Aaron Ramsey

'I'm sorry I broke Aaron Ramsey's leg'. It's not that hard is it.

If he said it in public you'd still find a way of having a go at him.

An apology is between himself and Ramsey, not the whole world. Theres no need to make it a big public thing. He's apologised to Ramsey in private, and that really should be the end of the matter.

Actions speak louder than words, I am sure he said that on the pitch, but as I said he is in a no win situation. Arsenal's players have lashed out with at least 10 worse challenges on United players in the last 5 years....and by 10 I mean many more than that

Not to Storey, he hasn't.

Yeah, he would know.

I think this is getting a bit absurd, Arsenal players have literally attacked United players on the pitch with far more malice than this tackle. There were a couple of iffy tackles when United were beating them at Emirates this year as well, ones that they certainly wouldnt have done if they werent getting the shit kicked out of them

What a fking spastic

Listen in the first 6 years of the last decade your manager has admitted openly that the only way to get near us in the days of Bergkamp Henry Vieira etc etc was to kick us and for nigh on what would be maybe 15 matches over that time you kicked the living shit out of us as a policy in almost every fking game

A lot of the time it never worked because we had the capbility of kicking you back with interest but as time wore on it did work and as our older harder players retired and were replaced by younger soft touches it worked a treat so much so that half of the rest of the Premier league followed suit so it became the way to actually beat us.

I wont complain at our inabiity to deal with it - that's down to Wenger but if you want to look nto systematic brutal premeditated aggression look no further than Fergusons tactics against us on countless occasions

poor ManUtd ............do me a fkin favour

Have to say now that given a week, I for one am disappointed with Wenger

It was a poor tackle but in no way malicious and clearly Aaron Ramsay's own footwork had as much to do with it as any contact so clearly no real malice intended .

It must be clear as a bell to Wenger that this is so and although I can understand his anger and frustration after previous incidents that should not stop him coming forward with an encouraging word or two for Shawcross.

There has been plenty of time for things to have calmed down so this imo is poor from le Boss

I am pretty sure Ruud never kicked out at you...but I guess ignorance is bliss.... It must be if you are Arsenal fan these days

Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger Stands By Criticism Of Ryan Shawcross '100 Per Cent'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has defended his post-match comments about Ryan Shawcross's tackle that left midfielder Aaron Ramsey with a broken leg.

The Welsh midfielder was left fractured tibia and fibula after the tackle by the Stoke City defender, a challenge Wenger branded "horrendous and unacceptable" after the game.

And the Frenchman's view does not seem to have changed after a week to reflect on the incident.

"I stand by what I said 100%," Wenger said.

"I knew exactly what would happen the whole week, that was quite easy to predict."

Wenger appreciates there is always a place in the game for tough tackling, but believes players have to be more disciplined in their approach.

"I can understand people want to be committed against us, and I have no problem with that," he said.

"I love the commitment of the English game. I don't want to change that and it makes the game even more attractive, but high commitment demands fair intention as well.

"I admire a great technical tackle as much as a creative pass.

"A tackle is an art in itself - that means you always have your eye on the ball, never with a high foot, in your tackle you can already make a pass.

"To close your eyes and go in too physical, that does not mean it is intention, but there is danger. We have some good tacklers in this league, some who are not good - but that does not mean you go into it trying to break a leg.

"It is not Arsenal against the rest of the world. What I say here is valid for the Arsenal players as well."

Arsenal eventually emerged 3-1 winners in the game against Stoke, and can supplant Chelsea at the top of the Premier League with a four-goal victory over Burnley at the weekend. Wenger is hoping his players can put the Ramsey controversy to one side and concentrate on continuing their title challenge.

"All the rest is to go into unneeded controversy. I don't see how that can help football or Aaron Ramsey," Wenger said.

"For us, Stoke was a vital victory and has put us in a good position for the rest of the season.

"It is down to how consistent we can be, how much we turn up from the first minute until the 90th minute - all that will decide our championship."

Only that, he chose to criticize Nani for showboating and said Diaby only performed a protective tackle which was similar to Eduardo's horror tackle. Never said anything about his player deserved a red and a ban for n months because it's not in the spirit of football.

He's a fecking spastic.

