Absolute bullshit.

Nani Premiership 2009-10 3 goals 10 assists add 3 CL assists = 13 major assists.
Park Premiership 2009-10 3 goals 1 assist add 0 CL assists = 1 major assist.

Do you actually watch football?

Can't actually respond to this post seriously. Whoosh!

Anderson is a top talent though. The more he'll play the more likely he is to become the player he can.

Nani was as creative as Park a year back.

I really don't understand what you are trying to say but I think you are saying -

Anderson improves every game and Park was as creative as Nani last year.

You are indeed an internet forum god - I bow down to your knowledge of feck all

My point was that with young players it sometimes just clicks and their game just begins to come together. By a year back I meant a year back not last season. Whenever it exactly was, there was a time not so long ago when nani was becoming very ineffectual. His decision making was poor, his delivery was bad and he was making no impact and getting frustrated. He very quickly went from that and a lot bashing from fans to possibly our best attacker atm.

We have been hearing that for 3 years now,

Fair enough. If you had said that originally I would probaly have agreed. Nani did lose his way (in a lot of games) and I did think he was sadly going to be shown the door last summer. I thought it was more his atitude than his drop in form. I am always pleased when our players improve and show better consistancy. Sometimes Nani has the unfortunate standard of Ronaldo to live up to on here and in the UK media.

As this thread is about Anderson there are some similarities in form and atitude but I can't see Anderson ever being as creative as Nani. With our often reported weakness in midfield Anderson should be very worried about remaining at this club next season unless we see a huge improvement.

Just want to see him back on the pitch for us. At the start of the season i thought this is his make or break season for us. Inuries have stopped him playing a role but when he gets back in the squad he got to do the job.

Depends really. Our problem wasn't really creating chances, it was controlling the game. Villa bosses us completely. One thing Anderson is, is a physical beast. He totally nullified essien last season at the bridgen. I doubt he would have made a big impact on this game but if he can fulfill potential, he will.definitely improve us a lot in games like this.

I disagree. Probably the most impressive thing about Anderson the central midfielder, since his debut season at United, has been his ability to compete with and at times nullify the opposition's midfield stars. In his first season he did a good job on Fabregas who barely got a kick, and Anderson set up a goal by beating Fabregas to a header. And also against Liverpool a similar story with Gerrard. However, keeping midfield starts occupied so they dont hurt us in the final third is not the same thing as controlling midfield, which as you say was our problem against Villa even though they had young inexperienced players in there.

I can count on one hand the amount of times Anderson's passing has meant we controlled the midfield. Right now he's nowhere near that kind of player. Right now, like Fletcher and Carrick, Anderson is the kind of central midfielder who you'd put next to your star midfielder who can control the match. And next to such a player he can offer good things and play well. But if we just put any 2 of those 3 together, it leaves a lot to be desired.

Again, it depends on how he develops. His best performance for us has been where he was playmaking (FA cup I think against Arsenal). His best performances against the bigger teams in the league have been Essien-like, physically monstrous, and full of endeavor and drive rather than controlling the game.

It would be hard to say which way he'll go, but either way if he fulfills his potential he will help us control games. A big reason why Chelsea win so many midfield battles is because their midfield is so physically strong. Essien is a huge factor in that.

Met him at the san carlo restaurant last week after the derby. He seemed to be alrite( with 2 very fine women aswell) Said hell be playing next week .

Anyone believing Anderson's career is going to the right direction is as much deluded as those who believe that Anderson is shite. We all know that he is not shit, on the other hand his constant running in midfield like a headless chicken is getting him nowhere. After so many years with United one is expected to be able to calm down, pass the ball to the right channels and score.

The club has spent millions in 3 midfielders (Anderson-Carrick-Hargreaves) and yet it still depend heavily on Scholes despite being 36 yrs old. I wont be surprised if SAF decides to bring in new talent to try to sort our weak CM and that would mean that heads will end up being chopped.

yup, heads will roll soon as we just cant afford to keep hoping that anderson will fulfill his potential.

tbh i have never understood the hype around him.

im not saying hes shit nor that hes good. i just don't know what to think about him and why some people love him and other seem to despise him.

feck feck fcuk bit was hilario though
It was clear to see what kind of stuff he brings to us in his first run of games in his first season. Wigan, Villa, Boro, Kiev, Arsenal, Blackburn.. he played a big part in all of those. You must have short memories if you don't remember those.

Chelsea's wingers come deep and make play in central areas a lot more than ours do. And they are good at keeping the ball. Malouda even does a good job as a central midfielder. We dont have the same adaptable, dynamic players to come and support our midfield in the buildup.

I mean we have Park, but he's nothing to compare with Malouda or Anelka.

I do think in the long term Anderson can be an Essien/Davids sort of player, but he's miles away at the moment and I'm not sure that either player would suit our team when Scholes is gone. Not in a midfiel 2 anyway. In a 3 either one would help a lot.

Good cameo today by Anderson. Beautiful pass for Hernandez.

Looked really lively and mobile, which is what we lack a lot of the time in the middle.

Glad he got some minutes, anyway.

I think he needs glasses. He seems to think players are much further away from him than they are.

At least I assume that's why he hits the ball like a rocket when players are yards away.

Just has to find his passing range and he'll be alright, id rather have a young player who can see the difficult passes than one who passes it back

Was it Anderson who fired into Rooney at the edge of the box, a lesser player would have had no chance but Rooneys first touch on that occasion was outstanding.

Hasnt made one of those passes today.

Good cameo. Kept it simple, didnt give the ball away when important.
Glad to see him back in action :)

Looked to me like he's lost a bit of weight since he was last in action for the first team, anyone reckon Fergie might have had a word and asked him to shed a few pounds?

His off the ball movement also looked better yesterday. He was always available whenever someone was in trouble and needed an outlet. Something that Scholes is brilliant at.

I think he's missing the idea of short build-up play. Take 3:55 for example. In recent times he'd have aimed for Giggs but at that time he just gave the simple option that continued us up the pitch without risking possession.

He often looks to pass it forwards, that's what I like about him.

that, and the fact that he takes the ball and brings it forward. Thats something none of our midfielders really do. Once he gets his fitness back (and i hope he finally does and becomes more agile) and his match sharpness, I still have confidence that he becomes a class player

A week in America (similar to Rooney) would be an idea to get his fitness and sharpness back.

If nothing else he's still rated as one of our best penalty takers.

Another player getting back into the groove is Rooney. “Playing is the name of the game for him now,” says the boss. “He was very rusty on Wednesday. But when he took his penalty kick, he came to life. He played really well in that last few minutes, I think he enjoyed it. He had the courage to take the penalty - I thought Ryan or Anderson should have taken it - but it was a fantastic penalty, and hopefully that is a step forward for him.”

That's got to count for something, right...

He does take a mean penalty, to be fair. Belting the ball hard and accurately is obviously something he does quite well.

It's when he's asked to take a bit of pace off so his team-mate can actually trap the ball that the problems arise.

Is Anderson overweight? Cos he sure as hell looks it. We've had the same problem with Arshavin. I'd have thought you'd be weighed once a week and if you were over the limit you'd get fined and told to lay off the pies.

I wouldnt be surprised if he is, at least on footballer terms. And he's been a bit chubby for quiet some time now.

for me, that is the main reason why he isnt able to perform at his best, causehe lacks fitness, is not agile, no stamina etc. Once he gets all that back, I am sure we will see a much better Anderson
