Gareth Bale is...The most expensive player ever?!

Bale did feck all against us, and to say hes superior to Nani is ridiculous and just goes to show how british players get hyped up far easier and quicker than certain imports, Nanis been ripping this league up since January, his stats piss all over Bales but its hardly noticed outside of this club.

Bales a great talent and id love him here but hes not better than Nani.

Take your blinkers off, will you.

Nani has been mediocre for most of his time at United. It's only over the past year or so that he's developed into a good player. Bale has, for the past year, been nothing short of amazing. Both are obviously very good players, but Bale trumps Nani in almost every aspect of his game. There is no comparison.

how can you watch a fecking game properly, go on educate us?Like you read a book? If you can't do 2 simple things at a time, having in mind you should only sit and watch at one spot that speaks volumes about your capabilities.

You shouldn't take up any surveillance job then. Or they should give you only one camera to observe.
Just try giving it 100% of your bit brain for starters.

I was making a cheesecake at the same time as watching the United game, is that allowed? Then I ate said cheesecake whilst watching the Spurs highlights. It tasted good.

Is there any left? Can cheesecake be sent via PM?

You're a decent fan but a bit of a fag.

He was very good tonight, funny though that he didnt turn up on Saturday when he wasn't allowed to play on his left foot. More great tactics from wonder Benitez again tonight.

If you need 100% of your brain to watch a football match I guess that brain capacity is not very high for starters.

I take it you do not post during Arse games?

 Welsh bias spewing from your hole.

Bale has been sensational this year, good in most parts last year, Nani has been consistently better for a little while longer though and produced goals/assists in big matches at big moments.. against Tottenham last year for one.

Hold on, why don't you give me the stats of both Bale and Nani this past year, your talking absolute bollox, Nanis been destroying top sides both domestically and in europe all this calendar year, bale certainly hs not been excellent all year either, hes been excellent since about April where as Nani had already scored twice against Bayern Munich at OT and utterly owned their defence, hed destroyed Arsenal at the emirates in that 3-1 win, hes been scoring or creating at a rate only bettered by the Messis and Ronaldos of this world, his stats for this calendar year are unmatched for a player of his type in England, a good player? hes developed into the best attacking player at Manchester United, id say hes become an exceptional player over the last 12 months, christ even Arsene wengers waxing lyrical about him today.

In his last 33 matches for us Nani has 23 assists and 10 goals, Bale dosnt even come close to that sort of consistency.

Bales an amazing talent, id love him here who wouldn't but hes not been anything like as consistent as Nani or Malouda for that matter, hes had half a dozen unbelievable games and all of a sudden hes the next georgie best, jesus, hes a special talent but ill give it another 6 months of such performances before i put him ahead of players who were destroying top sides here and in the champions league whilst Bale was embarrassing himself as a left back.

Oh and Rafael had a pretty easy time against him on saturday, as did Phil Neville the weak before come to that.

Whaaat?

Bale wasn't exactly setting the world alight in his early days at Spurs either. In fact they both came good around the same time (start of the calendar year), and I would say that over that period they've both been performing consistently at high levels. I would have a hard time picking one over the other really, but Bale does have the advantage of being three years younger than Nani.

What absolute garbage

Well with nani, i see tricks and flicks that may or may not come off, and every so oftern, he'll have a moment of brilliance that could lead to him scoring or providing an assist. Nani has moments of brilliance, in the middle of a bunch of tricks and flicks that may, or may not come of.

But with bale, its always steam rolling past the defender and either putting the ball into a dangerous area, or shooting and giving the keeper something to think about. He almost ALWAYS does this, hence why i believe hes more consistant. Just my opinion.

What an idiot you are.

When I think of what a Top Red might be, I imagine this to be a hallmark of their character

Then you shouldn't start making snide comments about other fan's rather innocuous activity's and/or judging what kind of fan they are because of it. Perhaps?

You pushed the agenda, you got a response.

Yup. Weird. Odd. Strange. Call it what you want. I just find it peculiar.

I never once called anyone any less of a fan. That was you putting words in my mouth. I never said anything of the sort. In the "other" thread earlier today I made my opinion quite clear that if there is a generation gap between football fans it's up to the old farts to adjust, or move on. There's no right or wrong way to watch football but if there is a noticeable difference it's interesting enough to be commented upon IMHO.

For someone who goes to so many games and clearly loves football as much as you do, you aren't half insecure about your status as a fan. You shouldn't take an observation about how differently people enjoy football as some kind of personal slight.

