Ya he's much too fat
How does Anderson's future in a United shirt look then? He had a great first season but has been (in my opinion) not up to United's high standards in recent years.
He needs to lose weight if he does want to feature regulary, I know that much.
He's not overweight.
Also, this was his best season IMO. He was absolutely awful away from home but at home he's been consistantly very good.
Sounds like our clubs season in a nutshell not just Andersons.
Anderson and Carrick will be our first choice midfield duo come the start of the season and by the end of the season Anderson will have achieved near first name on the team sheet status while the likes of Modric and Sneijder are but faint memories of a summer past.
Add Charlie Adam to the list. That would be better number wise. :P
I genuinely hope not, not because i dont rate Anderson because i do but that would mean we hadn't signed any quality midfield player and would be going into the season with Anderson/Carrick/Fletcher/Giggs as our only 4 established midfield players.
That would be a concern surely?
I still have faith that he'll turn into a quality player but I wouldn't exactly want to rely on him to produce the goods next season, from a creative point of view. He's still too inconsistent away from home for us to even think about doing that. Ideally we'd sign a creative player which plays quite deep so they can slot in next to Anderson. Banega please.
If it then turns out Anderson cannot take the step up to the next level then we can look to bring in an expensive established name next summer. Paying the kind of sum required to bring in a Modric or Sneijder this summer while we (or at least I) still have the belief that Anderson can step up to that level seems premature to me.
I think next season in the one where he makes a name for himself. 2011/12 to Anderson will be what 2010/11 was to Nani.
This is probably the third year in a row somebody has predicted big things of Anderson. *** is he has barely progressed in 4 years at the club.

Yes, but those people weren't me.
I don't think stamina is his biggest issue. I think it's more about being smarter about how he uses his energy. To me when people say at the 60/70 min mark tire out, it's either because he's just come back and is playing his way back to match fitness or more so that in a lot of games he plays too much at full tilt for those first 60 odd minutes.
If he can pick and choose his moments to burst forward or even when he really needs to close down someone, he will last longer through game.
dunno if he will get any better, i think he'll be kept but depending on who comes in he might find himself down the pecking order at the club.
And nani was only good for half the season just gone....ando needs to find better form than that to have a realisitic chance of getting a new contract next year
Roy Keane came to United aged 23.
Anderson has already chalked up 3 league winners medals, 2 league cups and a CL winners medal by the same age and played over 100 games for us despite missing a chunk with a cruciate ligament injury.
In flashes he shows what he can offer us as a possible box to box midfielder. I think he's worth hanging onto for a couple more seasons at least. I'd ship Carrick out the door long before Anderson.
Doesn't really matter. Unless of course, you're the oracle on all things football.
Half the season? piss off....
He played well all the way up to the Bolton home game pal when he forced our winning goal. The Bolton game was on the 19th March.
Funny how football myths get born eh.
Oh and he just got named PPOTY, not because he had a good "half season" ffs.
No it wasn't ok, I didn't argue that. I simply argued that your "half season" bollox was exactly that.... bollox.
dont get your knickers in a twist
the point im making is that a player must perform all season, be consistent and relaible, not drift in and out of form.
i exaggerated a bit with the half season yeah but the point is still valid.
Not too many players play an entire season without a dip in form. In fairness to Nani he did Jan 2010 to March 2011 before having a couple of off months.
You're a harsh critic McGrath.
David Villa, Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez, Zlatan, Nasri all had off patches last season, it's pretty normal. Not every attacking player is a Ronaldo or Messi.

ah i know but im pissed off with the fact that barca pissed all over us again and nani was the 1st player i thought of, he's an easy target.
He hasn't been much better than Gibson this season, which says it all. I'm not confident.
