Stoke City vs. Manchester United

-------Berbatov---Henrandez--------

Bebe----Carrick---Fletcher------Nani

Evra------Vidic------Rio-------Rafael

1-1

praying for an away win...we cannot drop more points again as chelsea will surely beat wolves at home. :(

VDS
O'Shea, Rio, Vida, Evra
Fletcher, Scholes, Anderson
Nani, Chicharito, Berbatov

Bench: TK, Rafael, Smalling, Obertan, Macheda, Carrick, Gibson

Unfortunately since it is Stoke away, I think SAF will drop Rafael for O'Shea height/size though I don't think he should.

Play an inter-changing front 3 with Scholes sitting in front of the defense controlling play and Anderson/Fletcher taking care of winning possession and Anderson providing a thrust through the middle.

2-1

Berba, Carrick (yeah i said it) and a late Jones header give us all the worries.

"Unfortunately" last season O'Shea scored and was important in keeping a cleansheet against Stoke.

That was unfortunate? From your lame attempt at sarcasm, last season Nani was abysmal in that same game and people were getting fed up with him. Should we drop him since he played poorly last season against them or play him now because he is doing so well this season?

Rafael has been playing very well the last few games and O'Shea at the start of this season in my opinion has not. Thus I think it will be unfortunate if Rafael is dropped for him.

I take it Hargo may be saved for one of next week's Wolves games then?

Haven't heard anything since fergie said he was injured with that muscle injury. I think he's due back around the time of the cup game against Wolves.

Hardly the end of the world, he'll play against sides like Stoke one day but the squad needs O'Shea's height, other than Berbatov there isn't really a player over 6ft 1 in the forward six positions. Stoke's average height is around 6ft 2/3 and there would be only Berba, Edwin, Rio, Vidic in and around that height ... either Rafael (or Evra) will be "unfortunate" or O'Shea will play midfield ... seems reasonable enough to consider the opposition when picking a team.

Yeah but will it be the Man Utd reserves vs. Wolves reserves game on Tuesday or the Wolves reserve reserve side vs. Man Utd reserve reserves game on Tuesday?

VDS
Rafael Rio Vidic Evra
Nani Scholes Fletcher Obertan(hopefully)
Chicharito Berbatov

We'll surely play 4-3-3?

Oh and i bloody hate Stoke City and its pointless fans. All those Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime ever do is boo at the opposition and forget about supporting their own team

Reckon it will be a five man midfield of Carrick, Fletcher, Scholes, Anderson and Nani in some constellation. Back four of Rio, Vidic, Evra and hopefully Rafael. Berbatov and Van der Sar seem certain to start.

Ando for Left wing ?

Probably in some free role like has been before. Moving behind Berbatov and towards the left perhaps? God knows, we don't really have a left winger right now. Park is in pretty poor form and Obertan won't start against Stoke I think.

I want to see bebe, park will start on the left i think. which is a shame as his form is awfull.

Ando was pretty poor drifting Left vs West Brom too so an out to out winger would be a much better option whether SAF decides to go for Park/Obertan or possibly Bebe'

I agree with that. But at the same time I don't see Ferguson putting both Obertan/Bebe and Nani on the pitch from the start at Stoke.

Could obviously be wrong though. Ferguson is often a big surprise in these things anyway.

Yeah I agree. I wanna see us play with actual wingers with Obertan rather than a midfielder like Gibbo or ando on the left of midfield thus nullifying our width.

Must win? If / when Chelsea win, they go 8 points clear and we can afford to be 7 or 8 points behind em having to still face them, arsenal and city twice.

Berbatov - Hernandez
Obertan - Scholes - Fletcher - Nani
Evra - Rio - Vidic - Rafael/O'Shea
VDS

The height issue is always a worry. Obertan's pretty tall though, and we could play Carrick instead of Hernandez/Scholes, so yeah I'd like to see Rafael start if possible, but I can understand if SAF opts for O'Shea.

O´Shea ------- Ferdinand ---------------- Vidic ------------ Evra --
-------- Carrick ------------- Scholes --------- Fletcher -----------
- Nani ---------------------- Berbatov ------------------ Hernandez

Bench: Kuszczak, Rafael, J.Evans, Anderson, Obertan, Owen, Macheda

Quite simply need to win this as Chelsea look like going 8 points ahead of us.
