Love him

Is there a video of this moment? (The pointing to his arm, not the break.)

Why did he point to his arm?
I remember the discussions, but not the conclusion. I think it was suggested that he was simply pulling his arms down, but that appears to be wrong, he did that earlier on, when laying down. I think some said he was "pointing" to the blood running through his arms, which means something like he could feel the fans' love in his veins. Or summat.
Rolling down his sleeves..
He's rolling down his sleeves at 3:12 here. Not sitting up. YouTube - Injury Of Antonio Valencia

That's what the South Americans were alluding to, which would be the best bet.

It's also the most beautiful interpretation and beauty > truth. (Although a harmony between the two would be nice.)

Great video here. Reminds us exactly what we've been missing.

Great clip, it shows what a fantastic player the lad is, one of the best grafters ariund with bags of pace & skill, it'll be great to have him back in full flow for us again, he was dearly missed when out injured.

What a fantastic return to the team for Valencia.

Damn excited to watch him the rest of the season!

That simple ball he played to Giggs to set up our second goal, he did something similar at the weekend. Other players wouldn't have done that. But it was so simple and so obvious and so effective.

Damn giggedity we've missed him. I have a slight suspicion that this time out might've even been beneficial in terms of giving him some breathing space and time to reflect & add more facets to his game. Too early to tell at the moment but I have a feeling injury free.. he could explode for us next season.

His creativity on the wing is priceless.

Huge boost before next important games.

I'm looking forward to nani on the left and valencia on the right. Hopefully this new and improved Nani can perform to a high level out left, despite being clearly a better player on the right. If Nani can do this, then the Valencia/Nani combo will be extremely dangerous.

Was surprised Fergie waiting until 60 mins before bringing Antonio on, I thought it would have been another HT job.

However, when he came on, he impressed as much as ever.

A start on Saturday is in order, I think. Top, top player. Love him.

Thought he was very good tonight. One thing Valencia has over Nani is effiency. As a winger he knows the role perfectly. Glad he has come back and done so well.

Valencia doesn't have the tricks but he sees the game better than Nani, I think. He plays with a clearer head too it seems. Nani, for all his individual talent, seems to mentally switch off when he's on the ball sometimes. He becomes oblivious to what is around him and often because of that neglects the obvious pass or the better option. Valencia, doesn't have that. He plays with such clarity and rarely loses his head or loses focus in the final third.

Nani is the most versatile winger.

At what?

Manchester United have always played with width, it's a trait, and Valencia is by far a better winger than Nani is. Some of you need to think! Do I have to give you all a basic lesson and explain the basics?

Seriously?

You take the ball down the line, you cross it, centre forward sticks it in the goal, very simple.

Seriously?

I don't care less whether Nani scores ten goal or not, I want a winger to give the ball to a striker and put it into the net.

Was great. He honestly is not playing like a player who has just missed 6 months of football.

This is like a signing outside the transfer window. Massive boost.

Sounds like Beckham & Van Nistelrooy cooperation.

This is indeed classic Manchester United and Valencia fits perfectly to the tactic.

He's not a better right winger, and that's the point! Is Ryan Giggs a better footballer than Paul Scholes?
Scholes is better than giggs and nani is better than valencia imo.

You have to consider that player in their favorite position.

Nani has been our best player for awhile now. Valencia had never.

Anyways I cant do this, as I'm feeling lots of love for the ecuadorian tank and refuse to slate him!

Yep that helped us a lot last season didn't it? Nani is the better player but Valencia is a more traditional winger. Without Nani this season we'd be struggling to get into Europe. Anyway I'm not going to get into the Nani vs Valencia debate, I'm just glad to have them both at United!

Nani's been the best 'right winger' in the league this season. So give him some credit!!

I don't think Nani plays as a right-winger. I think he plays independently of traditional formational roles which if you're brilliant can make you essential. If you're having as many bad days as good days, it's a quandary for the manager.

I doubt Fergie considers Nani "a quandary"

He was pretty shite tonight but he's been outstanding for the last 12 months or more.

yeah all of that doesnt really matter. It's about producing the goods not how you do it. Ronaldo did it with goals, nani with goals and creativity and valencia with traditional wing play. The important part is the end product (not necessarily just statistically ot course).
