Premier League: 02/03 October

0-0 in the Wigan/Wolves game at HT. Henry sent off for Wolves.

I remember Franco Di Santo was meant to be the next best thing once upon a time, looks devoid of talent at the moment.

He really does nothing at all, not big, not super quick, doesn't possess a big bag of tricks, I know strikers are hard to come by for teams at the bottom of the league, but a big bruiser is of more use than he is.

I suppose Martinez in his madness thinks he is a 'flair player' and not a donkey.

Yeah and he doesn't appear to have any great poachers instinct either.

If he's a flair player I'd worry for Wigan as he looks completely out of his depth and devoid of ideas as soon as the ball reaches him.

Was hoping to see Cleverley today too which isn't helping my lack of interest in this game.

Wigan turning it around?

I hope so. There seemed to be a Martinez is a Wenger sympathizer and ABU movement at one point but from what I've heard of his time at Swansea he is a very decent bloke and he certainly wants to play the game in the correct way.

I'm going to the Man City v Newcastle game tomorrow.

Man Utd: Van der Sar, Rafael Da Silva, Ferdinand, Vidic, O'Shea, Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Anderson, Macheda, Owen.

Subs: Kuszczak, Evra, Berbatov, Smalling, Hernandez, Gibson, Bebe.

From the Beeb. Good that Rafael is getting a shot again at Right back.

The thread title is confusing. Doesnt help when you still think you're in September.

So everyone hoping for a draw in the Chelsea - Arsenal match(other than their fans), to minimize the damage from our draw?

Not looking likely is it, Arsenal without Fabregas, Van Persie, forget which of their joke keepers is out this week, plus a couple of players missing at the back

Nasri will have to have a barnstormer for them to get anything from the match.

I really don't see us getting any sort of result against Chelsea with those absentees. Hoping for a draw but can't see it happening.

A point at best for me

We've frankly got nothing to sustain a physical assault against Essien and the rest of em'

Also too many big players out injured for us to threaten them with our much weaker squad

And even if we do get good performances from outfield players you can bet your bottom dollar our keeper will throw one in for them to balance it up :annoyed:

Comfortable win for Chelsea imo 3 or 4 -1

This might just be one of those days when we get something off Chelsea, despite all the odds. I don't know why all the other Gooners are being so negative here. I know all our players are injured, but we've known for a long time that we have to play 90% of the season with our second string. Keep the faith.

My local papers live update is saying Ben Arfa is down and receiving oxygen after a tackle.

Is it Valencia serious?

Looks like Ben Arfa is getting stretchered of, but maybe nothing too serious, he's waving to the crowd.

Tackle wasn't nasty or anything, just a bit of a collision between two players, but he doesn't look in that much pain, or that upset.
