Angel Di Maria | Performances | Wife: "He only joined United for money. The food was disgusting. The women look like porcelain"

Makes me a little happy inside everytime he fails.

He's played in the last 16 of the Champions League final.

We are 6th in the league and didn't even qualify for the Champions League.

I don't understand why United fans hate him so much. It's clear he and his family never settled here, he didn't get on with LvG, he rarely got a consistent run in the same position, and then got benched for Ashley Young.

He's never came out and directly bad mouthed the club.

"Last 16 of the Champions League final" is a nice way of saying "First knockout stage of the Champions League".

How can you not understand why people hate him? Completely disrespected the club, didn't look even remotely arsed about being here after about 5 games, was desperate to leave the second he got a chance. Feck him. He got benched because his attitude was appalling and was completely shit for us.

Mascherano: "Its clear that I did foul Di Maria but I think that's not the reason why we eliminated PSG."
Weird how they didnt show a replay. Looked like an obvious clip at first the way di maria fell but was hard to tell kinda without a replay.

Mascherano: "Its clear that I did foul Di Maria but I think that's not the reason why we eliminated PSG."

Wow, he actually said that/
At first I didnt think it was a foul as I wasnt even looking at the Barca player, but on replay after seeing Di Maria hold his foot its just hard to tell from the only angle we got. Normally they zoom in, show different angles but it wasnt even mentioned which was weird.

Saying that I remember Di Maria playing for United and he fecked up a 1 on 1 chance against Arsenal (just before Rooney scored his chance).

Did he not get fouled?

Mascherano has admitted fouling him but the damage is done. He must feel bad about him because he's now a joke and rightly labeled as a 'pecho frío' (bottler) all across the world.

Despite this he still bottled it as he should have passed it to Cavani, it was the safer choice and he decided to take a gamble on chipping the keepr instead so even with the penalty comitted to him he could had solved that play better.

AdM scored 2 solo goals (and had an assist too I think) in the 1st leg, he was fouled for the chance, and here he is the focus of attention...
Without that 1st leg performance, this comeback wouldn't have been necessary, he was MotM easily.

I think some posters are missing the part where Mascherano admitted fouling ADM as he went to shoot. This allied with a strange absence of the usual various angles has made me hold off on condemning ADM too harshly. Yes, he should have squared it to Cavani. But where were all those camera angles? The ones you normally see so many of you grow sick of watching them? During the match, they didn't even show a single replay, even though the commentators acknowledged that Di Maria was at the very least claiming to have been fouled. In fact, they even noted that the Spanish broadcasters weren't showing any replays of what was a turning point. Doesn't that seem strange to anyone else?

The reason they didn't show them was because it was a clear penalty. What exactly are those bozos doing behind the goal line anyway?

TBF it looks like the shot already left his foot before he was fouled, can't really tell though due to the lack of angles.

The whole thing seems odd to me, and usually I'm the last person to buy into tinfoil hat stuff. And I'm not even saying "conspiracy" here, but it's sure opened my eyes to how broadcasting/editing decisions can affect the perception of how games turn out.

I mean, fair play to Mascherano for admitting it, because it really did turn the match. There's no way Barca would have clawed their way back from that. But yeah. What a strange match, and after such astonishing events I don't feel like putting much if any of the blame on ADM.

My tinfoil hat theory is that Trapp threw the game.

He let Suarez score at '2, was nowhere for the Iniesta moment that lead to the goal, didn't dive for the Neymar FK. Could have got a hand to Messi penalty, almost jumped out of the way of Robertos goal. Honestly 5 of the goals he could have saved.

I think he would be stupid to pass the ball in that situation because of the second Barca tracking back. If hes not there, its an easy pass across ala Bayern yesterday with Vidals goal.

I cant tell if his foot was clipped or not. At first I thought it wasnt, then you see Mascherano(?) dive in, and sometimes you see the little clip can put you off balance easily, even if its slight. Surprised there was no zoom in on that.

He had about a 50% chance of scoring when running through if he chose to go himself and around a 80% chance if not higher if he squared it. He could have put the tie to bed but he went for personal glory. He wasn't at fault for 6 goals conceded but his self indulgence has ended up very costly.

100% agree

This.

United paid him about 10 million quid to do feck-all for a year. If people think we should be grateful he hasn't come out and bad-mouthed the club they've got some seriously low standards.

Bottled it because he didnt pass  salty United fans

Whenever I watch players like Ronaldo, Tevez, Forlan I remember them playing for us but players like Di Maria and Pique are never remembered in the same way. Pique always had good words to say about the club and was always full of praise but for some reason I don't associate him playing for us. Di Maria is completely different, it was like he was here on a loan spell for few months.

Someone has to make a montage of all his hideous chips. The one vs Arsenal, two in OP, one yesterday. I'm sure there are more.

See the video above go to 6 seconds and freeze it

I think he gets a clean enough contact to finish, the foul didn't disrupt him that much.

He's already starting to panic though before taking the shot. You can see he begins to fumble and hesitate, takes one touch too many. He shouldn't have given Mascherano the chance to get near him.

At the same time, if he passes it across he needs it to be perfect given the backtracking Barca player. And if he fluffs that everybody will call him a bottler considering hes one on one with the keeper.

Also I did lol at the numbers you stated.

Because Di Maria was a failure in Manchester, most of you are incapable to make an unbiased assessment of his performances.

The worst player on the pitch was Lucas Moura.

I know forums are used as a way to put your point across and try and bring others round to your way of thinking, but for di Maria there's no way you'd be able to do that, a vast majority of United fans enjoy seeing him fail and will continue to make every mistake (however small) seem like he's just missed an open net in the WC final, they enjoy see him struggle and will blow everything out of proportion.

I swear he always tries to chip, when he's one on one with the keeper?

He never looks comfortable when running at a goalkeeper. He was great in the first leg though. Didn't really seem too involved last night apart from that chance. PSG just couldn't keep the ball, let alone get the ball to a forward.

He was carrying an injury...

Should have passed. Went for glory himself and failed miserably. when you have a wide open goal like that for a team mate to tap it in you HAVE to take it. He didn't even hit the target which is inexcusable really.

i'm sorry, but if mascherano admits to fouling him...how is that not a big deal? that would have been penalty AND red card for mascherano. Even if PSG missed the penalty, barca would have had to score 3 goals in 10 minutes down to 10 man...i mean...

So what do you want to happen?

I'd like for barcelona to be banned from football forever, but i guess i'm not gonna get my wish :lol::lol:

With a game that ludicrous, anything is possible, I swear.
