Think Sir Alex is playing him more centrally now. That adds a little more dimension to both the team and himself. Good to see.

A good example to all the players out there at big clubs who moan and want to leave when they aren't getting a starting place every week, go and give the manager a reason to start you.

He's got his mojo back, hasn't he? Excellent again today. Looks a better option than Young at the moment.

Look this is what we've been crying out for, that there is competition for places and that whoever comes in does his job.

Antonio is playing well and deserves his place in the team at the moment.

Nani goes on the left to accommodate Valencia but he won't put the right footed Young there. Young has alot more to his game IMO but is a waste crossing from the left.

Exactly, it really is that simple, Young hasn't shown enough since coming back from injury to displace Valencia, I'm sure it'll change again in a few weeks/months.

Personally I think Valencia is a great player whose underrated by a lot of fans, if he was at Madrid or Barca doing what he does for Utd we'd have more people drooling over him.

I think this is why the Young transfer was a good one. It gives us some good rotation on the wings. It was clear during Valencia's time out with injury that Nani was an excellent option on the right aswell as the left and that we should buy a left-sided player to allow Nani games on both sides. Now we have that variety on our wings.

Young and Nani started the season like an express train but once that combination went a bit stale we have been able to mix it up by bringing back the tried and trusted Nani/Valencia option which did so well a couple of seasons back. No doubt one of these two will hit a dip in form at some stage and then hopefully Young will step up again.

Obviously we have Park also but I feel he is a different style to these 3 who attack their full-back and now we have great options.

He has come in to good form at the right period, happy to see him finding his feet so to speak. Still - obviously doesn't have a left foot though.

Agreed, i don't see that much difference in him and Di Maria where they cut out the fancy stuff and just run at the full back at full pelt as well as putting in a great shift defensively.

I think Di Maria is a better player than Valencia, no insult to him, but Di Maria is pure class, despite constantly dieing in every match he plays.

Still, Valencia is a top player on form, glad to see him and Rooney linking up, like old times, and it's great to see him reclaiming his spot on the right wing.

He still needs a left foot though

He cuts inside and crosses with his right doesn't he, and it doesn't really work. He's got really good delivery and could be a good asset for us crossing from the right. I find it baffling it hasn't really been tried especially as Nani works fine on the left.

Honestly is he the most miserable person ever?

Nani is glowing, Valencia is forcing a smile. He just seems like a very grumpy guy.

He's on fire at the moment. His link up-play with the devastating Nani was outstadning. So much threat, energy, and also added end product. Back to his best, whether on the wing or at right back. I love watching him in full flow!

Amazing transformation. Confidence oozing from him now. Touch so sure, weight of passes perfect, no hesitation. Couldn't have timed it better.

We should play Valencia and Nani on the right the next time we play Fulham too. They'll break down and cry even before kickoff.

Normally, I would yell at SAF for not putting Rafael in when Jones went off. But you just knew they would tear Riise, and the lazy Dempsey, a new one. Shocking lack of tactical insight from Jol, giving us both flanks to use as we saw fit(Dempsey/Ruiz on each wing)

I still think he was better in his debut season ( He was just passing by full backs so easily then )..

I think the fact that he can't cross with his left has made the fullbacks who've seen much more of him been aware of that so that's why they've defended better against him...

I do enjoy what he is capable now but imagine Valencia putting crosses with his left, it'll open up a new dimension and defenders will struggle a lot more with his pace and power...

There's really no trickery in it, he just blasts at full speed and no one can catch him.

He's just back from injury, so I suspect that's the reason why Young got the nod.

Yeah, I know. Still, I don't think he would have done that had we been under the kosh. The amount of defending needed from Val/Nani was almost non-existant.

Well. He was in the right back slot but played as a winger. He had an excellent game but wouldn't got so far to say that he's back to his best.
