Marseille Vs Manchester United

It didn't mean I predict us to bottle it again, easy man.

Deep.

Fair enough.

We have a much stronger squad than back then and much more know how. We were also crippled by injuries from what I remember.

The game was dull but I don't think we were awful, just dull. It's not like it's new to us in the last two/three years and nowts gonna change at least for this season.

I get why people aren't happy with how we've played but there's no perspective in some of the comments - I think that's what pisses me and some others off, we've been spoilt rotten for years now and yet any game that doesn't go our way, or where we don't play well, leads to snipy comments and moaning. You just have to look at Scholesy and his 'I want us to play like barcelona' comments to see what I mean. I'm sure 99% of fans would like to have the success we've had and the moments we've experienced but all people on here can do is moan.

There seems very little 'support' on here at the moment. For example, Gibson, I thought, looked horribly low on confidence tonight and at times just looked like he was practising flying (lots of arm flapping) as he chased the ball here, there & everywhere. He probs won't make it at United but he's giving it his all and he just gets slated. He's not even THAT bad.

Anyway, going on a bit now, sorry!

We should have brought Chicharito on too.

Yep. I've got the uncomfortable feeling that SAF is going to field a (more or less) second-string team against Wigan...which means we may well lose.

Even if we had won 100-0, Fergie was late with substitutions.

I'd have changed it earlier as well but we've a lot of games coming up and, considering his success & the fact SAF is always cautious with subs, it's not that much of an issue.

If we go out then it will be because of our performance at OT, not tonight. Simple as that.

I hear what you're saying, but he simply can't. 4-4-2 and hopefully pick up the 3 points. Rooney & Berba up front, Giggs and Nani on the wings. Scholes and Carrick in midfield. Defence has been better.

Moan Moan Moan!...If only we had the Midfield Quartet of Giggs Keane Scholes and Beckham like the last time we played in Marseille!!!

(Oh Shit we lost that one 1 0 !)

You don't get the point and have no clue. right?
No! Perhaps I don't! Please explain to Sir Alex and I your wonderful new blueprint to improve on being:
Top of the League
Still in the FA Cup
One foot in the Champions League Quarter Finals!!

I hope you're right. I'm usually wrong, so there's a fair chance you are right. :D

I would have said that had we gotten an away goal, and sneaked a win tonight. I wouldn't say one foot, I'd say more like one toe.

It was just a little bit changed Scholesy's post after one of the games.

But yes, we should have brought Scholes earlier, I think for Carrick, not Gibson. And of course I think we needed Hernandez.

We have to be confident at Old Trafford, especially based on that as we shut them out at home. Only issue from the flip side of the coin is that they don't need a win to go through where as we do really, as long as everyone concentrates and we don't get a silly ref like Bayern last season then we should be alright IMO.

Deschamps will probably go more attacking for next game, although he doesn't really have to as such.

I'd expect Hernandez to start against Wigan, maybe with Berbatov and then roo on his own against Chelsea.

I agree with taking off carrick not Gibson, although Gibson hadn't exactly offered much. Carrick has completely stopped doing what made him so effective a few years ago - it's not enough for him to just intercept the ball, he used to make really good forward passes but he just doesn't do that anymore. If it wasn't for Hargreaves being dead, Gibson struggling to make the grade and Scholes being on the verge of retirement either this year or next, I think he'd be sold. As it is, he'll probably stay but, sadly, it's increasingly by default.

Gal! You surprise me. I always had you down as a 'glass half full' sort of Fan...have you not seen just how good we've been at home this year???

I am a 'half full' person most of the time. Thank god our home form is so good, we really should do the business there but we'll need more than one goal IMO. One nil and I'll be shitting myself for 90 mins, all it would take for them is just one goal. Remember last season against Bayern? That cnut Robben getting the goal, and putting them through even though we won on the night.

Hopefully we'll go right at them, and maybe with Park, Anderson and Valencia available, fingers crossed.

Early goal and we'll do 'em 3 0 I reckon...lets face it if we can't beat this lot at home we don't deserve to be in the next round!

Any chance UEFA will look at the Brandao elbow or the Diawarra kick at Nani in the last minute? Should have both been red cards and the army of refs around the pitch didn't see anything.

Brandao deserved red for that snidey elbow...surely UEFA have to look at it again considering there was no yellow card. Missed the kick on Nani though.

It was in the last minute, around 90:35 if I remember correctly. Strange that nobody seems to have seen it. I don't see it mentioned anywhere even though it was a clear kick in my opinion. Might have to watch it again.
