This was always going to be the case with him coming off a long term injury. Major impact in his first couple of games now the little lull whilst he gets used to the fitness level and pace again, I'm sure he will peak just in time for the last few games.
He was awesome second half, time and again roasted the full back and put in good delivery, it was fitting he was the creator of the goal.

Always looked like a threat down that right wing today, constantly probing that Everton defence with those powerful & determined runs of his. In the end one of them payed off with a superb run down the right flank & an even more superb cross to Hernandez for the winning goal. My MoTM.
played well today i thought. really shined defensively.
He is hitting peak form at exactly the right time of the season. No matter how good they are in possession, he will cause Shalke, Barcelona or Real Madrid huge headaches when he gets the ball with space to run into.

For about 10-15 mins prior to the goal, he was on fire. The shot cleared, followed up by the ball to hernandez. Then moments later closes baines down and then provides the cross for the goal. Superb.

He's fairly one dimensional so if he can't beat his man with pace then he struggles a bit. But still full credit for him for putting pressure on Distin and getting the error out of him in the buildup to the goal.
Showed a lot of determination in the second half and chipped away at the Everton back line until it gave way.
He's had a little bit of a drop off since his return - I was waiting for it but, overall Tony V is as consistent as they come. At the start of the season when he came back first few games was really good then had bit of dip and maybe looked like he was getting back to his normal self till the nasty injury.
My biggest problem with him today was several times he was so far behind the play, balls would come in from the left and he was no where to be seen down the right side. Sometimes wish he'd gamble more at the far post.

Created a host of huge chances today, Nani's shot saved by Hernandez, Howard's superb save from Hernandez's header (that was from Val's cross, right?) and the goal. Lovely player.
Sure was... thought he was disoriented and off-balance there, and he produces a neat little dink into space. Great little bit of improvisation.
People saying he was poor today? If that was a poor performance from Anderson then half of his other appearances must have been woeful.

WTF? One of our better players IMO. Fantastic last 15 minutes.
He was neither poor nor great. Him and Nani were a bit like for like, but Valencia stayed on and managed to put in a great cross for the goal, and in the last 15-20 minutes the tired Everton players couldn't deal with him.
I'm talking about his crossing only.He did create 2-3 chances but most of the time he wasn't as good as he could be with his crossing
Agree. They both were okay. It's just that Valencia came alive towards the end when we were battering them and the urgency levels were through the roof. Got a bit lucky with the assist too to be fair. In fact had Nani and Valencia played the way they normally do we would have torn Everton apart.
Anyways, doesn't matter one bit. Today was Hernandez and Anderson's day. Next time it will be others. That's what makes a good unit.

I like Valencja but God he is one-dimensional and extremely one footed which is a shame.
Valencia's pace, strength and poise to beat Baines to the ball, knock him over and pick out the ball for Nani was phenomenal. He's just a superb winger, gets the job done without a fuss. Love him.

A player who does one thing and does it consistently is an asset fir any club. Im glad that Valencia is with us.
He seems to have diversified things slightly and I'm sure the trainers will work on additional dimensions. Last year he was all about going down the line. This year, he seems to have incorporated cutting into the box to keep defenders guessing a bit more. Can't really ask much more of him, especially after a successful first year and the way he's stormed back following the injury.
Yup, we might have 99 problems but he ain't one of them.
As I said elsewhere, he might lack a bit of guile, but his direct approach is something we sorely missed at times earlier in the season. He might not bamboozle defenders with tricky moves, but his pace has them constantly on the back foot, and now that he is settled in, you see him cutting back, and sometimes driving inside the box, he also has the ability to play the little through ball, which we've seen a couple of times already this season.
Nani is obviously the much better player, but I gotta be honest, sometimes I wish he would do a Valencia in certain circumstances.
Nani can do a whole lot more on the ball than Valencia - and sometimes that could be his problem, as he doesn't know which option to choose! Certainly in the last few matches the indecisiveness has creeped into his game.
None of our wingers is perfect, but they are a good combination. You add their pace, the attacking full backs we've got with Evra, Rafael and Fabio... And you don't want to be a full back facing us even on Nani's bad days.

I suspect there was less screaming with Valencia than there would have been with David Beckham. At least, from my seat.
I was surprised that was let go. Not that I think it shouldn't have been, it was shoulder to shoulder, but I think most referees would have certainly (and unfairly) blown for that.

Baines was dragging Valencia's arm there, lucky not to give a penalty away.

If the strength of the players were reversed, Baines would've dragged Valencia away from the ball and to the ground, and that'd be a very good penalty shout. Luckily for Baines Valencia is a monster and Hernandez saved Nani's shot.
