Manchester United Vs. Aston Villa

Got off to a bad start, very poor from Vidic to concede the early penalty. He was lucky not to be sent off as he looked the last man. It didn't take us long to get back level. Good burst from Berba, he got tackled but the ball fell nicely to Owen who put it away. Shame for him pulling up with injury, but that means our Wayne is on.

Park has been great, more like that from him int he 2nd half. He was unlucky not to score just on half time there, hit the post. We ended the half very well. More of that in the 2nd half and we could go on to win this.

anyone have a Veetle / mac friendly link please? If, so, PLEASE PLEASE PM me!!!!

Thanks

Missed most of the game so far due to today being viewing day for selling the house but at least thats over now so i can watch the 2nd half in peace. Managed to catch Owens goal which he took well and Park was unlucky with his chance right before the end of the half so more of that please without the defending being a bit suspect from reading the other posts here.

i thought the foul occured outside the box and when gabby went down the freekick should have been awarded from outside the box.

regardless Vidic has been shit but i dont know what we could expect from him as he hasnt played much at all.

other then a few issues at the back we have dominated and should be ahead.

Will have to watch it again , I thought it was a pen.
More games is what Vidic needs , second half hopefully he will of calm down a bit and just get on with it

BBC pundits basically point out that their pre match predictions were spasticated.

Now saying the reason Dowd didn't send Vidic off or book a United player for so long is cos he's scared of SAF

Great game of football this.

I really wish we would stop shooting from outside of the area all the time. It's like they've all caught Gibson-fever, and it's ruined at least 4 good opportunities in front of Villa's goal.

I'm loving Park in this new role of his where he's allowed to roam freely about the pitch.

I thought Owen was great the little time he was on the pitch. The Villa defenders didn't know how to handle him when he dropped deep. Also glad he managed to get a goal before injuring himself, as I had £100 on him to score.

Valencia has been anonymous and the two times he finally did get the ball he failed the delivery. THat being said, I reckon we'll see a lot more of him in the second half as Rooney tends to look for him whenever he's got the ball.

Fletch has been great as well. People who say he's nothing but a ball winner must be blind, he makes some very neat moves which creates space for himself.

Carrick needs to stop taking our free kicks.

I'm nervy as feck when Evans or PIG has the ball at their feet.

Good half - some sloppy play and can I say how can a team like United be so pathetic at set pieces, it's embarrassing.

I thought Owen was doing great, Berbatov was playing really well, he was running all over the pitch and Park had a great half, unlucky not to score.

There was a clear handball also - linesman saw it, can see Dowd not seeing it but, it was right there for the it.

Balloons are annoying me and keep fearing they are going to cause us to lose a goal.

Edit: Oh and Carrick needs to do something or Scholes needs to come on. I think he'll own this game.

HT thoughts:

* Pitch is a disgrace, have seen better pitches on local parks. Its not doing any of the players a favor, too many divots. Wouldn't be surprised to see a player get injured because of it. Perhaps Owen was the first victim?
* Park has been best player on the pitch
* Passing not up to usual standards from both sides. Again im going to blame the pitch rather than nerves
* Vidic doesn't look fit

Seriously, I think my blind hatred for Ji Sung Park is clouding my judgement. Other than miss two brilliant chances, what has he done of note?

What has he ever done to hate him? Not the best player in the world but feck it all teams need a worker.

But today he has reminded me of his old PSV days. Not only working hard but also showing a lot of quality getting forward

A part of me wishes that we were playing the dippers. The BBC would be in meltdown, Bradley would even come back to life in disgust over Vidic

i guess i have to look at the rules if the ref allowed play to continue and the foul then comes in the box is it a penalty? I assume it is. In the end i think the ref got it right the penalty and vidic staying on the pitch.

Park has been very good. He's really stepped up today and so unlucky not to score.

watched the pen again and a clearer pen you will never see.
Very lucky to be still on the pitch , but thats past now.
Would be funny if Vidic got the winning goal , Gray would be foaming at the mouth.
Sky pundits are fecking shit , Rednap is an arse

omg bbc coverage is terrible its borderline hatred sometimes

HT Thoughts:

However much Shearer is frothing, Vidic had to be sent off, but Dowd totally bottled it. Since then he's failed to book at least another 3 that were nailed on yellows and was rapidly losing control of the game at the end of the half.

The pitch is dreadful, absolutely dreadful for the showpiece "home" of English football.

Park & Berbatov have been great.

Vidic, Evans and Carrick have been dreadful.

Oh, so was it a different Dowd that sent TWO of our players off last season away to Fulham?

i didnt realise this was on the BBC until someone mentioned Shearer - was watching it on my Sky Sports app on my iphone. Bah.

We dont have a free kick nor a corner kick taker and this is hurting us quite a bit. We are just wasting possession by kicking the ball right to the Villa defense and giving them a chance to counter attack.

Both deserved to go last season

I am only online now at half time. Are people honestly saying it should not have been a red?