Arsenal's targetting of Nani that day was obscene. If you're looking for the definition of pre-meditated thuggery don't look any further. Only pure luck saved Nani's legs that day.

And all over a bit of harmless showboating - something Arsenal of course never indulge in, the difference being they do it to rub salt on the wounds of down-and-out relegation fodder, whereas we do it to them. :D

Arsenal are allowed to showboat against the Burnleys and Portsmouths of this world, and expect them to take it, but when United do it them, it's time for malicious challenges and deliberate attempts at leg-breaking.

Then they cry when one of their own gets done in a much less pre-meditated and malicious manner.

It would be laughable if it wasn't so predictable. Now it's just boring.

 at that pathetic, clingy banner. FFS, people the world over are dying, starving, homeless, disaster striken etc, but the blind Gooners can only think of someone who's getting paid millions while he recuperates from an injury.

We should start a "do it for Owen(whichever one is crocked) campaign":smirk:

heh heh - the ol' selective memory kicking in once again I see

You forget his raking of Ashley Cole's leg from knee to ankle or his over the top tackle early on against Keown in the cup game in 03

Oh wait .... maybe you do

'kin idiot

A lovely gesture from Gilberto Silva, what a class act:

It reads:

"To Ramsey
Best Recovery
Gilberto Silva"

Well his english is clearly not up to scratch.............

Aaron Ramsey steps up Arsenal comeback

Arsenal and Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey has stepped up his recovery from a broken leg ahead of an anticipated return to action in November.

The 19-year-old has been out since suffering fractures to the tibia and fibula of his right leg after a tackle by Stoke's Ryan Shawcross in February.

After months of rehabilitation work in the gym, he has begun outdoor training at the club's London Colney complex.

"It's great to be back outside and kicking the ball again," Ramsey said.

"I missed it for a long time, but it's such a good feeling to be back outside.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who set Ramsey a November target back in August, said he was delighted to see Ramsey back on the training pitch.

"You would be amazed if you saw him in training, he has suddenly in the last month made a huge step forward. If I consider now when I look at him, you see his smile again.

"He has changed since six months ago because he has the feeling that the worst is behind him and everyday he is getting closer to what he wants to be, and that means being a football player."

News of Ramsey's imminent return is also a boost for Wales, who have lost their first three Euro 2012 qualifiers in his absence.

Ramsey turned down a move to Manchester United in June 2008 to sign for the Gunners from Cardiff City in a £5m deal.

He made rapid progress after his arrival at the Emirates, making 29 appearances in all competitions last season before his injury, scoring four times.

In April he said that he accepted that Shawcross did not mean to break his leg, but added that he felt the Stoke defender could have avoided the challenge which ended his season.

"I remember everything but you just have to get on with things, and that is what I am doing," he said.

"I don't believe he wanted to break my leg but I think he wanted to go through the ball and me - to take me out and make sure I felt the tackle.

"He was caught out of position a little, but he could definitely have changed his mind before making the tackle, realising that he was not going to get there and so not committing.

"If I was tackling and saw that there was not a chance of getting to the ball cleanly, I would not make the tackle - and I don't think there was a chance of him getting there.

"He has left me a voicemail and a text message, but I just want to concentrate on my recovery for now."

To be honest, I'm just happy for Shawcross. Now that Ramsey is back, Ryan can get on with his career knowing that he didn't end someone else's. Chuffed for the lad - it's amazing the damage a good, low, clean, fair tackle can do.

Really glad to see him back. Was one of the best young players in the world imo before the injury, better than Wilshere I would say. Only hope he can reach those levels again, could be a top world player for years to come. Still so annoyed we didn't pull out all the stops to get him, whether that be outbidding Arsenal, paying better wages, bringing Fergie back from holiday, whatever it took. It would have been worth it.

Well sending a T-Bag look a like to greet him and give him a tour did not help

Lets hope he returns in better condition than Smith and Eduardo. He has a lot of class as player.

I think it's quite an odd move. They could have nurtured him back to fitness whilst keeping a close eye on him and giving him as much time as he needs. Instead they've got to hope Forest stick to their obviously pre-determined plan for bringing him back in properly.

It's not like he wouldn't have played at Arse, Wilshere has been getting plenty of minutes and Ramsey is good enough.
