Fans deserved it for being twats. So what, he didn't enjoy it here so he left. Boo him and get a reaction. He's only human. A neutral would have loved seeing him do that beer bit of the "yap yap yap" sign to the crowd. It was well within his right to do so.

Agreed. The guy gets called a cnut left and right on these boards for not integrating well to the team and then get butt-hurt when some dare say he's given them what they deserved. It's not an attack against anybody here, it's against those fans who wanted to get at him. They wanted to poke the bear, they got mauled on this one.
 
The more the fans booed him the better he played. Guess he’s not so mentally weak after all.

You're putting it as he got ton of abuse. Poking a bear ffs? He got booed, nothing special. He certainly didn't yell fek of cause he's been called a cnut on this boards.
 
I couldn’t be bothered with the panto booing, would have been better just to ignore him. His time was us feels like an eternity ago and was over pretty quickly.

He got stick from the home fans, it's part of the deal. I have no issues with anything that happened tonight, including how the fans treated him. I just find it amusing that some of you are so offended by what he did when you call the guy a cnut left and right. Did you expect him to show respect when he's getting booed left and right and getting a bottle thrown at him?

He deserved that for riling the crowd up. Most players just get on with it but he seems to take it personal, only this time it worked his favour.
 
Getting jeered for crashing into the barrier and having stuff thrown at him when taking the corner in the second half. I'm not a fan of the guy but he's well within his right to give something back after that; I know I would.

He got bottle thrown at him after the fek of thing. Nobody is offended, you're exaggerating things completely. Calling him here a cnut or whatever doesnt have anything with what happened tonight at OT.

I'm no fan of his but I can't justify throwing bottles at him. I don't think he did anything to warrant that. The booing I had no problem with and expected, but the obects being thrown at him was too much.

Wonderful player though that showed it tonight.

That's all the PSG fans will care about. He wasn't at United long enough for some of us have the strongest emotional attachment to him.. And he had LVG as manager who can be an idiot with players he doesn't get along with. . So the blame can be apportioned somewhat.

Di Maria left. It was the best for all parties too.

If his response to being booed was to perform at a halfway decent standard and abuse opposition fans - possibly inciting crowd trouble in the process - then yes, the bear got his revenge.

Doesn't make him any less of a petulant little cretin, though.

DiMaria was great tonight. One of his best games in recent years. When he was here he showed some flashes of that quality in the early part of the season but then LVG ruined him. To be fair as well DiMaria reacted to the situation with a huge display of wimpyness and then fled out of here. I can understand that he wants to forget the experience. But what is with the hate for the club and the fans? You got beef with LVG fine but your bitterness against the club and the fans is misplaced. If anything he should feel embarrassed for how he responded to LVG's bullying.

Some comments in here tonight, the state of this place defending some of his actions. He refused to play for United for fecking off to Psg, didn't bother going to pre season. He never wanted to come to United fair enough, we were a make do option till he got his move. I personally wouldn't have booed him, don't think he deserves recognition. Kind of like Moyes, he had a fantastic game tonight. He really stood up to the challenge.

This is my problem with some of you lot tonight.

Celebrating against your former club is one thing, going mental, shushing them taking a corner and telling them to fecking off in Spanish is another. Some of the absolute clowns in here defending his actions he's a professional footballer that crossed the line and got a violent response. If your going to provoke a home crowd like that, expect a response.

Players get booed all the time, it's common as muck in football, but the majority are mature enough to ignore it and go about their business in a professional manner. Di Maria responded like an idiot and he received an equally idiotic response in return.

Feel free to say "that's ridiculous, it's a different situation" even though it's really just a matter being accustomed to it, not of it being in any way acceptable. I mean hate him all you want for being a prick in general, which it definitely seems like he is. But it's not hard to see why he responded this way today imo.
