just read about Berba wanting to stay. He does not say he wants to sign a new contract. He just wants to see out the 12 months. Thats not going to happen. If he wont sign, he will be sold.

Berba was more then likely offered a contract in feburary, he chose to negotiate a better deal. It's now worth asking if the deal has gone sour or if Berbs power in negotiations has dwindle given his post Jan form.Give him the contract already, having such attacking depth in the squad is essential, and it's rare to have such a good player happy to take such a position.

i think we are a month away from knowing whether berba is staying or he is leaving.
if he stays then he will sign a new contract when the training resumes, if he did not sign a new deal then he will be sold.
as simple as that.
Or he might just be Berba and see out his contract play me or not and take his big final pay day next summer as a free agent.

As if his manager would not twist armsIts his fecking job!
Bulgarian star Dimitar Berbatov Manchester United would not twist the hands of the club for a possible re-signing the contract. According to his agent Emil Danchev, it would put immense financial claims when negotiations begin.
Recently been reports that he wanted more than 120 thousand pounds a week, and this was the maximum amount that the Reds' offered.

Even goal.com site announced that negotiations for new contracts have fallen through the attacker. However, they actually have not even begun.
"The theme of money is not mentioned. Mitko himself would not put impossible demands, if he ever get the opportunity to finish his career at Old Trafford. That we have spoken to him two of us.
No negotiations on a new contract because his current expires in 2012 and has an option to renew for another. No need to talk about things in a time when Manchester United fighting for two awards, "said Danchev in front of Darik .
Managers' expectations are any negotiations to begin in coming months, but after the season. He denied Berbatov to have had an offer from another club, although more often his name is associated with interest from everywhere.
"Normally Mitko is tasty morsel for many clubs, although his 30 years and everything that is written about it. Such official talks was not, and he repeatedly has said he wants to finish his career at United "said Danchev.
Berbatov has come in for fierce criticism in England because of gaps in the match with Manchester City in the FA Cup. It was at that match and he got a groin injury for which he has missed the last few games of his team.
"Injury resolves, it two days resulted in normal training. By the end of the week will be completely rebuilt. Read and laugh at any fantasies that coaching has a groin injury and is seated on the bench for negotiations," said Danchev.
Bulgarian is a leader in the goalscorers in the Premiership with 21 goals account and the conquest of this prize will emf of the goals by the end of the season.
"He is waiting for the chance and will try to increase its assets by 21 goals this season. Mitko already accustomed to the comments of his address. He knows it will be in the spotlight because he is a foreigner.
After the match, with City and other flaws attackers did, but it's normal to be more spared because they were English internationals. But Mitko has calmed, "said his agent yet.
He is an upstanding guy then he won't force us into a corner because that would be Tevez-esque.

no way. berba will sign a new contract or will be gone
Yes, but he would be mad to go to PSG. If he goes he should be looking at Munich, Milan or Inter
Heard PSG are really serious about getting him, but figure is way less than our evaluation of him. Will 13M work for us?
yes i would take 13M for him
yes i would take 13M for him
If we do sign Young - who is perfectly capable of playing as the second striker in addition to his role on the flanks - I'd take 13M for Berbatov. We'd have enough options in the forward positions and with Welbeck back as well we'd have more options for a 4-3-3/4-5-1 which would make the team tactically more flexible.
Of course if we're fecking loaded and have the cash to buy two central midfielders while not selling Berbatov (assuming Fergie wants Young anyway which is nowhere near certain obviously) then I'm all for keeping him. But I'm afraid we cannot afford that.
I obviously have no idea about our transfer budget; it's all just speculation. Aren't we allowed to speculate on certain possible scenarios?
I don't think it's outlandish to suggest that our net spend won't be very high. I expect it to be around the 20m mark. I may be wrong of course.
Just wondered why you think we cannot afford to buy two central midfielders whilst not selling Berbatov.
Where are you getting a figure of £20m net spend from?
Just a guess. It was "only" about 30m the last time we spent big in one summer (2007) and we have a bigger squad this time.
We'll definitely buy a goalkeeper, probably De Gea for around 18m. If Fergie really wants Young and Varane, both strongly tipped to join us, that's another 20-25m right there. That's 40m and there's still the issue of central midfield.
If Fergie wants to buy a central midfielder, that's another 15-20m (I'm not entertaining thoughts of buying Modric or Sneijder) taking the spending to around 55-60m. There's no way we'll spend that much net, there will be departures and Berbatov is one of our most valuable assets that we could do without.
Of course it wouldn't be a big shock if we just signed De Gea and Young or Varane, sell Kuszczak and Brown and be done with it for the summer.
Of course we won't let him run out of a contract and leave on a free, why would we do that? We can easily get £10m+ for him this Summer from one of European top sides, and I think we'll do that. Let's be honest here for a moment, he has barely been used in the past four months and while his early form was top notch, Ferguson seems to have dropped the idea of pairing him with Rooney. It mirrors a situation with van Nistelrooy, he got dropped halfway through season, we did well without him, then he got sold a year before his contract would run down.
I'm not going to debate the net spend here though because I will probably get banned for my thoughts on this subject sooner or later.
Berba wants to stay...on condition he gets lots more playing time...is the issue.

Van Nistelrooy handed in two transfer requests(once before the FA Cup final) before getting sold. They're not comparable.
yes i would take 13M for him
