drop a nuclear bomb on the City and start again
guffaw guffaw.
hiccup.

I'm not keen either but presumably the idea would be as a short term boost to the team until the summer. Anything more and it's just as stupid as getting Rafa back.
Notable individuals to have backed Dalglish to take over at Liverpool include legendary former Manchester United and Northern Ireland goalkeeper Harry Gregg,[36] and former Liverpool defender Dominic Matteo.
The season is already a write off for my mind. What can we aim for? Europa League? Wouldn't be too bothered if we missed out this year as it can just be a pain when you're trying to rebuild.
If the owners have got any sense they'll try and get a couple of the talented youngsters being watched by half of Europe on board before biding their time and getting a young talented manager for the long term, not just some old scrote like MON. Just don't give Woy any say in the players brought in until they find his replacement.

especially one of those ones that implodes inwards and sucks in all the germs

It can be the basis of a new fallout game.
Fallout: Vermin City.
I doubt they'd get a first pick halfway through the season. King Kenny would get them playing with a bit of pride and hold the fort until the Messiah comes in summer (Deschamps the fav).If they are going to replace Woy then they'll have to get in someone good, and that will mean giving him money to build his own team. Better to do that now than writing off another half season (if they believe Woy is a busted flush, that is).
Like who? From the bit I've seen of him and the fact he's said he wants to move someone like Santon would be a perfect fit for you, presuming he'd sign, that is.
I've had a fair few discussions with my Liverpool supporting friend about what on earth is wrong with the club and how they could fix it. We came to the conclusion that although Hodgeson seemed like the ideal man to stabilize the club, he's really not cut out to be a top level manager.
Negative football and poor efforts into the transfer market (Poulsen especially).
I suggested the whole sell Torres for £40m+ and rebuild your squad with that money but he argued and I agreed. If Liverpool lost Torres, their star player it would seriously diminish the ability of the club to attract the kind of player's they'd need to rebuild their side. As they have no Champions League status to help them attract the finest in Europe. They don't have the money to make up for their lack of success(unlike city) or CL status (Spurs). Therefore the only real reason for a player to join Liverpool at the moment is to play alongside the likes of Torres and Gerrard (Reina is class too but no player desperately wants to play alongside a world class keeper).
Realistically what they need to do is sell some of the dross and replace it with quality. Chelsea have proven that you can get away with a relatively small squad if your starting 11 is good enough. If they sold the mediocre players and invested abit of money as well, they could make so decent buy's and then bring through some youth to provide squad depth.
They also need a manager who knows how to play attacking and counter-attacking football.
Yep, the season is a write off but we still need shot of Hodgson sooner rather than later. If we do, we might a least have a puncher's chance of holding on to Torres and Reina. Lose them and the rebuilding job becomes a lot more prolonged and arduous.
These comments make me wonder how many people just throw random opinions that seem to look nice out there.
Gerrard has been our best player whenever he's been fit to play this season. Just about the only outfield player exempt from criticism this season based on performance.

just cannot let go of rafa can ya![]()
I thought Deschamps was approached this summer and said 'no ta'?

Exactly. Liverpool were great against 10 men that season, something which seemed to benefit them an extraordinary amount of times.
11 vs. 11 they were getting beat by the likes of Middlesborough and suffering embarrassing draws to relegation fodder.
And then in 09/10, they were regularly getting embarrassed by everyone. Roy's continued that trend.
What a load of bollocks as per usual. & to think I'm being accused of being selective.
What about the 5-1 thrashing of Newcastle at St James Park. Or our 1-0 victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the league. Followed up by a 2-0 win at Anfield later on in the season. How about our 2-1 win against your lads, despite us giving you a 1-0 lead at Anfield.
We finished on 86 points that season because we had a very good side. Players like Reina, Hypia, Agger, Carragher, Gerrard, Alonso, Arbeloa, Torres, Mascherano, Kuyt, Aurelio. All of them played at the top of their game for most of that season. Then throw in the excellent form of Benayoun & Reira, along with some very good performances from Babel & Insua.
You're the same guy who tries to pass off our 2005 CL win as a fluke. Yet you somehow fail to grasp the fact that we came very close to doing it again 2 years later.
Benitez was sacked because he failed to build on the 2009 season. I don't have a problem with that, because that's the price you pay when you're managing a club like Liverpool. You & a few others on here can try & hide behind your opinions that everything that Rafa did was shit, & the good bits were down to luck. But it's laughable to suggest that our players looking more like zombies from a 'Night of the living dead' movie is down to a guy who left the club nearly 6 months ago - Our previous manager left behind a top 7 side. Nothing more, nothing less. The fact that Roy Hodgson looks & performs like a school janitor that's been asked to teach quantum physics is not really Rafa's fault is it ?
It seems what NESV are doing are worse now.
Essentially leaking it to the press that they will sack Hodgson but they won't yet because they can't find a suitable replacement.
A dead-man manager? When does that ever happen? Usually you just sack the bloke and put in caretaker.
This must be even more unhealthy method of handling the situation.
I hope they bring Rafa back that would be hilarious

What part of Redman saying he doesn't have a problem with Benitez being sacked did you fail to understand, Red?
In your haste to engage in petty spats with oppo fans on this board, you often miss the point.
Happy New Year.

I feel so happy for Roy Hodgson. This should ease the pressure off him for awhile... Liverpool fans need to understand that it didn't matter who took over the reins, because whoever got the job needs time to regenerate and lift the team from top to bottom.
You fecking patronising (and clueless) cnut.
Sorry - I took the bait...
