days, what do you want from me? To be Captain Optimistic all the time?
He's a twisted bastard.![]()
Yes, I also want you to wear a cape.
All about fitness at this stage. We'll learn alot more when we go to Munich
Those matches will tell us where the squad is in terms of overall fitness and chemistry.
Muppetry aside - I am concerned about the attack. It's essentially been gutted with the departures of Ronaldo and Tevez. Berbatov is a question mark. Owen looks decent but we'll see if he's consistent. Macheda isn't EPL quality just yet. Welbeck, we'll have to wait and see I guess since he's at the U 19's.
Rooney just did sub-zero's slide from Mortal Kombat.
Fatality.
I think if you compare it with Liverpool's 180 minutes with no goals, no ideas (even though their Spanish contingent is missing), and them being the principal threats, I'd say we are a shoo in for the Premier League.
But that's now how it works now, is it?![]()

Is rooney playing behind or in front of berba?
If you really are basing those concerns on the very first two games of pre-season then I'm afraid it's impossible to put muppetry aside. All we've seen from these games is that Owen and Macheda both look sharp and up for it, while Rooney and Berbatov are both a bit rusty but still capable of opening the opposition up. Oh noes.
I'm basing it on the obvious. We've had an attack of Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez and Saha/Berba for the past 2-3 years.
All of a sudden two pieces of that attack are gone, and new pieces introduced. It's going to take time to gel.
Oh dear. "Edna" on MUTV post-game phone-in, who sounds about 100 years old, is saying how she is heartbroken that Tevez has gone but not bothered about that Ronaldo who got Rooney sent off in the World Cup and how she never forgave him...
Any news on Fabio? Shoulder again?
No crap England manager or ageing model jokes please.
What's any of that got to do with today's game? Like I said, 2 goals in 2 games from Michael Owen - and a goal from Macheda today - should be reason to be optimistic, not an excuse for another moan.
Looked like his right ankle. Hopefully not too serious as he was seen on the bench watching the match afterwards.
The Da Silvas really are made of glass. Just as well we took advantage of a two for one deal.
I know Fabio was stretchered off but was it serious or just a precaution?
No idea. But, like Sinch said, I don;'t think he's ever finished a game he's started.
@ the muppetry.
The Caf sinks to new lows every season.
