On the lasting 90 minutes - I know that's his style of game but, I'd be curious how many players that can play the way he does and consistently last night minutes - players that carry the ball from CM and drive at defender and still cover defensively as well. Obviously he needs to build up to being able to play to that level consistently but, it's not like when he tires out after 60-70 minutes, he's just being playing at a steady pace.
It's a bit of a choice I think in the end, curb some of his play by getting him to take the pass instead of carrying the ball forward or even perhaps not be energetic closing down, fighting players off while maintaining possession or let him play like he does and then keep in mind may need to replace him around 70 -80 minutes.
Hopefully what happens is he'll have a bit of rest this summer, work on his fitness more, perhaps learn on the field when to conserve energy some and then complete more and more games at the level the same high level as today.
Anderson is fecking ace. That is all.
Out of interest looked at the Ratings in todays papers:-
News Of The World: Anderson 7
The People: Anderson 6
The Observer: Anderson 6
Yet Sky and most here have him as MOM!!!
Did I miss something?
...And people say he can't pass.
consistantly......and they'd be right....still has an awful lot to prove imo...
The home/away thing is weird.
I struggle to think of a poor home performance from him all season. He's been somewhere between good and outstanding every time he runs out at Old Trafford.
Away from home, he's been consistently somewhere between poor and garbage.
Why?
Anderson's had enough false dawns for us to treat his performance against Everton with caution. He didn't produce anything beyond what he is capable of on Saturday. That performance stood out though because he has produced mediocre performances far too often. Unfortunately, whenever he's come into a decent vein of form, he's tended to pick up an injury - he really needs to get an injury free run together before we see his best. I still think he's in poor shape, though that is possibly linked to his injury proneness...

I am not a fan of his but I must say that first half performance was very good. All credit for that. It's what he does now that's important. Can he build on it ?
For me he has a lot to prove and unlike many of his admirers who still wait for him to prove them right, I think he's very limited in what he does - overall. He can tackle and his passing can be good and penetrative at times but none of it is consistent. He's too reliant on his left and he can't shoot straight nor win the ball in the air. There's no doubt he's injury prone which isn't his fault but that's no good to United if it persists. His potential as a midfield goalscorer is virtually non existent. Cue a goal soon !

Why?
Two reasons.
One is the fact that the team itself has been consistently somewhere between poor and garbage away from home (by it's own standards).
Second is that he does need to work on his game when there is a lack of time and space. When teams come to OT and sit back his positioning to get the ball in partocular is not so much an issue because there is ample of open space around the centre circle. He just gets the ball and drives forward. In away games he has to be that much more clever off the ball and ensure he takes up enough good positions to get the ball and then be quick enough in thought to do something useful with it.
That's a very good observation. He is quite lazy off the ball. He needs to work harder to find space and make suitable angles to receive the ball.
Anderson had a great first half the other day.
I hope him and Hernandez get more playing time together this season. Anderson loves to get his head up and try to play runners in early. Hernandez is a perfect outlet, really.
If they can develop a proper understanding of each other's play I can see plenty more goals heading Hernandez's way.

I don't think that can an be used as as an excuse myself. Rooney, Valencia, Rio have all dealt with big injuries of late and come back in great shape and able to play on a very consistent basis for 90 minutes (well Rio slightly less so).
He needs to work on his fitness and he has had to for some time.
I've been reading some odd things about Anderson from rival fans on on general football forums. The general opinion is that he is slow, can't pass, can't shoot and is generally shite (bar 1 good game against Fabregas).
In my view he has all the tools needed to become excellent.
He has great vision, great acceleration, is strong and is a good tackler. Yes he can't shoot for beans but I would suggest that is more to do with snatching at chances he gets due to nerves or over-excitedness.
He's only 23 and I certainly have seen enough from him to suggest that there is more to come.
Aye, Hernandez's presence does wonders for the team. I think the last time we looked so well-balanced was when we had Saha up front.Having Hernandez making runs in behind makes it much easier for Anderson to slot the ball into Rooney in the hole as well, as he did several times yesterday to great effect.
Hernandez basically makes things much easier for our midfielders, at least when we get a bit of space and possession in midfield. Valencia sort of helps as well by sticking to the touchline and always providing an option.
So many different ways to look at it. He's bloody quick, can get stuck in, almost impossible to beat in terms of upper body strength, good vision and at his best a brilliant passer. It's simple about all of it coming together and clicking. It's starting to do so in home games where he's been very good this season. Now he needs to keep up the good work at home and also raise himself for the away games (as does the team).
I would suggest that it would have clicked for him already if he hadn't kept getting injured at crucial points.
I do love watching him play, I like that every now and again he will burn past players as if they weren't there. I like that he can smash a ball 50 yards to a waiting Hernandez.
There's been times when I've seen him play and thought "feck, this boy is good" and there have been times where I've had my head in my hands.
I have faith.
But he may naturally been prone to putting weight on - slower metabolism than the aforementioned players...? That's not ideal when you're sat on the sidelines for months at a time.
Either that, or he may just not be very professional.
Whatever, he really should get in better shape - it would improve his performance levels no end.
