Manchester United defender Rafael Da Silva has today (Monday) been charged by The FA with Improper Conduct.

The charge relates to the player’s conduct towards match official Mike Dean following his dismissal in Manchester United’s fixture at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 16 January.

The player has until 6pm on 18 January to respond to the charge.

What a bunch of wankers. it's a passionate game and the lad was hard done by, even the opposition manager admits that. It's a fecking joke that Rafael will get punished AGAIN for a second time because of a mistake by a guy who will not get punished. :wenger:

Once again, United get all the breaks. I wonder who we bribed for this one?

Typical retarded sons of bitches at the FA. But it shouldn't be more than a fine as Babel (who questioned the integrity of Howard Webb) has only been fined £10,000

It shouldn't, be it will be.

The FA love to make an example of United players.

See Rio missed drug test compared to Christian Negouai missed drug test.

Wasn't there something with Rio last year too, something with an elbow? About a week after someone else had got off with something similar?

How he dare he be mad for five seconds about being wrongly sent off by a clownish Referee.

Yeah Rio got a 3 game ban throwing an elbow at the Hull player (4 due our 'frivilous appeal') but I don't think another player was punished for a very similar incident. Can't recall who it was though.

Should United not appeal the yellow card, that led to the red? I think we may have grounds, and you can appeal yellow cards can't you?

This is typical FA for you, I'm going to have to look at the incident again to see what he says to the ref, certainly the last thing he says towards the Dean is "why?" What else? Nothing any other player hasn't said I guess when questioning something so contentious.

So let's see. Player posts a picture of a ref wearing opposition colors, he gets a slap-on-the-wrist fine and the team isn't punished at all. Player says "feck off" twice to a ref in the process of getting sent off, 3-game suspension.

feck off, FA...

(The one thing I can say about the Babel thing is that suspending him wouldn't really have hurt Liverpool that much because Babel is such a uselessly shit footballer.)

It's foolish only because of the possible consequences, such as an extended ban. I just don't see how passion can be controlled when players are so pumped up.

It has to be at some point otherwise it can easily be used as an excuse to do all sorts of things.Like he "passionately" punched his opponent in the face.
I went OTT I know but I think you know what I mean.
You can complain to the ref, show your discontent at his decision, you can show all sorts of passion but it doesn't have to be like Rafael did (or for instance like Drogba and Ballack did against that noggie ref in the CL)

The folly of youth. Easy to forget he's only a kid.

I don't think it's necessarily a youth thing Pogue.Players of all age do it.They should know better

So what's the punishment for improper conduct anyway?

Anyone remember what happened in the aftermath of that Arsenal-Chelsea game when they all had a mass tantrum?

Or what about Mascherano when he acted the cock after getting sent off against us? Was his ban extended?

Dean was an idiot, but Rafael was wrong to react like he did.

Of course, but he's just been hard done by, saying "feck off" isn't exactly shocking... this on the other hand

Football is full of emotions and getting a harsh red has caused tonnes and tonnes of bad reactions from players of all ages, saying "feck off" is pretty composed imo.

It was Gerrard, wasn't it? He had a stretch last year when he got in the ref's face yelled, gave him the v sign and blatantly elbowing another player. Nothing happened...

Anyone else notice how several papers said that Fergie was "at it again" over the red card despite his saying he wouldn't say anything about it? I guess they've got nothing better to do than lie.

Any video kicking around? I saw the incident but I was too busy screaming - feck off, what for, why - at the ref to notice what Rafael did.

I can't read lips 100%, but it was something along the lines of, "that was a fecking joke" or "are you that fecking blind?" or "you are a fecking asshole" or "you're a fecking dumb shit".

In all fairness. He shouldn't have said whatever it was that was said. Having said that, he is young and this is his first offense so the FA will let him off with a slap on the wrist. Even Harry admitted it was a bad call.

He was pretty much saying the same thing.

yup...

"feck off, what for? what for? Didn't touch him...."

That's it, around 5-6 seconds of 'ranting' after being sent off harshly in an intense match situation.

How dare he?

Oh and if this is how the FA are going to be...Wayne Rooney better learn to bite his tongue, he'll get charged every time he plays.

Was the referee booked for simulation?

And  at Winterburn pussing out.

The FA is a complete joke. Rafael was screaming at an official who was clearly wrong...better punish him for pointing out Dean's incompetence.
