Big blow going into City
Because as although Yaya Toure has had a difficult season, their power and strength in midfield is the big difference between the two sides, and he epitomises that. And Anderson would have been excellent in trying to match up against that

Hamstring is usually 5-6 weeks. I just hope Fergie sticks with him when he is healthy again. Usually after his injuries he gets shelved until the league cup or some meaningless matches.

So he can get hurt again?

I was trying to give him a chance this season to change my mind but unfortunately today just reaffirmed it.

Undoubtedly has the ability to be what we need in midfield but not the fitness. We just can't rely on him, it's as simple as that.

If I see that lineup im fecking turning off the telly.

That statement is just beautiful as much as I'm not for that midfield id still support it. But I'd just turn off the telly bit just tops it off! Sorry mate don't mean to highlight you but wtf!

Shitting fecking luck this.

-----Fletch
Scholes -- Giggs
-------Jones

against Citeh please

We might not win, but at least we'll fecking boss the midfield.

I get the frustration but how about being disappointed for the lad? We've needed a new midfielder despite Anderson's injury problems. Hopefully he can stay fit when he comes back. Maybe he needs a infamous "why can't...." thread.

I just hope we have him back for the weekend, he is so much more than any other of our midfielders. What a player he can be for us this season, his pace and vision really create the space we need to attack. He even penetrate defensive formations and creat space then, how can you defend against us then?

At least it's not another knee injury. I was worried watching his reaction after getting subbed. It looked like he thought he knew it was something bad.

I think that was pure fustration as he was running the game and he knew it.

Just the poor feckers luck in great form and his body lets go...

Anderson 'out for a few weeks'

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Anderson hobbled out of United's dramatic win at Reading with a hamstring injury.

The Brazilian midfielder, who has featured in United's last eight games including the victory at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday, was forced off just before half-time having netted United's first goal of the game with an excellent drive into top corner.

Sir Alex told MUTV after the match that Anderson had pulled his hamstring and now faces a spell on the sidelines.

"It's a hamstring unfortunately. He'll be out for a few weeks," Sir Alex confirmed.

"He's been playing really well and scored a great goal today. I'm very disappointed for him."

At least it's not his knee. I was afraid he might have a chronic, career-threatening issue.

This will set him back though. Just when he was beginning to show his true value. In this match, for the first time ever with Anderson at OT, I said to myself "this guy is looking like the world-class talent we thought we'd bought nearly six years ago."

Same old story with anderson he starts playing really well then gets injured his whole career at united has been like that.
Such a shame he was great wednesday night v west ham and started well again today we will miss him big time next week

Feels like everyone in the team is getting a hamstring injury. So frustrating

Do you honestly believe that Anderson's physicality would have had any effect whatsoever on Yaya Toure? Anderson only really uses his to shield the ball and Toure doesnt do much defending for City the way they use him. It'd be more about resisting Barry

Because Giggs or Scholes or Cleverley are more physical than Anderson?

Really gutted for Anderson. Just as he was starting to show us what he can do he gets unlucky with an injury.

Big blow losing him for the City match, I feel much less confident now. That said, you can't even be sure Fergie would have played him anyway.

Shame. Was in great form and scored a cracking goal. Who to play now against City? For me, Cleverly has to come in for him.

..............carrick..........

To my mind Fletch has looked a million miles away from being ready. That probably means Rooney playing in front of Cleverley and Carrick but I suspect Fergie will pick Giggs instead of Cleverley.

So that is anderson done for this year then? Hopefully he can get over this quickly and build on his last few performances next year.

I feel sorry for Anderson. I was watching an interview with him, Paddy Crerand and Quinton Fortune on MUTV not long ago and he was in great spirits chatting and laughing with the two of them. That was until Paddy mentioned his injuries and the troubles he'd had with them, at which point his face just dropped.

You can really tell how much it annoys him and that it gets to him. A player of Anderson's talent should be one of the best by now and it's so unfortunate for him that he's constantly battled against this.

Should be nowhere near the first team. I'd rather see Jones in there.

If the same shit happens with injuries this year, he has to go in the Summer.
