I hope Neville, Scholes and Giggs start on the bench. If we get in trouble or need some experience we can always bring them on, but it's time to look forward and trust the players who are going to lead this team in the next few years.

I have a feeling we are going to suffer a 2-2 draw and get dumped, but even that's the case I want to see SAF give Macheda a start. I don't think Berba can do the job by himself.

I'm not a huge fan of 442 in Europe but we have to take a calculated gamble at home. The team needs to get freshened up. Get some youth in there and tell them to have a real go.

We can win, but we need to infuse some energy into our game.

I have no problem if we get knocked out, but atleast lets give it a go. Play 4-4-2, start Macheda, leave out the tired legs of Giggs/Scholes.

In mini slumps like these we need to get back to the basics. 4-4-2, stop fannying about with crowded midfields and isolated strikers.

An injection of youth, determination, fire, fresh legs and flair will win it for us.

Age, tiredness, weary legs combined with routine, predictable play will lose it.

Scholes and Giggs have both said that it takes them a week to recover between matches, Neville's probably the same, so why do we play them twice a week.

I'd play Nani right so no place for Valencia, Giggs can always create chances so even though he was poor today I'd play him, plus he can tuck in if we start getting over run.

I like the look of this team.

Playing Berba up front on his own again would be a disaster.

Tell that to Fergie, we all know he is gonna end with Berbs again alone doing feck all.

Also just dont play Neville, he is just not good enough to close down Robben or Ribery, put Rafael or even Oshea, i have more trust in them even with less games.

This is what I'd like to see but I reckon Fergie will start with Berbatov up top alone. My big worry is they were all over us in midfield without Schweinsteiger and he is back for this second leg, so I'd rather we played two strikers and try to pin them back rather than battling for midfield.

I was really confident about this game until today. But after being served up dross for the second game running i'm not too sure.

Yeah, 2 points from top with 5 league games to go, our season over

I can't see us recovering from this in the league now to be honest. We've got some tough games to come and without Rooney we'll struggle to get 3 points from a very confident City side.

The only game I can't see us winning is the City one, but then we don't have to. A draw will do. 85 points will win the title, 13 points from our remaining 15 will be enough.

I hope you're right. You probably are. I can barely think. I've now been awake for 25 hours.

I know that for some strange reason, United fans thinks its fashionable to have a pop at Bebartov (maybe you think it makes you look cool?) but how can you put a team forward that not include him?

Stop being such an arse.

Like the look of this team. its has lots of pace and energy about it as well as some balls with the likes of Vidic, Fletcher and Macheda running through its spine. If that tea,m played to its potential, it would win comfortably. we just need our guys to perform as they know they can.

sammsky... Until yesterday I was as supportive as Berbatov's mother when he is at quastion... But yes... From yesterday things changed... When a striker who is worth 30 mil. cant score from 4 good chances in the most important match of the season its quite frustrating... What makes you so sure that he will against Bayern.. .We need goals and freankly he cant delever.... Maybe We should gave him Scholes position to be useful for us.... For me... Striker, he is not.... To be just goal away from OWN GOAL player and you are a striker is not fantastic.... For striker to be good he has to score goals.... Has to... Thats why the name is striker.... Macheda proved that he can come with pressure and Berba proved that he cant... Thats why for this and for all big games we should use Macheda and for all Bolton, Hull, Wolves, Portsmoth like of teams Berba will "crash" them... To be a good players you have to score against big clubs... Tell me against who of the big 6 berba did score??? Macheda scored against Chelsea ;) and he played only one game so far.. ;)

Do people here see a possibility of Bayern not scoring? How is their away form in the CL?

Kiko has to start. I'm just praying that SAF doesn't go for a front line of Berba and Giggs.

Rooney'll be back. I'd rather have him with one leg than our other strikers.

Yep. A lot of us seem to be in agreement that this should be the team.

If Berbatov starts as a lone frontman i suspect it would be exactly the same outcome as yesterday.

I'd go with this line-up. Not sure what the situation is with Diouf, but if he's available I'd like to see him get some time on the pitch too as I think he could get on the end of some of the crosses. Play at a high tempo, lots of energy, get the ball wide then fire in as many quality crosses as possible.

Where do you buy those tinted glasses from? We don't want to sound like the scousers from last year who we mocked, now do we? Its over get over it. Only a miracle can save us now, and with five games to go there is no room for a draw at City.

Anyone that thinks Berbatov shouldn't start and that we should play an inexperiencd 18 y o on his own upfront in a must win game is crazy imo

Park has scored against Milan, Arsenal and Liverpool this season. In which big games has Berbatov scored since he came to United? I can remember him scoring the 3rd goal against Chelsea at home, any others?

In what big games has he played? He's our number 1 forward in the absence of Rooney, surely theres no doubt about that. I'm not disputing the selection of Park, just the omission of Berbatov for an 18 y o in a must win game.

Personally i'd start both of them.
