Barcelona - a lot of moaning about them and some praise

However bad Barcelona are now, nobody in the current squad has anything on Marquez when he was there.

A long time ago there was a thread of people berating Barca, I asked why all the hate, a few years later I now see why!
A detestable bunch even if they do play quality football

They've been terrible before... Honestly, last night was too much for me, it wasn't one incident, it was multiple...

I've backed Busquets before... But tonight I was totally astonished by his attitude, he dived around 4 times... It was too freakin' much !

Alves too, Pedro was WTF ?

Di Maria was always a cnut which I was well aware...

Refs should card all players if they are not the captain of the team if they come running at him... Its a fecking rule and I totally don't understand how Barca get away with it EVERY Freakin Time !

Almost had 3 fights in a game which was caused from diving... Football at its worst.

They've had some pretty nasty players in the past alright; Salinas in the 1991 final was visibly kicking Pallister's shins all game, Nadal was a right cnut and then you had nasty little turds like Romario and Stoichkov as well.

Messi has had his share of nutty moments too, apparently gave someone an elbow shortly before the red card. Fits right in with the greats.

And the handball goal of course. When was that?

Keep it on the low Marcello. Messi's truly great moments still surpass all those minor shenanigans in my book.

when messi was down, he elbowed ramos shins, because ramos was close to him trying to push him

of course, everyone that hates messi cried "rape"

as when he was down and touched the ball with his hand

everyone that hates him cried "cheater"

Messi is a saint compared to his team-mates. He gets fouled more than most players and just bounces up and gets on with it. Ramos deserved his yellow for making no effort to play the ball and ramming Messi.

right! people forget how many times messi gets fouled, but keeps running instead of falling, and put him in the same cheating/diving level of his team mates

True. I used to dislike him. He had a great excuse for diving and what not because he was young and getting fouled like crazy, much like Ronaldo. And that handball goal.

But this season and last season I've seen him dive less than Rooney. He really is very hard to dislike with his footballing abilities and seemingly no controversies.

BPITW indeed and I'm a more of a Ronaldo man myself.

You can say the same about Xavi. He get's kicked a lot. He sometimes goes down easy but that's ok in my book. As long as you don't add fake injuries to it, which he doesn't.

This was the worst El Classico I have seen. I mean even the 6-2 drubbing last season wasn't this bad.

Well, there is still hope for the likely Barca -Man United final to be a worthy showpiece. The high stakes of a CL semi-final and the historic bad blood just clouded the entire game. The 'let's surroud the ref whenever there is a foul" rubbish (which utterly ruined the game) will prob not surface at Wembly, simply because there is no bad blood between Man Utd and Barca; and Pep, unlike Mourinho, tries to play football whenever possible.

And also tells his players to dive whenever they can from the slightest of touches ?

Pft...

Complete and utter scum. I have never ever in my life seen a team go into a match so determined to cheat their way through it. Also to the wankers that go on about how Barca are the greatest team ever...no fecking chance. The greatest team ever wouldn't resort to cheating for 90 minutes to gain an advantage at every opportunity.

That match was disgusting to watch.

Pedro
Busquets
Alves

who am I forgetting....

Diving, feigning injury, and people complain that Rooney and United hound the referee...hahahah. Barca are filthy, dirty, cheating, conniving bastards. I just hope at Wembley, if they beat us(they will be rightly strong favourites) they do it without cheating.

The ONLY saving grace last night was....the team they screwed over was Madrid and that there can be no doubt Barca were the better team, even when the match was 11 vs 11. Mourinho likes playing mind games...well he got his arse handed to him in that department. Madrid were marginally better last night in the cheating department, but if they had possession, I get the feeling they would have done the same.

Di Maria
Ramos

to name a couple of players.

Busquets is the worst. He's about 6'3 and a very good footballer but he feels the need to dive to the ground and always tries to get other players into trouble. One of the game's biggest cnuts ATM.

Just got done watching the game. I tried to avoid the score line and what happened in the game best I could. I realized based in the United forum that Barca had the leg up in the game. Watched it at a friends place who hadn't seen the score yet either.

I am absolutely completely disgusted by the play acting by Barcelona. It's as if they had no faith in their ability as a football club to over come a defensive Madrid side and from the off were looking to get someone sent off.

Strangest part was when Pepe fouled Alves - we paused it right then cause our kids needed something. On the big screen was the Barca players paused all surrounding the referee and I hadn't even had a chance to see the replay yet and I was like ok he'll get a yellow for that but, my goodness look at how pathetic these Barca players are because they are looking to get him sent off. I was like no way he'll get sent off. I even took a picture on my phone of the moment to illustrate their desperation to play against 10 men.

When we resumed the recording and Pepe was sent off - I was dumbfounded. I realized then that Barca would go on to win the game, just wasn't sure by how much.

Respect? Platini talks about respect and what not but, when you've players at Barca conditioned to play act and to ask for a card on every foul - I can't imagine how respect ever comes into play.

