Well duh. Arsenal won the double in 1971, 1998 and 2002, if you ever watched anything else than Manutd you would know that. But no team has won it two years in a row. You mancs are never cease to amaze me in your knowledge of football. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> </strong><hr></blockquote>

Why would I want to watch anything other than the team I support? <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

I don't hold statistics in my head like you or apparently Arsene Wenger do, so fair enough he'll want to win the double twice in a row.

Not that he will. <img src="graemlins/wenger.gif" border="0" alt="[Wenger]" /> <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

I better clarify this: I don't watch much, I play the game.

I don't really consider a bunch of numbers knowledge if you must know.

What could work in Roy's favour is the Highbury pitch. It's slightly smaller (about 10 yards or so) than most other pitches so he wont have to cover as much ground. Hopefully. ;)

Should Phil start next to him or Butt? Cant decide - Butt has match-fitness / recent games on his side, but of course there's the story of December 7 working for Phil....

With them being an English team and everything

Do you cheer Beckham, Scholes, Butt, the Nevilles, Rio, and Brown when they play for United but boo them when they play for England?

I think its a fair point.

It should've been the Union Jack. ;)

My team for tomorrow -

Fab

Neville Rio/Wes Silvestre JOS

Keane

Ole Butt Neville Giggs

Scholes

Ruud

OK, so there's 12. But I can't decide. :D

It was either there or Iraq--and you heard what Chirac said about playing Eintracht Baghdad--(who just lost to DC United).

Would love to see Fergie keep the front line with Ruud up front and Giggsy, Gholes and OLE right behind him. I do hope Fergie doesn't replace OLE with Becks. Every game I've seen OLE start for Beckham he's provided more front flow movement than Becks has provided. His chips and touches have been remeniscent of Scholsie himself. Keep Becks behind those 3, on the right and Stick the terriers, Keano, Butt and Pnev somewhere round the middle. Fill in the rest as fit.
God, I hope we don't get beat tomorrow. It would be SO BAD!!!!!!!

So my understanding of the situation is

Arsenal

Vieira fit
Pires fit (might not start?)
Parlour slight doubt (hamstring)

United

Becks fit
Fab fit
Keane should make it
Giggs same as
O'Shea probably out

Why watch anything else than the team you support? Because it's football for one. Unlike many of you might think, football can be enjoyable even if Manutd aren't playing.

And I don't look at those dates just as numbers, I look at them as memories, great memories. Those last two doubles are pretty recent and most football fans would know about them, but as you say, you're not a football fan, you're a Manutd fan.

Sky have a good picture gallery of all the best games between us in recent years. Had a good time remembering some of the moments, plus a few i'd rather forget.

Fair enough, but they're not my memories. Then they are just numbers to me aren't they?

The only other footy I actually watch is whatever highlights there are on telly. Spanish football or Serie A once in a while too. But I'm comfortable being a United fan thank you very much. I've had 18 years of memories for those.

oh shit! I thought it was yesterday! and so I was very surprise to c that this thread got 2 pgs only...

<img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> UNITED &gt; ENGLAND

United are from Manchester...England...

They are an English football club.

They represent England in the Champions league.

What do you think about that Johnny Foriegner?

Is that how you would describe your captain ??? ;)

Or both managers that won you the CL

Busby & Ferguson

Or you last two captains (spanning the better part of a decade)

Cantona & Keane

Or you past three goalkeepers (spanning the better part of a decade)

Schmeichel, Taibi ;) & Barthez

Or most of your strikeforce over the last decade

Solsjaer, RVN, Yorke, Cantona ...

Or your rightwingers for the past decade?

Kanchelskis, Giggs

Seems to me like plenty of vital figures have been "johnny foreigners" from an English point of view...

I think a fit O'Shea should be starting... as for Ole V Becks, Becks will probably start but he should be under no illusion get your arse in gear or prepare to be subbed.....
