Schalke vs Manchester United

whats wrong with Berba continued omission, its geting disturbing.

Inter got raped by Bale twice, they were missing their first choice CBs against Schalke and Leonardo has failed in the big matches, both with Milan and Inter

We're better than that, we're better than Schalke

and Berba is injured, no need to risk him in this game

van der Sar

Rafael
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Scholes
Park
Giggs

Rooney

SUBS: Kuszczak, O'Shea, Smalling, Anderson, Nani, Hernandez, Owen.

No messing. Don't think Hernandez will start though, I think that was perhaps something more reserved for Chelsea and testing out their ageing centre backs with some pace. Plus Chicha really needs a rest at this stage, I feel.

Starting XI: ------------ Van Der Sar ---------------------
Rafael ------ Ferdinand ----------------- Vidic -------- Evra
Valencia ----- Carrick ------------------ Giggs -------- Park
------------- Rooney ----------------- Hernandez ---------

Bench: Kuszczak, O´Shea, Smalling, Anderson, Scholes, Nani, Owen

Third time doing this, but I'm almost sure this team will start now:

van der Sar
Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Carrick Scholes
Nani Park Giggs
Rooney
--
Kuszczak; O'Shea, Smalling; Anderson, Valencia; Gibson/Owen, Hernandez

We'll put in a rate good shift and win 0-2.

Lads i know its a bit of a cliche but there really is no poor teams in the CL semis. We should win, but dont count your chickens before they hatch.

The key to beating this team is getting in jurado's face, He is their playmaker. We stop him and they will falter. Fletcher would have been perfect for this role.

Also, I hope they play raul as the lone striker. he is much less effective when stuck upfront. He practically destroyed Inter by dropping into the space between midfield and attack whilst playing alongside edu.

For the record my team is.

VDS, Rafa, Rio, Vida, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Giggs, Park, Rooney, Chicarito

The last few times we got to CL semis i booked the final day and the day after of work just in case we get through and someone else books it of.

Any of our players in risk of missing the second leg?

However, John O'Shea took his place on the plane despite leaving the field with an injury against the Toffees and a third goalkeeper has still to be confirmed.

Erm isn't it him?

Any of our players in risk of missing the second leg?

No. We've only had 6 bookings throughout the tournament, all to different players.

Which stands in sharp contrast to Schalke who have received 26 (!) yellow cards in the group and knockout stages and one straight red. If I'm counting right, (and I might not be. Schalke have had a lot of bloody bookings!) if any of the following players are booked in the first leg, they'll be ineligible for the 2nd leg:

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
Jurado
Raúl
Kyriakos Papadopoulos

PIG
Brown Evans Smalling Anderson
Obertan Gibson Oshea Bebe
Park
Giggs

Got this in the bag lads, can afford to rest a few players for the league.

I'm sure I read that there's new rules that yellow cards are removed after the quarterfinals, but after reading here, it seem not to be the case.

Who is and is not on yellow cards?

Rooney hasn't been booked in Europe all season, has he?

If SAF has forgiven him, who the feck am I to hold a grudge
Or it could be Fergie trying to get a sleeper hold on him

I'd seriously like to see Owen start tomorrow

should be enough

VDS, Vidic, Hernandez, Giggs, Nani and Anderson all have one yellow card apiece.

Aren't the rules now that it has to be three yellow cards rather than two from the group stage onwards?

22.02 In case of repeated cautions:
a) before the group stage, a player is suspended for the next competition
match after two cautions in two different matches, as well as after the
fourth and sixth caution;
b) from the first match in the group stage, a player is suspended for the next
competition match after three cautions in three different matches, as well
as following any subsequent odd-numbered caution (fifth, seventh, ninth,
etc.).

Yes, hence my comment "No. We've only had 6 bookings throughout the tournament, all to different players" 40 minutes ago in response to someone asking if any of our players are in danger of missing the 2nd leg.

 Are you being serious? This is a Champions League semi final! The competition Fergie wants to win more than any other. There is 0 chance that we're not putting out our best team tomorrow...none at all.
