I think SAF is (perhaps unconsciously) implying that he will be here for a few more years atleast and that in itself is enough ambition for the club.
 
How exactly are we going to put this to bed?

Surely we won't make an announcement saying "Rooney is on the transfer list". So either we're accepting an offer from someone or umm what?

When we go rid of Beckham we bought an unknown Portugueezer and Kleberson for £6.5m and Djemba Djemba for £3.5m

And the fans saying "he's right, where are the signings?"..are just as bad as Rooney. Fickle fairweather fans banging on about signings. You would've exploded in self righteous indignation if the Caf was around in 95 when all the kids came through.

signing the 'very talented unknown kid from mexico' is not in anyway an assurance that we are attracting/signing the best players.

All im saying is, his points in his statement were valid, and anyone of the squad could say the same thing and it would still be valid.

People are assuming he is a money grabbing whore, despite SAF stating that the money part of the contract negotiations werent reached.

How can his motive be money, if he didnt know how much we were gonna offer him?


I dont buy the money motive, and im not naive enough to believe he is a martyr here, im sure there are lots more factors.

Only Ronaldo isn't there from the the CL winning team. We have Berbatov in place of Tevez who isn't a whole lot worse and have added Valencia. Personnel wise it's basically Ronaldo who is missing, that is all. It's just that he's such a good player that it takes time to rebuild from. Everyone should understand that.

Great players inspire teams. That's what Ronaldo did. Rooney just wants the money. I doubt he himself believes he has the ability to inspire a team like Ronaldo did with us.
 
I see that some of our fans, despite Rooney blatantly pissing in their faces, can't help but bend over backwards trying to defend him. The same thing happened with Tevez.

I find this ambition business nonsense, utter nonsense. Wayne has no business getting critical of the managers decision not to sign a big name.
