Adnan Januzaj

What a silly boy trying to control a dropping ball with his shin, thought he was better than that. Clearly not ready to be part of our first team.

Couple of pics from the OS of him out and about and in training with the squad. From various photos, videos and some twitter crap, you get the impression he's settling in well with the first team lads, which is encouraging.

Rio really does seem like an invaluable 'leader in the dressing room' at the moment. In almost every new set of photos, you'll find one of him talking/having a laugh with each of the youngsters coming into the set-up for the first time.

EDIT: Sorry Pocco, didn't seen you'd posted one of these already.

The strange, strange life of a top-level professional footballer. Playing FIFA, score with Robin van Persie, shout 'Robin I love you', and then looking around ask 'where is Robin?'

He seems like a great character.

There was an interview with Cleverley and Welbeck on MUTV the other day in Sydney, where they were asked how everyone (especially out of the newcomers) was settling in - both smiled and mentioned Adnan Januzaj. i think Cleverley said he was "great banter" and gets on with all of the players. He mentioned that in training Januzaj took on and beat Rafael, making him look silly while jokingly reminding of it throughout the day...Rafael was not best pleased!

Januzaj is a youngster who I think everyone that had seen him was very excited about due to his ability for the last couple of years. But it is great to see him integrating into the first team set-up, making an impression and hopefully he'll be able to show his confidence/ability consistently on the pitch. Plenty of development still needed but plenty of potential there too for him to go on to become a top class player.

Great to hear how well he's settling in and making such a good impression in all aspects. I think it's working out so well that playing in the u21's won't be the best option anymore. If he's settling in really well with the first team, and doesn't look out of place, then it's best to allow that to happen.

I don't see it being too far-fetched to imagine that if he continues to impress in the tour (and that will involve showing more than he did in the Singha match, which as we know was only a little glimpse of what he can really do) then he might just carry straight on into the season proper. After all, Moyes isn't the sort to have gone into the job with too many preconceptions about the players. What he sees is what he'll trust. It very much worked the same way for Cleverley in 2011.

I'd love it if that happened. He doesn't have to keep it up for the entire season; I'd just like Nani and Valencia to have to win back their places, not be given them by default. After last season, neither could have much grounds for complaint if Moyes did just that.

Yeah definitely. I think towards the end of last season he really kicked on for the u21's, culminating in a great display against Spurs (?) towards the end. If he can reach that level by the end of the tour then I think he will be very much in Moyes' thinking for this season. There's no point stifling his development if he's already making an impression amongst better player. Playing in the u21 has pretty much served its purpose for him now, except for the periods where he'll need game time there during tougher first team schedules.

Agreed. And he's just too good to go out on loan. If I was Moyes I wouldn't let him out of my sight.

Came in and looked very sharp I thought. Great movement and little flicks. Love him already. Hope he stays with us.

First time I've seen him properly. You can instantly tell that the kid has great technical ability.

He's a Moyes-kind of player. Brilliant at drifting across the pitch and link up play with short, intelligent passes.

Great talent. Would be bad to loan him out now. Could play a big part for us this season.

I wouldn't go as far to say he's special but certainly he's one of the best technical players we've seen coming through for a while now. Works hard too.

I think he's special. If you didnt know he was young, you would think he had been a regular for some years.

feck it. I think he's special. So intelligent for a player of his age. Will be a great option to have from the bench for the first quarter of the season - hopefully then he'd have impressed enough to be challenging for starting spots.

I think he's very special personally considering this guy hasn't played first team competitive football before and is able to produce the magic he does.

That weighted pass to Zaha at the end was so elegant and precise.

Him and Zaha are already a breath of fresh air. Play with the arrogance and flair of United players.. lets hope they can produce when the real work starts, I feel they can.

Young, Nani and Valencia gonna need to up their games or the kids will be hot on their tails.

How long does he have left on his contract? I don't want another Pogba situation ;_;

The more relevant question to ask there would be: Does Januzaj have a manipulative cnut of an agent?

Adnan seems like a great kid, whereas Pogba is a bit of dick.
