Sure he does. Every morning, Scholesy gets up, and goes out onto the roof. He looks north, frowns, looks west, scowls, looks south, gets the crazy eyes, and when he turns east and sees that the sun has once again risen in that same direction, lets loose a torrent of profanity at the predictable sun.

Sometimes he flings poo at it.

Actually laughing out loud here.

A more accurate saying would be " It`d be like getting an injured player back from injury"

Accurate would be getting a fit player back from injury !

Hargreaves is getting an "injured" player back from injury...

And we dont want that now do we?

Yeh it is given that whenever I think of Antonio Valencia, I'm almost inclined to think by necessary connection of him crossing ball on the deck straight to Wayne Rooney's feet.

Antonio Valencia targets Copa America as he bids to return to Manchester United team by February

Antonio Valencia has no intention of taking it easy when he gets back from a career-threatening ankle injury in 2011.

The Manchester United winger has progressed well since breaking and dislocating his left ankle back in September and could return to action in February.

And the 25-year-old has no intention of following the example of some of South America’s biggest stars by sitting out the Copa America in July.

Ecuador have been drawn in a tasty group with Brazil, Paraguay and Venezuela for a tournament that is an important prelude to the World Cup qualifers starting in the autumn.

‘The Copa America will bw a test for everyone and I hope to bring joy to my country,’ said the 25-year-old.

‘The injury was very hard. To see the ankle twisted was shocking, but that’s football. Today things are going well and I’m grateful to everyone who has supported me.’

Brazil stars Kaka and Ronaldinho were among the players who dodged the 2007 Copa America under pressure from their clubs after long seasons in Europe.

Sir Alex Ferguson let midfielder Anderson go to the tournament shortly after he had signed from Porto and Gabriel Heinze took part shortly before clinching a move to Real Madrid.

Antonio.... are you listenin.
We all hope, your ankles healin.
We miss your pace and your serious face.
Walking in a Tony wonderland.

yay. now hope he doesnt have any annoying setbacks

LAV will get the fat bastard scoring again

I'd rather extend that "6 week" fitness regiment to at least 8... No use in bringing him back only for him to suffer small injuries for a month... We can be patient for a bit.

Like signing a new player

He must not be rushed back in too quickly and rather be brought back in slowly.

Extremely glad for him, he's shown great character to get back so soon.

Brilliant news, we've managed to top the league without him and Rooney for the major chunk of the season shows how good a team we are and how brilliantly Nani and Berba have been this season. We can only get better now, Come on you Reds:devil:

I think the one player who will greatly benefit of Tony V's return is Rooney. His delivery last season was one of the main reasons behind Wayne's goalscoring return. Imagine Valencia and Nani on each side of a midfield containing the resurgent Carrick/Anderson-combo.. Mouthwatering!

Nani on the left, Valencia on the right.

Nani can do the cutting in and shooting, Valencia can do the running past and crossing, Evra and Rafael can do the rest. Rooney to reap the benefits!

We will be feckin set. Watch out Europe!

I can't wait for that.

Quite amazing to think that within four months that horrible break healed completely, enough for him to be able to do some sort of training, anyway. I just hope he's really 100% OK before he tries to step it up.

Remember Smith, who returned surprisingly early in 2006, until it turned out it was too early and we ended up keeping him out for a few extra months in order to regain his fitness.

Having said that, I checked a bit and it looks like Aaron Ramsey was also back in some sort of training after four months, though it was something like nine by the time he played for Arsenal's reserves.

Valencia isn't human, he's a cybernetic organism, the reason he's been out for this long is a combination of waiting for new parts and making the recovery time look at least semi realistic.

Some massive games coming up that he'll be targetting a return for. Home game against City will probably come too early for him but maybe a couple of cameos at Marseille and Wigan ahead of the Chelsea game.

12 February 2011 - Man Utd v Man City
23 February 2011 - Marseille v Man Utd
26 February 2011 - Wigan v Man Utd
1 March 2011 - Chelsea v Man Utd
5 March 2011 - Liverpool v Man Utd
15 March 2011 - Man Utd v Marseille

Where he'll really do some damage is when we get Scholes back. As much impact as his delivery has is the fact that when we have two real threats on the wings in Nani and Valencia, and Scholes able to pick them out with passes from anywhere on the forward half of the pitch, it creates such huge width that opposing teams simply cannot afford to ignore that it opens up a lot of room in the middle.