Take a few deep breaths and have a read back of the previous posts of our exchange. You'll see you went into attack mode without any justification.

He arrived at Spurs as a 17 year old. Of course he wasn't going to be setting the world alight right away, especially as a left back. Over the past year, Bale has been the superior player, without question. Nani has had his moments, but Bale has been almost consistently phenomenal. He's stronger than Nani, a better runner of the ball, has a better control of the ball, is a better crosser and has superior passing ability. The way he picked out Crouch and Pavelyuchenko tonight with such ease was outstanding. And as you say, he's 3 years younger. If given the option to swap, I have a fairly clear idea what Ferguson would do.

Recognising that Bale is a better player than Nani does not make me a Nani hater.

What absolute garbage

The problem most with Man United fans is that they are fecking deluded! Just like yourself. If Bale was our player and Nani Spurs', you wouldn't even entertain the idea that Nani is a better player.

I wouldn't be too bolshy. Top four is not guaranteed for you by a long shot, and it's a big climb-down to have to go play Europa League football next year.

Away days to Lech Poznań are nowhere near as attractive to a young ambitious player.
Neither is top 4 guaranteed for Man. United ... being complacent cuts both ways.

Who would I rather have in my team at the moment? Honestly, I've gotta go for Nani. And that's not the red-specs playing a part.

In the PL, Bale hasn't really done much in the last 6 or so games. Nothing really outstanding since the Stoke volly. Whereas Nani has been getting nearly and assist every game and a goal one in two. He's also got that extra drive to win that Bale can sometimes seem to lack. Goal against Spurs for example, that Ronaldo-esque quality of doing whatever it takes to get the win.

Oh yes, I would. Nani assists, Nani has an eye for a goal, he's creative, he's technically gifted and he even when he has to play the biggest clubs he delivers. Nani is not only better than Bale, he's also better than most other wingers in the world and pure class.

British players are so overrated, it's unbelievable. Bale better than Nani - please, what a joke.

Yup. Weird. Odd. Strange. Call it what you want. I just find it peculiar.
Well it certainly explains the bizarre match ratings and off-the-wall comments you get. Some of these prannies haven't even watched the game - I thought that was limited to 606 - 'I thought Nani was shit' - 'We're you at the game?' - 'Nah, I heard a bit on the radio'.

Yea but we're talking about Bale leaving, not Man United. He doesn't only have to go to us obviously.

As with last season, I'd be glad to see Spurs finish top four if it meant City didn't. Think you'll struggle with unfamiliar CL burden though. And yes, I fancy our chances just a little bit more.

Nani has been our best player this season, contributed a goal or assist in literally every game and has provided us with that cutting edge, the ability to take on players, his directness. He's also improved his decision making and his crossing. Take his goals against Bursaspor and Bolton for example, coming inside on his weaker foot and scoring from distance, not many wingers around can do that, Bale would find that difficult.

Bale consistently phenomenal? Like when he's been contained in recent EPL games, right? Yeah he's done very well against Inter Milan but he's probably become the most over hyped player in Europe now. If Bale has been consistently phenomenal then why is it Malouda who's been seen as the superior player in the league? I wouldn't say Malouda has been "phenemonal" either, massive hyperbole and overrating by yourself, yet you accuse United fans of being deluded on the subject of Nani.

I always love it when people compare two things and then at the end say “there's no comparison”. Tickles me.

 Although you would get that impression if Alan Green was commentating.

To put it another way, do you think Tottenham fans would trade Bale for Nani?

They're both great players with huge potential, it's a matter of personal preference and most fans are enough attached to their player to prefer him over the other.

There's a difference between saying it's a personal preference and this RedNev guy saying they shouldn't even be compared because Bale is supposedly so much better than Nani, which is a load of bollocks really. No winger in the premiership is massively superior to Nani.

Poll the 18 unbiased Premier League managers on which player they would prefer to have in their team, and I would be amazed if even one of them said Nani. And the same would apply if there wasn't an age difference.

Nani is a good to very good winger. Bale is an extremely good winger who has the natural ability to go on to be one of the very best players in the world.

Is it fair to say that someone who chooses to watch another (potentially great) match over a match that their team is playing in is a bigger football fan than United fan?

For anyone at a loss with Rednev's comments on Nani, don't worry he's not a Nani hater. He thinks Fabregas is just a 'good' player like Nani too, so you could twist his words to turn them into a compliment. He's got some erm....different opinions.
