RAWK goes into Meltdown 2010/2011

What Rafa is good at:

Cup runs.
Being the underdog.
Tactics.
Defensive play/Avoiding defeat.
Public relations (at least with Liverpool).

What Rafa is bad at:

Man management.
Maintaining any advantage/superior position.
Going for the jugular/Creative, attacking play.

What Rafa is hit and miss at:

Transfer market (more miss than hit, but I'm in a charitable mood).

Add creating a siege mentality to that

ust like your lambasting of people for judging Rafa on his Inter performance, but confidently declare that judging Houllier on his Villa performance is totally acceptable.

If your stance is going to be that people are idiots for making a particular value judgement - probably best not to repeat exactly the same mistake yourself.

Yes i noticed this too. He seems to have been well briefed on the RAWK position:

Rafa is the only one responsible for anything good - CL win, 2nd in league, penicillin etc.

Hicks, Gillette, Houllier, Woy, Mourinho, Robbie Keane et al. are responsible for all the failings - CL group knockout, 7th place, UEFA knockout, Masch leaving, Inter struggling, BMI above 30, etc. etc.

You think Rafa was good at PR??

How can you forget Meeeeeeeester Ferguson?

I know this is massively hypothetical, but the meltdown the Caf would go into if Benitez' Inter beat United would be something else.

That said, it's never going to happen, simply because Benitez' job is hardly guaranteed.

Have you been on here when we've lost? The meltdown the Caf goes into when we lose any game is ridiculous. Benitez or not we'd meltdown equally.

Aye. You'll experience it someday Alastair, hopefully not too soon though (i.e. Monday)

The Bayern away game was statistically the worst meltdown: Most users ever online was 5,755, 30th March 2010 at 16:52.

I read a match day thread for the first time yesterday, I think. Someone described Carrick's poor pass as "season defining", which I thought was a tad excessive. So you're probably right, the Benitez factor would just add to it.

I vaguely recall photoshopping insulting comments onto pictures of Rafael (or possibly Fabio. The feck do you tell unless they're numbered?) during that game...

I fcukin knew it, it's DJSidney masquerading as a Gooner.

Al-right mate?

I'd totally forgotten about Sydney and his claim of having "been to Istanbul", which turned out to be "visiting his mum in Turkey".

Still have his passport "picture" somewhere, let's see...

Oh, and of course who can forget his visit to Dubai during the DIC saga?

(no, I don't ever throw anything out!)

what a fecking nutter!

On a serious note though I find it odd him using a pic of a bulgarian passport considering the business with Shields in 05.

Or was this all before then?

Bluemoon is even worse than RAWK.

Well, there is quite a big difference, but ultimately the results aren't good enough which is something they have in common.

Maybe your club has stopped over achieving and is now getting the results the shower of shit players* and club deserve. I actually give credit to roy as his team don't look as bad as rafas even without mascherano.

Wait for it.... YANKS OUT!:lol:

* the exception being Torres, Reina and an on the ropes Gerrard.

Poor Roy was left a lot of very mediocre players by El Tubby.

Even Torres looked poor today.

You think Rafa was good at PR??

Yeah, he was good with Liverpool fans. As someone else rightly added, he could create a siege mentality, knew all the right buttons to press (singing YAWN, calling Sir Alex "Meester Fergushon", etc. If he could've gotten away with it in the media, I'm sure he would've called him "Bacon Fasche" or something equally ridiculous).

Skrtel, Lucas, Ngog, Konchesky and Kyrgiakos are really poor players and don't belong at a club that has top four ambitions.

-Lucas is a decent player, I think the past 12 months he's actually been pretty good.

-Ngog is simply Macheda...but has had more opportunities, and has shown a bit more than him atm.

Looking at the MOTD highlights, what was Jovanovic doing for the third goal? Carroll gets it and he's right next to him, but instead of going to him he starts to wander upfield.

Decent player maybe, he can keep a ball moving, has a good technique etc. There's tons of midfielders like that around. Not good enough for a team like Liverpool who have aspirations of winning things.

Ngog is woeful.

Konchesky has now cost us 3 goals in as many games. Skrtel and Soto have been leaning towards decent for most of the season though Skrtel had his poorest game since Boro away yesterday. I've done enough talking about N'Gog and Lucas but when it comes to the crunch they could be decent back up for a top 4 team, the problem is we're relying on them and for the most part they've been two of our more consistent performers this year. Says it all.

Hodgson: Liverpool''s performance was "not good enough for a team which has top half ambitions"

He's a fecking goat I'm telling you.
