Anthony Martial | Sevilla loan watch

We sign players without factoring in the attitude and mentality so we shouldn’t be surprised when we end up with several lazy ones

He'd do well in Serie A and nowhere else.

He's been shit for two seasons now and nobody in their right mind is going to take him on £240k p/w. Absolutely staggering incompetence that led to him commanding such a high wage.

United policy of leaving player to 1 year left on his contract. Thus United need to give him that outrageous wage, or he could just leave for free the next season.

This most likely would happen to Rashford if United don't make decision this Summer.

What the actual feck is wrong with our players? Does our club just drain them of their will to achieve things in football or do we just turn them into entitled d*ckheads. I heard VDB's attitude was questioned by Lampard too.
It’s a fair point to be made at the minute and I think it is just that. Our club is poisonous and there are people within it who are poisonous. I think a few of these players get put on pedestals after a few good games. They inexplicably get the big new contract and then have no desire to improve. Surround themselves with yes men, start believing they’re above criticism.
Put half a dozen of these type of players together and this is what you have, a rotten squad and rotten club. Nothing changes.

Doesn’t help either when a manager comes in and tries his best to cut out the shite attitude but then gets moaned at for “holding players back”. Mourinho saw all this shit years ago with these players and we chose the players over him. Ole tried a different approach and it worked for a small time but then they fecked him over too.

I also think United fans have a habit of propelling players far above their ability. Remember this is a fanbase who had sections of it saying United should not sign Haaland because it would hold back Martial. They then said signing Ronaldo would hold back Greenwood and Rashford.

United will have to bite the bullet and move on all the players Ralf tells them to…all those not good enough and may even Martin will realize he’s been the problem all along.

I was at the game this evening, he was extremely poor. His body language is also a disgrace, the way he sauntered off around the pitch after getting subbed, its like he dosnt give a toss!

Whats hilarious was his interview in the Guardian the other day where he blamed the atmosphere at United and that he was ready for somewhere new, so he could get back to his best. And look, same apathetic shit from a lazy, lazy player.

Another dud. Amazing how many players talents have just disappeared at the club.

They was 20/21. Tell me what young players Jose had put on. This was the guy who told Salah and De Bruyne to dip. Let’s not re-write history. It hasn’t worked but it’s not due to talent.

Incredible how so many of our players have mental and tactical deficiencies. When Martial broke through he did have a much higher level of intensity. Nothing special but he has progressively gotten more and more disinterested and lacking in ethic.

Well, Mourinho himself signed Pogba who has himself been an issue and was deemed a problem by the manager who signed him. And this is the same Mourinho who would have got backed much more if he hadn't replaced Martial/Rashford's place in the 1st team with.... Alexis Sanchez only our worst ever signing. So yeah, we need someone to come in and be THE boss, but that man was not Mourinho.

Where is Martial FC hiding now?
9 completed passes in the game

We making a mistake letting our most talented forward go is what I heard. Rangnick was right to let him go so everyone can see how bad this guy is.

Forget his qualities, we know he possess quality but quality is not enough, Martial has no worth ethic, 0 intensity which is why he shouldn't play for Manutd again.

A poor player.

Anthony Martial (59 ') against Sociedad (0-0) : "A huge lack of intensity. He did not win a single duel and his apathy caused boos in the stands. For the moment, it is a fiasco. 3/10"

Damn. No surprise though

Booing already? Thought fans were not allowed to boo players?
They don't have patience in Spain for lazy feckers unlike in England.

He’s part of our history, the worst part. He actually sums up the current regime. Doesn’t try, doesn’t run, poor attitude. Must be sold in the summer, can’t have him here.

I remember when he played a pass that Cavani crossed and Rashford scored in the dying minutes against West Ham maybe? And Martial FC were in here purring about no other player at the club being that selfless or having that much vision, not to mention the mantra of "he loves the club!" bollocks.

Seem's even his staunchest of supporters have left him now he isn't wearing United colours and he's putting in the same level of effort and performances elsewhere.

The best part is, we're going to lose Cavani, maybe Ronaldo, and end up with just a sulking Martial and an out of form Rashford. Worrying times.

We are a graveyard for hopes and careers. A young player has a good season and suddenly he is the next coming of Cristiano Ronaldo - cue multi-year contract on 200-300k/week. Gets showered with praise all the time. You say anything bad you are tormenting him. When you have all that at 22-23, why even bother anymore? Greenwood, Rashford, Martial etc. The fans don't know their worth. We are paying the salaries of these players, but apparently you are entitled if you want them to perform according to their pay. No standards, no demands to deliver, no responsibility.

If it's not a young player, then it's players on their last contracts that use the club as their retirement fund, while the club uses them for marketing purposes.

The squad is rotten. The club is rotten. The entire culture around this club is rotten.

Do you think Martial actually enjoys playing football? He doesn't really give that impression at all.

When he was at United, you could pass it off as him being unhappy and/or demoralised. But he seems to be just the same at Sevilla too.

Yeah you’re making it about Mourinho. I’m not saying Mourinho was right for us but on that particular front he was. Player power has taken over at United and that’s a problem. I’m not saying we should have kept Mourinho or anything like that just that the message he tried to get across with our younger players was shunted and I think we’re seeing the problems now.

Considering United are so keen to brief how much they do their background checks on players before signing them, they end up with a lot of half-arsed ones. I wonder who is doing those background checks...

Someone who are half arsed themselves

He caused the environment, it’s not like these players were first teamers. Rashford and Martial rotated a lot, he made Shaw a whipping boy. The problems arised when Ole gave us a bounce and we decided to make a Beta male restructure our club full time.

You pay them twice the salaries they deserve to earn and that's exactly whats gonna happen.

Ole deserves to hold a large portion of the blame for that.

He opted to bring in Ronaldo and Cavani on expensive, short terms deals. Couple that with Ighalo, where is the forward planning?

His option wasn’t Cavani or Haaland though was it? It was Cavani or no-one and Ronaldo or no-one, both were last minute opportunities.

And to be fair, both of them have a miles better fecking attitude when they play than 95% of our other players.

That's a real issue. We pay poor players and good players brilliantly. I doubt there's another club with such a disparity between performance vs wage as at our club.

He failed to bring in Haaland and Bellingham you mean?

That was on him a different coach would of got them into the squad.
I think it's more to do with Haaland wanting to play in Spain and Bellingham wanting to go the route of Sancho. The club on the whole, including the manager, are the reason we didn't land them.

Yeah agree to disagree but fully get your point. Well it’s how it’s turning out at the end of the day.

Hopefully we land Bellingham on his next move though.

It feel's a bit like football is getting in the way of their brands, not the other way around anymore.

But Martial doesn't have a brand. He is very talented but just couldn't be arsed to make an effort now.
Sell him and we don't need players who don't try.

I kind of see what you mean. You can get the vibe that it seems like he does it because he’s good at it (relatively speaking, these days) and it’s his profession, not because he actually wants to be a player. Like that Assou Ekotto quote.

Shhh next people here will call you out for abusing our player. All of them need their balls to be fondled like a pearl

Wasn’t it Giggs that wanted him and van Gaal approved the signing because he was the manager and Giggs was touted to take over after him?
