Doesnt change the fact that it could have ended his career
So could fletcher on Arshavin, but it didn't and therefore we don't care.

We can't evaluate every poor challenge potentially causing injury - for example Davies took out Clichy in that game. If we look at the ones actually causing injury we seem to have been inordinately unlucky wouldn't you say?Doesnt change the fact that it could have ended his career
So what you are saying is... Wenger is wrong because infact all of United, Arsenal, Chelsea and (for arguments sake) Liverpool get played rough.
So what you want Wenger to say is "The better clubs are being played rough against which includes Arsenal."
That was an horrific lunge from Flamini. If he'd have made proper contact with Nani he'd have snapped his legs in half. Shocking how it wasn't met with a red card.
I don't really care what he says but I think he comes across as a bitter twat with a persecution complex, due to his constant whining.
I also think this was a factor in Arsenal's mental fragility in recent seasons. Each team is supposed to embody the qualities of their manager and the spectacular collapse of Arsenal after Edruardo broke his leg was the actions of a team that thinks everything is someone else's fault and who had a tendency to waste time feeling sorry for themselves, rather than looking at the job ahead.
I've no problem with his attitude, obviously. The more whining the better. It's not good for Arsenal football club IMO but that's all good as far as I'm concerned.
Potentially. The facts are we've caused no serious injuries with foul tackles in the last few years and have suffered 3 broken legs (and 3 injuries caused by fouls accounting for 5 months down time in the corresponding fixture at Stoke last year, including an over the ball assault off the pitch by Shawcross).
Ferguson whines like a bitch on heat if the ref adds on a minute less, feck knows what a screeching he'd make if his players got taken out.I've no problem with his attitude, obviously. Except he got only the ball, because he knew what he was doing.

Which players have you lost for significant periods due to bad tackles of late? The only one I can remember is that poor kid Collett which was back in 2004.That right, our players never get taken out![]()

That tackle on Possebon by that Boro' cnut, can't remember his name.
He didn't intend it unless he's a psycho but he had little or no chance of getting the ball, was late and high and used excessive force. He also broke Jeffers ankle two years ago with a late tackle and might well have broken Adebayor's leg (put him out for 5 weeks) with a tackle that was late, high and not even on the field of play.Absolutely. And there's no doubt that some teams play a bit harder against the likes of yourselves because they know that it may well bear fruit. But that's not the same thing as saying Shawcross intended this one. If he has previous against you, fair enough, but I've played a lot of football in my time, and his tackle was a yellow, simply because it was mistimed. I've been on both ends of tackles like that, and if they go from the game we might as well fold and make the game non-contact. I don't think there was any intention to injure him, nor do I think he was overly reckless in making it.

Possebon needed oxygen on the pitch and was then taken straight to hospital for further treatment, with Ferguson fearing bad news on the 19-year-old Brazilian.
He added: "The thing that gets me about challenges like that is that the opponent always claims he has done nothing wrong.
"He [Pogatetz] should have just walked off the field. Then you get their bench screaming that it wasn't a sending off and there is nothing wrong with our player.

That was a terrible, terrible tackle though. The Shawcross one wasn't. He just went to clear the ball and there was an unfortunate coming together. As that cnut Logan said, 999 times out of a 1000 both players would have got up unharmed.
Admit you are wrong Peter.
But Ferguson has been whingeing about all sorts of trivia (getting banned in the process) while having nothing to really whinge about. Even Possebon didn't suffer long-term injury. As to how wenger whinges throughtout the year ? Whereas this is just a one-off in the heat of the moment ?
He clearly meant to break his leg there. ban him for life I say.
Don't think I've commented on this yet but while the whole football community is showing respect for both Shawcross and Ramsay, accepting it was simply a horrific accident, Wenger as usual is making a complete tit of himself. Why doesn't he just stay out of it?
That's exactly what we're NOT dealing in. We're dealing in long-term career-threatening injuries. If we dealing in "might haves"
the press interviewed him 5 minutes after the game and asked him about it, is why.
