Must say his shooting is something special. Makes Oshea look a goal poacher.

The other night I thought he looked a bit heavy and rusty.

Today I wondered at the very beginning if he was going to have another one of those days.

Then he found his positioning in the centre of the Everton half and ran the game from there. Strategically superb. He found that by making 15 yard runs at the heart of their defence (and sometimes across it) he could drag defenders & midfielders out of position and create space for others.

His passing was great (on the whole), the occasional interception was whole. I'm still convinced he can be an effective goalscorer. With him back for the rest of the season we might be able to do tons!

top class today I thought. Played as the quarter back and wasn't shy about getting forward himself

Hopefully next year he can nail down a starting position like Nani did this season

I don't like the fact that he's criticised for being hit and miss. Giggs is exactly the same playing more or less the same role. Only difference is Giggs is much more experienced so he'l always have a higher success rate.

The margin of error on Giggsy's passing is far better than Anderson's on a bad day... With Giggs it's often the tiniest margin of error that foils him, whereas Anderson often blasts a ball too hard, too high or too far ahead of a player to a degree that doesn't happen as often for Giggs.

But by all means, with his vision and capability when it comes to striking the ball, I'll wait a fair few more years to see Ando take on the mantle of playmaker regularly.

He's been the United player whose future I've been most excited by for some time now before the arrival of Hernandez. Can't wait for it to come together completely.

Stepped up big time when we needed it. Nice to see he has some of this stuff in his locker like the balls through. More often than not picked the right option which cant be said about some of our attackers today.

Still back to Ando, nice to see him pass the ball, run with the ball, track back and help out going forward. Him/Hargreaves partnership would have been immense for us.

A great game from him.

However I want more consistency. It seems whenever he has a good game and you think "He's arrived" he usually goes and has a poor game away from home or gets injured.

He was fecking mint today, really impressed with the lad, always had high hopes for me and he's showing to show true class

I hope we see the Anderson of today on a more consistent basis, he was excellent. The thing I like most is his ability to get out of tight positions in midfield and drive us into the opposition's half, we don't have anyone else like that.

Strange, I didn't think he was THAT great today. A good game yes, but nothing more than that. If I get a chance to watch it again I'll have to pay more attention to Ando.

I also thought it was strange he had to get Hernandez to interpret for him in the MOM interview. Obviously his English isn't great, but I thought it was good enough to understand and make himself understood. Unless he was just a bit self-conscious about it being on TV.

I couldn't care less if he never speaks the language well TBH as long as he now adds consistency to his game.

He was in a different class to Everton's midfield and that willingness to run at a defence is what we've been missing, added to the passes which were excellent I hope we see the player SAF has much faith in

Very good game - hopefully will be given a chance to build on it next weekend. Don't see him starting away to Schalke. He is so strong and love the way he drives at defenses. His shot -it was with his right, so expected to be weak but, he played some nice balls with his right foot which he doesn't do too often.

I've said previous times that he gives us something others don't in that area, and by that I mean getting the ball, running at the opposition and pinning them back. He's good at holding and shielding the ball too, he's good upper body strength. Some of his passing is inconsistent at times, but he played a beautiful ball in particular today, I think it was to Chicharito.

He's just getting back from injury, so he was a little rusty but let's hope today is the start of good form until the end of the season.

Awesomeness today.

He's finally beginning to learn the Scholes trick of positioning himself just behind the player with the ball so that he's available to pass the ball on.

He does have great strength and for once he used it productively.

I counted only one overhit pass today, the rest were superb or just nice and simple to men in space which is what he needs to do

Good point

He's far more open to receiving the ball in recent games whereas previously he used to stand around and ballwatch far too often.

The accuracy of his passing is getting better as well - can only remember him giving it away cheaply once whereas that would've been half the time previously.

Great range of passing, and for once he didn't look like he was 40 years old come the 80th minute...still, the boy just has no goal threat in him. It's odd to watch a Brazilian player who just never looks like scoring. Ever.

I mean, there are rightbacks who look more threatening. Hell, there are centrebacks who look more potent, but everytime Ando takes a shot it's 50 miles to the side of goal, or so weak a 6 year girl could save it.

If he works on that one aspect of his game he'd be able to take that step up and compete for a place in the national team.

He can shoot, has his a few great ones for the reserves just in his last couple of games for them, just seems to snatch at it with the first team. You could argue that it's because he has less time to hit it, but he does it even when he's got all the time in the world.

Watch his last 2 reserve matches regarding his goal threat - he just needs a bit more confidence in first team games and perhaps run of games. He's getting there.

As far as Brazilian not being a goal threat - I give you Lucas Levia but, having a good season for the dippers.

Thought he played very well, showed more glimpses of the player he can be that I've seen in quite a while today. And he lasted 90 minutes!

On the lasting 90 minutes - I know that's his style of game but, I'd be curious how many players that can play the way he does and consistently last night minutes - players that carry the ball from CM and drive at defender and still cover defensively as well. Obviously he needs to build up to being able to play to that level consistently but, it's not like when he tires out after 60-70 minutes, he's just being playing at a steady pace.

It's a bit of a choice I think in the end, curb some of his play by getting him to take the pass instead of carrying the ball forward or even perhaps not be energetic closing down, fighting players off while maintaining possession or let him play like he does and then keep in mind may need to replace him around 70 -80 minutes.

Hopefully what happens is he'll have a bit of rest this summer, work on his fitness more, perhaps learn on the field when to conserve energy some and then complete more and more games at the level the same high level as today.

Stamina isn't difficult to acquire though. Just a case of conditioning and learning to breathe. Maybe he should join Giggs for a session of yoga?

Stamina is easy to acquire if you are going at steady pace for the whole game but, I'd say it is very hard to acquire enough stamina to play large parts of a football game at relatively high pace like Anderson plays.

Even Giggs said after the Chelsea game the difference of playing in the middle is you get to pick and choose your moments - this is something Ando will have to do a bit more of. Am sure he can increase his stamina but, also that will come with play more consistently (match fitness versus training fitness) and also a summer off with time spent building that stamina up for the season.

I think some high intensity training could be beneficial. The fact is though that he could play at that pace throughout the 90 if he's willing to put in the same effort during the week.

He speaks for himself considering his age. Players like Anderson will have to play at a high intensity most parts of the game.

He said that as in comparison to playing on the wing versus playing centrally. On the wing you have to get up and down the pitch a lot more is what he said. In CM one can be a little more conservative in when they push up. Like I said earlier - Ando could take the easier way out in playing the pass instead of driving with the ball, that would conserve his energy levels during a game but, then you take away an important part of his game.

BB - yep, some better training could certainly help, hopefully he'll look into it but, still think he'll do better after this summer with some rest, a proper season to start helping build the fitness required and then possibly a run of games where at the start where you aren't playing every 3/4 days to really build up his stamina.

Absolutely stunning today, rarely put a step wrong, top player

Hold on, I'm a huge Anderson fan, I've been defending him on here or in real life discussions many a time... but did I miss something? He was good I thought, but the praise on here is way overboard.

If that was an amazing performance, then Iniesta and co are delivering godly performances by the week.

Top talent this Anderson, but i hope he finds the consistency to match that talent! brilliant game against Everton!

Played very well today, and lasted 90 minutes for once, he'd been subbed off in 9 of his 12 PL appearances this season before today.

Out of interest looked at the Ratings in todays papers:-

News Of The World: Anderson 7
The People: Anderson 6
The Observer: Anderson 6

Yet Sky and most here have him as MOM!!!

Did I miss something?
