Chelsea vs. Manchester United

I'm glad Luiz isn't elligible for this game.

Any squad news floating about?

Trying to be as objective / realistic as possible - I won't be surprised if we lose at the Bridge

Rooney missed training this morning.Guess SAF is protecting him from the media frenzy

I don't think he's an exceptionally good defender but he looks a really good footballer.

He adds a change of pace to their team. That and the fact that he gets the crowd up for it. It's definitely good that he's out. It weakens their team twofold because Ivanovic isn't as good at centre half as he is at right full back and Bosingwa is definitely attackable.

Do you expect United to progress?

On balance, all things considered - it's very possible that they will beat us over two legs. Our record against them over the last few years, our patched up defence and our record in big games generally more recently are behind this line of thinking - not that I don't think it will be a close tie. We may well win at OT and it comes down to aggregate scores.

Very much hope I'm wrong though

All things considered, a 2-1 loss would be a reasonably good result for us tomorrow night. A draw would be fantastic! Especially considering our great home record against Chelsea and our superb home record in Europe.

I'd be surprised if Rio starts tomorrow. I suspect that although he's in training he might leave him a few days until he plays him.

I felt more apprehension going into the league game. The CL is a nice distraction - I am more concerned with the league so I am feeling less pressure and looking forward to the game no matter how it goes.

What great home record against Chelsea?

Rafael and Rio seemingly being fit makes this a strange one to select.

Van Der Sar
Fabio-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra
Carrick-Scoles
Valencia-Park-Nani
Rooney

With Rafael coming on when Fabio inevitably gets injured, Park to stick to Lanpard like glue.

I think that line-up could be spot on, hope so anyway.

Hernadez

Berbatov on for Hernadez and Park/Giggs to change midfield in the second half.

I'd like to see Brown instead of Rafael (if he's available).

I'd also like to see a 5-man midfield with Rooney upfront on his lonesome.

I wouldn't risk Rafael because of that hamstring injury, they are dangerous. Fabio did a perfect job on saturday so he should play. Don't risk Rafael's season.
