Anderson

Poor performance's are one thing but walking around the pitch for an entire match is something else. His attitude is terrible and his passing is just as bad. I don't think I could name another player with as many games as Anderson where there performance hasn't been up to scratch. If he is our future then we're in trouble.

He needs time out from the first team.

He wasn't THAT bad in the first half. I felt he was almost okay but my expectations are quite low of course.

The second half was the real disaster from him.
He was shite from the first minute - his first pass went straight to the opposition.

At least he was consistent.

He really was just lazy tonight, he would just randomly go half-heartedly in to a tackle and just let the ball fly off his foot in no particular direction or just kick it for the sake of kicking it.

I wouldn't go as far as saying he was terrible tonight but he was clearly not too inspired either.

He needs to remember that it's a privelege to play for this team and this manager. If your form dips, you can at least put in the effort.

He was just terrible. Player have such nights from time to time. Last week it was Valencia's turn vs the same opponents. I'm just surprised people are so determined to make mountains out of it.

"There is no progress in life without failure, "For one thing, it means you think about how you got to the top in the first place. '' SAF

With such a man as his manager, he will learn.

It's his fifth season under that particular manager so he must be a fecking slow learner.

Sorry but don't buy that he doesn't have enough footballing intelligence. He has plenty of it and has demonstrated that in patches.

Problem is SAF and Anderson can't work out how best to get Anderson to work on a consistent basis. The best we saw of Anderson was with Cleverley but as many posters have pointed out it isn't good enough to only play well with one partner.

Im afraid that problem has nothing to do with the manager.

I just want to see him make a tackle. Go in hard and come out with the ball. He's a strong lad. Is it that really too much to ask?

It would be nice if he chased back at times. I remember against City he let the City midfielders just waltz past him a few times. Something like he did with Iniesta in Rome 09.

Ofcourse I would forgive his defensive lapses if he was being a creator on a regular basis. But even that part of his game is so frustratingly hot and cold. There are atleast 2-3 times every game that he gives the ball away with one his woeful hollywood passes. Seriously, keep the fecking ball. Brazilians are suppose to be good at that part.

As it turns out he is neither here nor there. Shit defensively and average at best as a creative force in his current form.

Not good enough to play in a two man midfield and barely OK to play in a three.

I really hate slating United players but, at one point, he appeared to be tip-toeing, never mind jogging. I fear he's gone the Ronaldinho route (only minus the talent) - he'd rather be on the beach.

It's because his form has been on a downward trajectory for a reasonable run of time now...

He has gone progressively worse every year save a few games.

Reasonable run my foot. You lot are acting like he has been out of form for over 12 games:lol:

Frankly tonight, save for Rooney, and Park the substitute our midfield was shocking. Nani, Valencia and Anderson were in laughable form. So despite him being dreadful I'm less inclined to make it more than it was. I really felt sorry for Chicharito and Berba.

He's not a midfielder, it's a simple as that.

I'm starting to see it that way as well, it seems he's best running at the defence so really needs to be playing in the Rooney role (by that I mean Rooney's usual role)

His head wasn't in it at all tonight. Needs a bit of confidence to get him going again.
TBF I don't think confidence had anything to do with it. It was just plain bad form. He suffered its effects worse than Nani and Valencia did tonight. 2 laughing heads are the perfect description for the effect on him

What is he then? He was invariably horrible out wide, he'd obviously make an awful striker... full-back? His tackling is shite and I'm not sure he has the defensive nous anyway.

Chubby enough to be a good old-fashioned goalie but way too short. So seriously, if he's not a midfielder, where the hell should he play?

No idea. Charlene's probably right though, but he's got a problem... I think that role is filled.

I wonder what's up with the whole weight on his passes thing? It's very strange to see a player put so much more weight on them than needed.

I think his first couple of actions in a game can sometimes dictate how he will play the rest of the game. If the first couple of passes don't come off it tends to set the trend.

Performances like tonight are why opposition fans find him a bit of a laughing stock. It is normal for players to have a bad game or be in bad form every now and then but when Anderson plays bad, you sometimes wonder what he is even doing out there... He started the season well (3 or 4 games) but since then, i don't even know what to think.

And that's why I cannot see him as an AM, ever. The further forward he plays, the more his passes will land in Row Z.

Left back.

I still reckon we're working on improving his defensive game and overall positional intelligence and when that clicks we'll see a very effective all-round midfielder.

That's so true, every single fan outside of United think's he's terrible, recent weeks really dont help with that

Anderson's finishing is woeful to be playing in "Rooney's role".

We always look at the 2 good performances he puts in a season where he looks like a world beater as a sign of his potential but 4 and a bit years in and it's the same old story.

Nonsense... it's been a fair few games since we've seen him try Hollywood passes and feck up 9/10 of them. He's actually scored a fair few good goals the past 7 months (considering how long it took him to break his duck) and he's not as guilty of running out of steam.

I can't believe that people don't feel he's progressed the past few years.

I didn't see tonight's match, but from people's reactions on here it was a bit of a yawn all-round, so I wouldn't scrutinise him too much based on tonight, if he did indeed turn in a bad shift.

After tonight, I'd like to see him complete a pass. Let's walk before we can run, eh.

there was the one play in the second half where ge went on a surging run and the only pass was to either Nani/Hernandez making a run down the left channel. It was going to be a tough pass being on the run and hassled by a defender but you knew, you just fecking knew he would smash that pass into the stetty. He didnt disappoint.

It was a disappoint performance but hopefully he realises that and looks to improve.

I've completely given up on him I'm afraid. Having said that I didn't like the sarcastic cheers from the crowd when his substitution was announced. There's no need for that. It's not going to help anyone.

No, it's not but when the crowd sees that a Manchester United player can't be arsed to give his all for the shirt, I don't blame them. Just how many chances are we supposed to give him? I don't enjoy slating our own but Anderson did himself no favours.