If United do get to the final and we do play Barca, I sincerely hope that in the end whoever the referee is will be one that will not allow for the imaginary card waving and the play acting. If they are to win, they'll do it properly. They are too good a football club to continually resort to this behaviour. It really was a horrible match to watch.

Evidently they are not.

Look all this stuff that Barcelona are 'a proper' football club is such bull. Their players proved as much during the world cup and thier behaviour in high profile games this season has proven as much.

They are all fed a daily diet of superiority grandeur at their training ground and Im sure they practice their rolls and face clutching along with free kicks and defending from set pieces.

Its a complete sham. Bunch of absolute wankers who unfortunately also happen to be very very good at football.

It would be nice of the media to make a huge deal of this in England in hopes that Platini has to mention it. He manages to pipe up all the time about Rooney and other things.

I will be mortified if anything is made about Barca's play acting from either by Platini or Blabber. If anything I believe they'll call out Madrid and Jose and not say a bad word about Barca. Put in terms of money - Barca are the darling right now and outside of the antics can plays some of the best football on the planet - so no way UEFA or FIFA try to put any negative light on the club.

I do sincerely hope that leading up to the final there is at least a concerted effort either by United or even the English media to highlight the likes of that absolute cnut of a man Biscuits and the other cheats. They should obviously show how the Madrid players cheated - it only goes to highlight what a shit league it is where players are allowed to get away with that kind of acting to impose themselves on lesser sides.

God I am so pissed off after watching that match - I knew Barca had the advantage after catching some of the threads but, had sincerely hoped it was through some brilliant football.

There is no chance anything will be done...have the caf apologists already done the whole...

'diving, feigning injury isn't cheating...in Spain and other parts of the world, it is just a part of the game, not sure why he English get so upset by it"

People will look for moral equivalency, and that will be the end of the discussion.

I'm surprised you lot would have any sympathy for Pepe after the way he got Rooney sent off back in 2006.

I can totally understand why players go down at the slightest contact and I dont blame them.. Almost each and every player does that.

What I cannot stand is the feigning injuries to get a player sent off part.

What Barca did aplenty last night was trying to get players sent off which, considering their footballing ability, is quite disappointing to see.

Not a case for feeling for Pepe...I actually didn't think the red card was the worst call ever.

If the players hadn't tried to outdo each other in terms of cheating all match long, I don't think the red card would have gotten so much 'hate'.

His foot was high, he didn't get the ball, and he lunged at him, so he was in a bit of trouble. Ideally you'd think the ref would give him a yellow, and tell him, the next foul and you're off.

But we've seen those given as reds before, I'm more incensed by the antics of the players, the ref tried to keep his card in his pocket, ignored some of the dives, and provocations, so I don't think he went out of his way to help Barca win the match.

Fact of the matter is, Pepe should not have been sent off. This fact does not change just because he is someone who got a United player sent of 5 years ago..

Im used to it. I am over it, it happens. They do it more than most teams but all teams do it at times
doesn't mean we should condone it. When Nani does his antics we have been critical of him. I'm sure you would have been too.
They are a very good team. But that is something even their legends would be ashamed of.

The op is spot on and I've been saying it since forever,

but you have to wonder why Madrid isn't being mentioned.

They were trying to get Barca players sent off also at every attempt, roll after rolll after roll while playing God awful football at the same time.

Both teams started out with the same stragegy, but after 15 minutes, Barca took their cheating to a whole new level. Anyone trying to equate the two teams last night to try to be impartial is a joke.

Barca were without doubt the bigger cnuts, and by a country mile at that.

Every time Real got the ball they were trying to con the ref. Di Maria, Marcelo , even Pepe somebody who is a beast was seen giving 10,000 rolls when tackle.

The difference is that Barca were passing around them for the majority of the so Madrid couldn't even cheat as much as they liked.

To think Madrid with Jose Mourinho are any less 'disgusting' is madness.

Are you fecking blind? I mean dead set? All Barcelona players did was run into Madrid players and they went down like a whores draws.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree.

and Madrid?

every time they were fortunate to get possession at their own stadium they were trying it on.

Are Madrid less cheaters than Barca?

Of course not. That's madness.

Off topic, but Boss where is your wonderful thread?

Couldn't find it, has a mod deleted it or did you finally get back into your senses.

Mod probably deleted, but when people see some of the bizarre posts in here where lads are failing to mention Madrid as per usual as if they have some affiliation with them. (I can think of a reason why)

People would realise I was spot on.

Boss, if you would take off your Messi underpants (just wear a towel instead for the sake of decency please) for 2 minutes you would recognize what a complete and utter disgrace that club is from top to bottom.

You are one of their biggest apologists on here, and it is embarrassing.

You're in love, we bloody get it.

"Ohhhhh, Messi, he's a little genius, Son of God (spunk spunk spunk spunk) Mes Que Un Club, Space Aliens from the Heavens to Teach Us All Football (spunk spunk spunk spunk)".

For the record, I find Madrid loathsome before you play the same pathetic fanboy game you did in what - had it not been deleted to spare your blushes - was a shoe-in for one of the most embarrassing threads of the year.

And I like you and defend you when your name is brought up as a waste of space.
