Stoke City vs. Manchester United

Utd XI: Vds, Nev, Rio, Vida, Evra: O'Shea, Fletch, Scholesy; Nani, Berba, Chich. Subs: Wes, Smal, Kus, Carr, Ober, Mach, Gibbo

 at the Rafael vs O'Shea debate. I think we can all agree that nobody wanted Neville :nervous: And O'Shea in midfield too :nervous:

O'shea in midfield?

Neville shouldn't be playing such a tough game at stoke, its madness....

Rafael is not even on the bench?

Well, we might score, but thats an XI that will definitely concede as well

So why not drop both Evra and Rafael and play Brown and O'Shea.

In fact lets keep going, Scholes > gone, Carrick in. Anderson, sorry son but Gibbo is superior in the air.

etc etc...

My point is, Rafael can do much more damage to Stoke than they can do to him.

van der Sar

Neville
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

O'Shea
Fletcher
Scholes

Nani
Berbatov
Hernandez

SUBS: Kuszczak, Brown, Smalling, Carrick, Obertan, Gibson, Macheda.

So, for one reason or another, no Hargreaves, Owen, Anderson, Rooney, Giggs, Park, Fabio, Rafael, J Evans or Valencia.

I thought Neville might play, but dropping Carrick for Scholes with the god-awful form the latter has been in worries me. If at some point in this game we move O'shea out of midfield without putting Carrick in his place I think I'll burst into tears, we can't possibly throw away another win due to Fergie's bizarre obsession with Scholes on his own, can we?

You could have stopped there, really.

He has played once this season and that was at least a month ago when he looked like he hadn't played for ages so I expect the same again.

carrick not in squad??

starting to lose faith in his abilty to turn things round for himself

Good line-up, apart from having 3 fullbacks in there.

Maybe Chicarito bombing down the left wing and playing 3 in CM?

Stupid team, another case of SAF bowing to the opposition. Gaz Nev right back, JOS in centre mid? feck me.

Probably the Sunderland tactics again, i.e no left side of the team :)

but hey, as the other Sharky said to me "Thats a bit ignorant Sharky number 2. We always change personel to suit the situation, even if we're not playing a big team. That's why we've named an unchanged lineup in the PL only twice in 3 years."

Neville will be in for two reasons and two reasons alone, he needs games as he's hardly played this year, and he's always been good at organising the defene, and that will be needed today from the bombardment we'll get from Stoke.

I'm not exactly happy with it myself, but that's the only reasons I can see why he's in. Mind you last year we were a little fearful when he was chosen to play against Milan and he coped way better than we thought.

Pretty much the same as at Everton really. Except with more pace up front with Hernandez instead of Giggs.

This is actually the type of game I'm happy for Neville to be playing since they don't really have any explosive wingers.

I won't comment the team until noods have had his rant;)

Where did Neville come from!?

But I guess O'Shea could do a good job in midfield. He did well against Everton.

Would definitely have Rafael over Neville though.

Nani Berba Chicharito :D
