He needs more time and interaction with the party base. I think he's made smart moves. He wasn't ready yet as a small town mayor. But, he moved and upped his profile in national politics as Transportation Sec. That is what he needed to do. Now if he can show that he's using the infrastructure money in his department on projects to help the base. He needs a connection with Black and Latino voters especially black women which he is in place to do.

The most common channels are CNN, ESPN, Fox News, Weather Channel, and usually a local network channel or two which is good for morning shows and game shows. But most people aren't really paying attention to the TV, they have air pods and headphones on and most gyms have music playing with the TVs on mute.

You mean Pete as VP yes? No way he should leap over someone with proven experience as a governor with just being a mayor and cabinet secretary. Of course in an open primary, if he wins, he wins (and he has made some good comments so far) but I doubt he could defeat Newsom unless something major changes.
It is odd. I'm not a gym guy, but the couple of times I've been to one, the TVs were showing sports related stuff.
Ultimately, you have to go with a ticket that has the best chance of winning. Pete would also obviously add a touch of unprecedented diversity to such a ticket.
