Aaron Ramsey

Ramsey's development is obvious, there is also clearly a difference between his quality from when he first joined Arsenal to now.

He made the right career choice IMO :)

Another great finish on his left, though it is easier to get power when you're kicking across your body.

Who else thinks Ramsey made the correct career choice choosing wenger over Fergie?

feckers

QFT... and by truth i may mean lies.

Scholesy is talking crap, I remember him saying Ramsey was a fantastic talent a while ago and surely technique can't change right? :smirk:

Remember Arsenal's hyped kids in 2004?

Where are they now?

Ramsey will clearly make it, the only question is how good he will be.

The issue here is you think both us and Arsenal did everything possible and Ramsey simply choose Arsenal over us for whatever reason. The story at the time was that Ramsey was approached by Wenger, who outlined his plan for him and shown around the club and this was the motivating factor. And it makes sense. You're an 18 year old lad being courted by a lot of club, what's going to appeal to you as a footballer the most? Having the manager personally outline his plan for you, or hearing it from another player (who lets face it has no say on tactics or playing time?).

I might be wrong and the media misrepresented our pursuit of him, but it seems that while Fergie was on vacation in the US, Wenger was showing the lad around the Emirates and THAT's why he signed for them. Despite claiming that he was a united fan, and that he wanted to play alongside his idol Giggs he chose Arsenal. Their case of presenting him with a better footballing future was more compelling then ours, and if the story of how he was courted is true then i'm not sure i can argue he wasn't right to choose the team he did.

You seem to be defending our chase of the player and that's fine, but I personally don't believe we did enough to sign him. How much that hurts us only time will tell.

For 5 million he was a fecking steal. We should have done more. And yes, hypnotizing him should have been considered. It obviously wasn't... :smirk:

The small problem with what you've said there is it sounds like you're implying Ferguson isn't entitled to have a holiday during the off season, which is, of course, preposterous.

Also, I think Wenger flew Ramsay and his family over to France on a private jet.

Clichy's a stallwart at LB, and one of the best LB's doing the rounds.

Fabregas is the best midfielder in the world.

van Persie, when on the pitch, is not only scoring with ease but he's coordinating all our attacking moves.

and Sanderos is coming back from injury. Though he's shown when his confidence is up he can be a fantastic defender. Conversely he's shown when his confidence is down he can be a shambles.

He choose Arsenal because he wanted to go there, SAF and Wenger probably had little to do with the situation in terms of it as both have a proven track record with young players. I think in the end he probably wanted to live in London and also probably thought it would be easier to get into the Arsenal first team at the time.

Why even include Senderos amongst those players? Top player, top player, top player, shit player, is how it reads.

When he was around 21 he was helping Arsenal to a champions league final, and clearly when confident he can be good.

Why even bother talking about Anderson when anything good he did was 2 years ago?

Umm because this is a Manchester United forum....odd I know. Do you need to explain that more to you?

This is a thread on Aaron ramsey and a question was asked about Arsenal's 2004 youngsters... odd i know. Do you need me to explain that more to you?

Christofaux I don't think it was Alex that was making the poo-poo posts, in fact he certainly wasn't. He just said the rock was crap, which he's entitled to do... And many other have.

We know what Sanderos is like though. When he's back hopefully his confidence will come with him, but the longer I don't see him play/move on, the worse it will surely get.

Yeah and and you were the one who brought up Anderson. Here's a hint, your posts appear to the right of your screen name, still confused?

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

i didn't bring Anderson up someone else did in this thread.

I edited my post, but like I said he's entitled to his opinion on Sanderos. God knows most people would hold the same one.

The bold part above, that constitutes bringing Anderson up, someone else might have but you did as well.

Senderos isnt a league one player, but come on he is nowhere near as good as the 3 other players that were mentioned in the post that I quoted.

I mean your Quincy Owusus and your Jeremie Aliadieres. We'll see how Ramsey ends up.

Aliadiere suffered injury setback after injury setback. When on form it was clear to see the kid had class.

Larsson is now a central player for brum as well.

Muamba's at Bolton. Quincy's at some Russian side, not that he got more than one or two first team appearances with us.

Larsson's at the Brum who're exceeding all expectations so far.

Form is temporary, class is permanent, therefore Aliadiere was never a very classy player.

Ah yes, I can't believe I forgot about him. And he is our back-up CB when he isn't injured, he's not half bad either.

Then there is bendtner.

Gilbert is still with the club but im not sure how much longer.

Lupoli is playing for Ascoli.... and left Arsenal too early by his choice.

He made the right career choice IMO :)

Yeah, I'd agree with that. His playing style fits the gooners a lot more, though as you say he's developed a lot in the past [2?] years.

Ramsey will be top class, no doubt about it.. he has the same vibe about him that Rooney, Ronaldo had at the same age albeit he's a central midfielder. Unless he gets injured I can only envisage great things.

Senderos is a donkey.

It makes me sick that Arsenal paid £5million for Ramsey, while we payed £18 million for Anderson. And they got the better player.

Not so sure about that comment, Ramsay while has shown great improvement this season still has plenty of improving to do. Though the same can be said for Anderson, haven't seen him play more recently but has looked a bit hit and miss at times.

Yea, I was choking on my vomit when we won the double with Anderson an ever-present in midfield. It's been pretty hard to take.

Your double win wasn't down to Anderson and to call him ever present in that midfield is pushing it, Carrick, Scholes and Hargreaves were all clearly better than him that season.

Nah, Hargreaves had his moments but they were few and far between, really. Scholes really wasn't at his best either, though that was one hell of a strike against Barca.

Fabregas isn't even a starter for his national team let alone the best midfielder in the world.

van Persie was bought in 2004 at age 21 and can hardly be considered one of Arsene's kids...

He's not even in the top 3 of Spanish midfielders.
