Manchester United v Manchester City

We want to win, not to do everything to be unbeaten. At home.

Show me when was the last time we wanted to draw more than win. Give me better example than Arsenal in May 2009 as we needed only one point then and it was our last home game.

---------------VDS------------

Rafael---Smalling---Vidic---Evra

--------------Carrick-----------

--------Fletcher---Anderson----

Nani------------------------Park

--------------Rooney------------

Is what i think the team will be although i'd prefer we went 4-4-2 with Berbatov inplace of Fletcher

I'd prefer this

Where did I say we "wanted" a draw? I just said we'll be more concerned with not losing.

Hernandez and a few of our other lads have opted not to join their national sides this week and stay in Manchester.

I forget who else. Nani I think is one too.

Any link for this?
Awesome news if true.

i think it will be 451 with Rooney on left. I wouldnt mind 451 with Nani and Park wide but then might have to go for Rooney as not too keen on Berba up front alone.

A wild card selection 451 with Hernandez up top alone, i think could work well but know that wont happen

I hope we can at least stay unbeaten at home this season. It is ultimately going to come down to our home record as to whether we win the title. I don't need to tell one that our away record is just dismal and there are some tough away games coming up with trips to Anfield, Emirates and the Bridge.

how many $hitty players are traveling for international duty?

Derby clash
Ferguson is not happy that he will now lose a great percentage of his squad to international duty.
However, at least he has Dimitar Berbatov, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Edwin van der Sar, Park Ji-sung and Patrice Evra around to form a team for next week's Old Traffordderby.

"It is a terrific game to recover from," he said. "It is a massive game for us and something to look forward to.

"Unfortunately, we have internationals in midweek. To my mind that is crazy but we have to get on with it.

"We have plenty of players who are not involved in international games and they will all play next week."

My early prediction for line up based on this is

VDS
Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra
Carrick, Scholes
Nani, Park Giggs
Berbatov

Bench: Lindengaard, Rooney, Evans, O'Shea, Anderson, Fletcher, Chicha.

I am going to be in New York on the weekend so have had to give my ST to a mate.

Does anyone know what bars in NYC will be showing the game?

Cheers!

I watched the Champions League final last year in a bar in New York but I can't remember which one it was. The name did sound familiar, but it wasn't Nevada Smiths or any of the bars on the following site:

Soccer Bars in NYC - Where to Watch the games

This site should have all the answers though...

No mention of Hernandez and Nani being rested like some said on the other page. Bugger!

Pretty sure this one will be decided by goals. If we can get one or two more than them it should be enough to take all three points.

Growing some balls, is he now?

"I don't care if United fans boo me!"

Carlos Tevez is unconcerned by the prospect of being jeered when he returns to Old Trafford in the Manchester Derby.

Once a favourite at Manchester United, he is now an inspirational figure in manager Roberto Mancini's ambitious side.

A first-half hat-trick against West Brom on Saturday took his tally for the season to 20 goals.

It sets the Argentina striker up nicely for the derby, especially as the gap between the two sides is down to five points with the leaders losing to Wolves.

He told ZOO magazine he was not worried about getting plenty of stick at the ground he used to grace.

He said: "I don't care about people booing me at Old Trafford. It doesn't worry me and I'm not worried about going there.

"The booing happened a lot last year, but I understand. As a supporter, you defend your club and I am on the opposing team now.

"Manchester United fans can never say I didn't give my all during the time I was there. Maybe many supporters still don't understand the reason I left.

"I am a professional footballer and being booed when I am on the field is a price I have to pay sometimes. But it won't affect me at all.

"Derby games are always beautiful. I enjoyed them in Argentina and Brazil but, in England, they are extra-special.

"Playing against Manchester United is a big incentive but it's not just because of personal issues for me. It's about the importance of three points. We want to go to Old Trafford and win."

Even though Tevez would be thrilled with a victory, he wants City to overcome the league's lesser lights as well in their pursuit of a Champions League place.

He said: "We already have our best side in many years. But it's not just about playing United and winning. It's important to win our games at home.

"We cannot afford to lose games in which, theoretically, we are the favourites. Those are the matches when a title gets lost, not in the one-off big games against our rivals."

Tevez added: "The players are giving everything for each other. That unity is the key to success on the field.

"This is not a team based around individuals - this is a team that works together."

Man City have a lot less players being "rested."

They have a fresh Patrick Vieira but who else?

Even without the internationals, the side avaliable is passable

Van der Sar
Fabio
Smalling
Brown
Evra
Park
Scholes
Giggs (c)
Obertan
Owen
Berbatov

Not a chance we'd win the game with that team, mind you we will probably put our best side on the pitch anyway.

It's a football game, so saying not a chance is a bit much. Not to mention that team there is quite good when you consider the teams that Shitty have lost to this season and the team Berlin put up is probably on paper no worse than any of them.

On another note - did find a list of the Mexican players called up and it was all players from Mexican league. So Chicha should be available. Now if only the Nani not playing against Argentina is true - then that will be a great bonus.

Read somewhere that Tevez won't be playing for Argentina.

Expect him to put in a transfer request in the morning, only to withdraw it hours later when he realises you can't get a transfer from an International team.
