Great to hear how well he's settling in and making such a good impression in all aspects. I think it's working out so well that playing in the u21's won't be the best option anymore. If he's settling in really well with the first team, and doesn't look out of place, then it's best to allow that to happen.
I don't see it being too far-fetched to imagine that if he continues to impress in the tour (and that will involve showing more than he did in the Singha match, which as we know was only a little glimpse of what he can really do) then he might just carry straight on into the season proper. After all, Moyes isn't the sort to have gone into the job with too many preconceptions about the players. What he sees is what he'll trust. It very much worked the same way for Cleverley in 2011.
I'd love it if that happened. He doesn't have to keep it up for the entire season; I'd just like Nani and Valencia to have to win back their places, not be given them by default. After last season, neither could have much grounds for complaint if Moyes did just that.
What about it?
...I don't even...Looks like someone pranked him with some tanning spray.
Yeah definitely. I think towards the end of last season he really kicked on for the u21's, culminating in a great display against Spurs (?) towards the end. If he can reach that level by the end of the tour then I think he will be very much in Moyes' thinking for this season. There's no point stifling his development if he's already making an impression amongst better player. Playing in the u21 has pretty much served its purpose for him now, except for the periods where he'll need game time there during tougher first team schedules.
How long does he have left on his contract? I don't want another Pogba situation ;_;
