2017 Pre Season | Vålerenga vs Manchester United

If we are to play without proper wingers, we need far more creativity from our midfield in order to have any kind of success. We really don't have any proper wingers, not even Martial. They all perform better when they are playing inside.

Our Finishing... Pogba has been v unlucky but others need to step up.
 
Pogba on a different level, but have been very impressed with Mata too.

I would start him on the right, providing we have a direct player (Perisic) on the other side.
 
If it comes down to Mata or Mickhy for the starting position the later will require to make a massive improvement as far as consistency of performances is concerned.

He's like Martial without pace: Always comes short, never offers the left back the option of the ball over the top, always cuts inside. It's scary how much better Lingard's off the ball movement is.

This worries me too. When he's on it, he looks a fantastic player, but he is so so inconsistent.
 
You can just see Pogba constantly talk to Blind about how he needs to make forward runs. He's so unathletic. Just makes me think what an amazing side we would be with someone like prime Evra :(
 
No attacking fullbacks, no one to distract defenders from wingers out wide. :(
 
I know it's important to give minutes to all players, but we are 12 days away from the start of the PL season so why is our new £75m striker not starting, so he can gel with his new team mates?
Instead we are wasting minutes on players like Fellaini. Sickening.

Impressive is definitely not a word I would use for Mata in this first half. He's a square peg in a round hole on that right hand side.

I'd honestly swap Mata and Mkhi at this point for two fairly average left and right wingers.
 
Pogba and Mata doing well. Good to face a team who are happy to sit back and pack the box when we have possession. We'll be facing that a lot this season. Need to learn how to deal with it.
 
This 4-3-3, even 4-2-3-1 for that matter, is so boring. Players look like they are running through the motions.

Pogba has done feck all. Some shite efforts on goal and that's about it.
 
Forgot Fellaini was on the pitch until just now.
Really boring game.
 
Needs a 2 man midfield in a game like this, I'd like to see Lukaku and Martial on for Mhki and Fellaini.
 
A team with no width will never score never mind win a match. We have 2 terrible full backs and 2 number 10s deployed as a wingers what do we expect ? it's a clear example how this squad is unbalanced.
