More ref justice for Spurs

Manchester United maintained their pursuit of leaders Chelsea with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, but were aided by a controversial second goal at Old Trafford.

Spurs trailed to a Nemanja Vidic first-half header when Nani scored a debateable second goal five minutes from time to leave the visitors with a sense of injustice from another trip north

.................

The linesman flagged to seemingly disallow the goal, but referee Mark Clattenburg over-ruled his assistant and awarded the goal much to the fury of the visitors, who have been hard done by on several previous visits to Old Trafford.

Ah feck the idiots the only to be blamed here is the ref and Gomes.

First of all it was a pen. he didn't give it. Gomez had the ball so he played on an advantage, instead Gomes picks it up and then puts it down.
Nani has a look over to the ref, asking if he can play it and the ref says go on.

The tool should have just given the pen.

Forget the Nani goal. That was by far our best performance of the season. We looked so composed at the back. Apart from one or two moments from VDV I don't think Spurs caused us any trouble at all.
Things starting to look a little better now with Rio and Vida.

Berba was poor. He played too far forward he should have played like Vd Vart dropping deep getting involved.

Hernandez buzzed around but to be honest it was a tight game and we did not create that much.

Berba looked off the pace he may be carrying an injury?

The first half was very open and entertaining with both teams evenly matched, in the second half we tightened up and once VDV went off they looked out of ideas.

I thought young Rafael handled Bale really well and Park was our best attacking outlet. For me this was also Fletcher's best game this season, he was everywhere today and passed it well. I liked how Hernandez worked himself into the game after not receiving any real service.

Park is best when played as part of a front three or off the front man. He is not good on the wings. His movement, energy and persistence as well as skill nake him a nuisance of a player always available for the pass and always able to make runs drawing defenders away.

a few improvements as you say and I'd throw Carrick in there too.

I don't think we made that many chances, particularly in the 2nd half (although we could've been several goals up in the 1st) as we played it a bit more with safety first in mind after recent leaks. The whole back four looked good, midfield still lacking but some good attacking outlets. Looking forward to Giggs returning because I'd like to see him spotting Hernandez' runs.
